I live in Italy (in Tuscany actually) and if you've never been to Puglia you should really consider it!!! It's on the south east of Italy and it has some of the best beaches in Europe and the cities/villages are sooo beautiful!
Wow that sounds nice :) I loved Tuscany, it is truly beautiful. And the wine and te food. Simply amazing!
Margherita I've always wanted to go there! My dad was born in San Marco La Catola. He moved to Canada and that's where I was born but I've always wanted to visit his hometown.
Hello. I'm hamzeh from Iran I wish I would visit Italy some day. I like Italian and Italy.spetially milan city and Lake como
I've been to Vieste in Puglia and you're right. One of the most beautiful beaches i've ever seen in my whole life!
Thank u ... planning for a holiday from India...how is the weather in November
I'm italian and I love see how much foreigners loves Italy. For us those city are pretty normal (obv we live here, we know how they look) but see that makes me happy and proud :).
For anyone who would came to Italy please do it! I think you will like here! :)
Tecla how would you say calabria is? my family is from there and i wanted to see if
Amalfi coast is amazing too and only a few miles from Pompeii.
You should come to Sicily! Despite all the beautiful places you mantioned, in Sicily you'll find the best food, ancient cities, crystal sea and many other things to see. You can't miss to visit Agrigento and the Valley of Temples. If you check it on Google you'll want to book your flight as soon as possible😘
I'm proud to be italian
southern Italy is definitely missing in this list..
Where do you recommend to visit in Southern Italy? I would love to go and document those places on my channel
Europe's Little Secrets Travel
I would suggest to go to:
Tropea (Calabria)
costiera Amalfitana (Campania)
valle dei templi (Sicily)
eolian islands (Sicily)
Ostuni (Puglia)
Scilla Chianalea (Calabria)
Alberobello (Puglia)
Matera (Basilicata)
Palermo (Sicily)
these are all wonderful places! I hope you'll go and discover how beautiful they are!! unfortunately these places are not much sponsored, It will be nice to see a video with more italian beauties :)
Giovanna D. Ielacqua Very true.
Giovanna D. Ielacqua Naples is beautiful too,you must add it to your list.
@@gdi4695 Thanks for this list! I've been to Italy a few times, but I've not really seen much of Sud Italia other than the Costiera Amalfitana, Sorrento, and Vesuvio. I'm planning to move to Umbria later this year to apply for Italian citizenship (my mother's side of the family is from the region) and to start a PhD in geology there. I've been looking for suggestions on places to go in addition to Palermo where a friend of mine lives, and Etna because geology and volcanoes
I tried not copying any of your '10.' More places to go.
1. Amalfi Coast. Italy's answer to Canada's Cabot Trail.
2. Pantelleria Is. 37 mi from Tunisia, Africa. Sounds exotic.
3. Lake Como
4. Capri. Famous Isle.
5. Sicily for the pizza & to see Mt. Etna, & influence of both Greeks & Arabs.
6. Herculaneum. Unlike Pompeii, not too much has been carted off to some museum.
7. Ravenna. Catch those 1500 yr old mosaics.
8. Milan. Fashion capital. And don't forget the fancy cars.
9. Emilia-Romagna region: for the wide variety of food.
10. Roman Campagna=Roman countryside. Stroll outside Rome along the Appian Way & see why so many old master artists painted this region before so much of it was subjected to urban sprawl.
(11.) San Marino. Like Vatican it's not technically part of Italy but it's cool! Unique spot, sounds fun.
You must add Naples too.
LOL
I have been to 4 regions of Italy: Calabria, Puglia, Basilicata and Campania. I loved Matera, which is the third oldest city in the world. I went to Pompeii and Herculaneum, which is like Pompeii but smaller, as well as climbing up Vesuvius. I also went to Sorrento and drove along the Amalfi coast. Next April, I'm going on a 10-day tour all around Sicily.
My top 10 (not in any particular order)
1. Liguria region-known as the Italian riviera. It is so easy to travel by train the the many beautiful sea side towns. I lived in this region (in the city of Genoa) for 6 months and it was amazing!
2. Florence-amazing for art history.
3. Sardinia- the most crystal clear water I have ever seen!
4. Venice-it is just such a unique place. I love getting lost in its narrow streets.
5. Cinque Terre-beautiful views. Perfect place for a scenic hike and then a swim in the sea to cool down.
6. Sorrento- I visited a farm where they showed us how to make mozzarella. So fun!
7. Sienna-small medieval town with lots of charm!
8. Lake Como- it was so fun taking a boat ride to the various cities along the lake.
9. Rome- I have never fallen in love with Rome like I have with other Italian cities, but the history really is amazing, which makes it a must to visit.
