Brought tears to my eyes listening to the honesty of this legend.
Simple.... one of my heroes
What a pleasure this was listening to the great man who gave us so many great memories. On poor old Dean Coney. I remember walking away from The Cottage chatting to a mate and saying that Coney had had a bad day. Then being reminded he had scored twice. Sometimes fans are just unfair to players. But great to watch this and be reminded of the days that football was magic and was worth going to watch in-between shifts and long travels. Even when the reality was far tougher.
Great interview. Ivor was the first player I watched to have had a real connection with the fans. A true legend of our club and a genuinely nice man. There's been times over the years when I've felt a modicum of guilt over the way I celebrated Bulstrode's death but listening to Ivor recount how Bulstrode lied to his face I realise I didn't party nearly hard enough.
Great interview, thanks. Met Ivor on a recent Fulham Legends tour of the Cottage, absolute gent, dapper, full of amazing stories, honest opinions and he's formed a hilarious double act with tour co-host Les Strong. Had a lovely chat with him about Fulham's many Welsh players over the years. Legend indeed!
I feel so blessed to have seen him play he will always be my biggest hero
What a legend. Remember him and Coney up front . Wot a strike force .. lovely to see him again
IVOR, IVOR, we met him over at Les Strong's pub in Richmond, back in the 80's Les was worried as we were pretty drunk, but after the initial moment we had a great time chatting with him and Les, we were the real Fulham fans and he knew it too! COYWs!
Looked good, smelt great 😂😂
Should get dean coney on ,still lives in Dagenham area .
Intuition drew me to remotely support Fulham from Illinois, U.S. The more I learn, the greater the affection.
Im sure Gordons first goal at home was v PNE in a 5-3 win? Back in 78 I think. He was so intrumental in that Macdonald side that should have gone into the old first division. We were a match for anyone on our day and the football was pure.
Sadly a mix of Ernie Clay and his toxic son meant they were more interested in Rugby League than investing in the Football team.
Google the class of 83, cost pretty much nothing and gave everything.
Before the days of Sky & the Premier League. Joyous.
Come on Fulham, beat City
