It's a historical, cultural & traditional thing... that goes beyond tribal/reginal religions and ethnicities ...
My culture, for example, is alien to Islam's culture and we are not religious, much less being Muslims... but we still share common old cultural traits that cut across many far-flung people and cultures: you do your best to show respect to your elders, your parents, your grand parents and, by extension, elders from the community and in general... even if you think they're a bit off sometimes...
It's not always about who's right or wrong or who's being "straight forward" ... and it is NOT about "being sneaky, not looking at me in the eye but stabbing me in the back the moment I'm not looking" like White cultures and people like the babble...
BTW, Merab, Khamzat & Islam's people from the Caucasus Mountains ARE the term from which the word CAUCASIAN or "White" is taken.
So NOT all "White people" act the arrogant, strange ways Brits, American, French, and other Western White folks act... most Natives from the Americas, to Native Africans, to Natives in Asia... to Islam's Caucasus folks, to the vast Central Asian people (from which both Western Europeans and most Asians came)... traditionally, we conduct ourselves in front of elders and parents very similarly: paying deference to them, out of respect (whether they know the exact answer to some specific thing or not is not why you should show some deference).

First of all: That was a manly talking. This is how real man talks. No bs, all about real deal, real struggle, real business and friendship.
Second, I love how honest and relaxed Islam is. He doesn't complain. It's a vital mental setup of Dagestani Muslim fighters. They don't go by the people's expectations. They live their own lives. That is their inner peace. They are always happy with any outcomes. This is the key to lead a happy life.
Third, I love the friendship and AKA bond between Josh and Islam or Khabib. Josh has a real love and compassion for his friends from totally different part of the world.
Fourth, when a Muslim fighter from Eastern part tell you, "You are old, brother.", They doesn't mean to insult you, they mean you are respected. Either you are 10 years older or 1 hour older, You are old. And youngers must respect you and serv you. So Josh! Be happy!

The thing that shocked me that Makhachev won while still being dehydrated and not fully recovered.
I mean he was still able to knock alex , so just imagine if he would be normal and have recovered properly, with all of his power......man it would have been a huge difference In the fight. He also wouldn't have got tired in the 5th round...
But even with all if the issues he won 4-1 , that tells a lot 💯

_Islam is right, they had long and hard path to the title. Unlike some guys who has Dana's privileges. Even jon jones who hasn't fight for years gets a title shot in instant. Remember Khabib, he had to fght many guys to get to the title after he got sidelined for two years._