10. Genoa (in the Liguria region)- an underrated city that is amazing food (pesto and focaccia originated here). It may be hard to see the charm at first, but spend a few days here and you will see why this city is so special. It’s filled with scenic views, historical palaces, and is does not have the crowds of tourists that other popular Italian cities have.
Italy is my favourite country in the world. I keep going back every couple of years.
Shruthi Rajan I am aiming to go back every couple of years also ! The beauty and energy is second to none and there’s always different corners to explore !
Do the best places to visit in Spain please, really liked your video👍🏻😊
I've only been to Barcelona :P I need to explore more of Spain before then :)
Hey Nadine Go to Mallorca😍 and can you make a serie of this??
wow im off to barcelona in 2 weeks...booked my flight (with 2 friends) not even 3w before departure. :'D have you got any tips for us? its a 3 day trip tho :/
Mallorca is beautiful. Literally looks like the caribbean sea... such clear, turquoise water 😍
Already booked my flight to Barcelona, can't wait :)
I went to most of these places in a big Italy road trip last summer and I have to say - Italy is definitly the most beautiful place in the whole entire world !
grazie
There is always something new to do in Italy! I love it. I go every other year to see family and explore.
I've been to Italy 3 times and have been to most of the places you mentioned. I would definitely add Siena. Such a great place to go to see the medieval architecture. Assisi is also amazing. I would also recommend many places on Sicily, especially if you like Greece. There is actually more ancient Greek on Sicily than in Greece. Just an amazing place. I plan on one day taking a tour around Sicily. Thus far I have only been to Taormina and Syracusa. Both amazing places. Want to see more and its easy to do since the train takes you all the way around the huge island.
Didn't know that about Sicily. I've been to Greece many times and I've loved it.
I am leaving in 2 weeks for Italy to spend my whole summer over there. I am kind of over whelmed with all the beautiful places to go and see as I only have so much time and money so this video was very helpful! I think at the top of my list is Venice because I've always wanted to go and it might be gone in the future and then I'm going to be living in Turin so while I'm there would like to see Verona, Genoa, Cinque Terre and Rome
Yes, defininitely go see Verona, it is very cute and romantic :)
Italy is by far one of my favourite countries in the world! I would highly recommend the south of Italy, Bari is beautiful!
Oh yes, Bari is one of the most interesting city in italy !
I went to Italy last year for two weeks visiting, Naples, Pompeii, Sorento, Rome, Florence, Siena, and Venice. It was by far the best two weeks of my life.
This makes my heart ache so much 😭 I love Italy soooo freaking much, it's such a beautiful country!! And I'm stuck here at university 🙄
have you ever been in south italy? Amalfi Coast and Sicily deserve an exploration!
I love Southern Italy! ...last year i spent a few days in Scario in the Cliento region...gorgeous! And also the Amalfi Coast...i wish I could live there.
Thank you!
Nobody ever remembers about Torino!
My beloved home town ❤
There's so much to see! So many museums! So many monuments!
The city centre is gorgeous (I would recommend visiting it during the week days and in the morning for the minimum level of crowd).
Ciao!
I love Italy! We visited Venice, Cinque Terre, Rome, Vatican city, Pompeii, Naples!!! I loved them all! Good job on your channel!
I’m visiting Italy this summer and this was very helpful! I’m going to Como, Florence, and Venice
Naples. its really unpredictable city. And just so lovely.Best coffee and pizza
Dolomitis! I flew off of the mountains there! :)
Love you brother, and your crazy sports! :X
fly on!
have you ever been to north tyrol?
Its been about a year, so my italian geo might be a bit off, but I'm pretty sure one of my speedflying buddies lives there.
Italy is so beautiful! This makes me want to go back!
I've never been to half of these places and I'm italian. All these places but Pompei and Rome are in the north so bummed. Really Bergamo and no Sicily, Naples and way cooler places in the south ...
Maby she hasn't been there jet!
If you go to Pompei it's mandatory to go to Naples, it's literally the only way to get there (if I remember correctly you have to catch a train and you can catch it only from Naples' station). I have been to Bergamo, one of my friends studies there, and it's a really average looking Italian city hell even my hometown is prettier than that ... Bummed that Italian tourism is so northern-centric ...
Marty S the northern part of Italy is where the economy is booming. I have been to Italy every summer (my parents immigrated from there) and we always visit the northern parts to get away from the blistering heat. I would personally love to visit the southern parts, especially Sicily and the heel and toe parts...
What does socially developed even mean dude? Lol and she is going to do tourism not to move there . Like if she were making a list about places in Italy where you should move I can see why southern Italy wasn't included but it's holiday places. Like there way prettier places than those cited in the video imo
Marty S Bergamo is beautiful too,but Naples and Sicily are the best.
I have been to Florence, around Tuscany for a long while and visited Pisa as well. I really want to at some point, go to Venice and Rome. But also I reccomend going to a quiet, little place in Italy called Lucca. The community there are so hospitable and you really feel immersed in the society when you go out for dinner and drinks, that they act themselves around you and don't just get treated like a tourist. 💛
Nadine, I love the way you make these videos to inspire others to follow in your footsteps. There are many CZcams travellers but as far as I know, you are the only one who does these reviews to help other people make choices.
i was fortunate enough to go with my high school band back in 2012, we went to Rome, the Vatican City, Sienna, and Florence. id have to say Florence waa my favorite part of it.
My favorite place in Italy was either Cinque Terre or Tuscany! They are such beautiful places
I would recommend visiting Venice in the off-season as well. In the summer heat those canals tend to smell - bad, very bad.
Being a future archaeologist, I LOVED Rome and Pompeii. I was so excited that I skipped down the steps like a crazy person. Its one of my favorite moments in life :)
If you're going to Florence, besides visiting Pisa, you should also go visit Siena. It's a beautiful city. Just a warning, there are a lot of steeps streets, which is what makes the houses quite unique so, wear comfy shoes.
I would add Lake Como, Positano and Capri as well. Milan also has a lot of fashion, history and architecture. Italy is amazing 😊
I just came back from Italy a few weeks ago and out of anywhere that I have traveled Italy has the best food! The shopping is great in Venice and so is the seafood pastas!
If you hit Florence, go up the hill and see the sun set. Honestly one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen.
If you like the feeling of walking around the old streets you should REALLY visit Ostica Antiqua 45 min outside Rome. It's an abandoned city where you can walk around inside the houses and look at the actual paintwork! Really recommend!
I studied abroad in Florence and it was amazing, I highly suggest it to anyone going to Italy! I also really loved Capri!
I went to Verona a few year back and loved it! x
been to italy in '96 but i missed visiting 'herculaneum' & 'ostia antica' these are the ones i would like to visit most...
Top 10 places in Canada?? Love this series! :)
I was just in Venice last week -- my very first time in Italy! It was just STUNNING 😍
Rome was incredible!!!! I went in late June and the heat and tourist was a little bit overwhelming. I'd recommend going in the spring or the fall for a cooler and less busy environment. You should check out places in the Abruzzo region! So much lesser known but absolutely gorgeous with no tourists!!! :)
Bergamo is amazing, agreed ☺️ and it's great that there are not as many people as in other cities like Rome or Milan
Paestum, which is south of Pompeii is amazing!!! 3 standing Greek temples in the middle of beautiful countryside. You get the feel of walking around an old city without the Pompeii creepiness. Also, I liked Herculaneum better than Pompeii, because the structures are better preserved (intact carbonized ceiling beams) and you see how the eruption changed the landscape. But modern Pompei (1 I) does have a beautiful cathedral.
Love, love, love this video! Italy has always been on my travel list! Thank you for sharing!
I went twice, to Milan, Venice, Rome, girona, Florence and a bunch of other places lol it's so pretty
Oh and Naples too
You have to visit Viareggio and Marina di Massa, small towns along the Tuscany coast -- near Pisa.
Bergamo???? :)))) You have to visit South Italy.... Napoli, Puglia, Sicilia, Sardegna.......
2608heinz I agree,Southern Italy is much better than Northern Italy.
My favorite region in Italy is Abruzzo. Hire a car and visit one of the many hill-top medieval villages. For example, Pettorano sul Gizio where my maternal grandfather was born.
Great video again Nadine, I have been to 7 of them places :) I agree with what you said about Pompeii being authentic and traditional Italy, loved walking through the ruins. I love going to Lake Garda when near Verona, ever been?
Italy is so beautiful. A lot of amazing places to visit.
I live in Trentino.
I've wanted to go to Italy for years, I'm studying abroad next year and Italy will definitely be part of my weekend trips🙌🏻
DEFINITELY visit the Herculeum excavation site rather than Pompeii. It's so much more interesting, you can see more, and it's not as crowded!
Sardinia!!! The people are so lovely and they have the most beautiful beaches!
hey girl , love this type of video with your personal clips. do more ,but also add some packing tips ,like what type of shoes or clothes are appropriate etc. i know ur a packing queen so you have tips. more travel tips is always appreciated. love ya !
Italy is probably one of my favourite places! Most recently I've been to Milan which is probably more modernised compared to a lot of Italy but it was incredible. A place that will always stand out to me Taormina in Sicily (the town home to Mount Etna!)
I'm going to Rome, Vatican, Venice, Milan and como next month🥳
just came back from Italy a week ago just wonderful definitely an eye opener for it wonders and history loved to go back. my favourite was Capri
Hey Nadine! i was so exited when you said torino, because torino was where i was born and it is just such an underrated city but it is very very beautiful
What about all the South of Italy? I really recommend you to visit it, 'cause it's wonderful. I had the possibility (and the luck) to go to "La riserva dello Zingaro", a Sicilian breathtaking cliff in which you can admire all the different kinds of fish!
Very interesting video amazing nature ...Thx and keep going.!Best regards from Canada👌💕🍷🌹🍁✌
please do Turkey and spain
The island of Capri is my favorite place in Italy
Hi,
How are you
I'm from Turin🔆
Verona, the osterias over there are the best. Love your list of tips.
Other ten idea:
- Dolomiti.
- Capri island.
- Ravenna.
- Siena.
- Monferrato and Langhe.
- Milan.
- Lake Garda.
- Matera.
- Sardinia.
You have to go to Ravenna. It's the only place where 5th century mosaics still exist. The art is exceptional.
Top 10 places in Italy that I dream to visit :
1) Florence
2) The entire Sicily
3) Naples
4) Aeolian Islands
5) Rome
6) The Dolomites
7) Sardinia
8) Lake Como
9) Bologna
10) Vineyards of Tuscany
Daniel Tan very long bucket list ;) you can keep an house and from there you can go wherever you want probabily in a month
mario rossi true and I really want to rent a place somewhere in Italy for a year, YES IM NOT JOKING, a year just to explore the country! Italy is just a beautiful universe of its own 💕💕💕
Daniel Tan Perfect list!
Don't be depressed about Venice, my Venician art teacher who has moved back there said to to me that the German-Venicians have actually been planing ways to keep Venice afloat
Hi , I really enjoyed your video on Italy . My daughter will be studying in Rome next semester and I plan to visit her around May 7-11 . Can you please tell me the MUST SEE’s while in Rome . I’d like to get tickets in advance . Thank you
I went to Italy almost exactly a year ago and I highly recommend the island of Capri
Italy is incredibly beautiful-but I will say I enjoyed the quieter towns as opposed to the main tourist attractions. Too many people and I found it hard to connect to the locals and the history when it was being overshadowed by the mass amounts of tourists (myself included). I recommend doing a tour of the Amalfi coast-beautiful and serene
i hope to make this series in every country you have visited
The timing for this video is perfect as I'm going to Italy next week and haven't planed it much! Only the plane tickets! Thanks Nadine!! Are there some vegan restaurants that I cannot miss while being there? :)
My grandparents live in Portovenere, the neighboring town of Rio Maggiore, the first of the Cinque Terre, and its best to stay in La Spezia, the large city near the Cinque Terre and take a ferry or train to Portovenere and hike to Rio Maggiore or take the ferry all the way
My heart beats for Italy but I've never been. Learning the language though!
awesome! came back from italy a few weeks back.. now i want to go back so bad ahh!
I really love Viterbo, it’s a huge walled in Medieval City, and there is a lot of things to near the city, and you also must look up Monster Park!!
All Europe is like a heaven.
This is awesome!!! I come from Tuscany (the Valdorcia area) but lived in Torino for 6 years, happy to see you've included both on the list but especially glad you have put Torino there!!!You are so right, Torino is so underrated also by Italians, but for me it is one of the most beautiful cities in Italy! It is so stunning, with lot of things to do, so elegant, such a happy place to live there, and, not to mention that even if I lived there for quite a long time, the view of the Alps standing in front of you like a wall peaking through the streets, did always left me mesmerised! Great channel btw, can't stop watching your videos! :) Subscribed!
i agree Torino is elegant, romantic and stylish and beautiful and has beautiful outdoor cafes covered by gallerias.... and beautiful river setting. One of my favorite places in Europe, so underrated. I remember when I arrived by train in the station I burst out crying because I could feel the soul and atmosphere of the city straight away, subito!
I hope you make this a series! Greece, Ireland, and Scotland should be nest on the list :)
You could do Pompeii, but then there's Herculaneum. Herculaneum was an Italian port city that was destroyed along side Pompeii during the eruption. The difference? Herculaneum was farther from the blast radius and was buried by less ash and more mud, preserving the city far better than Pompeii. On top of that, Unlike Pompeii, Herculaneum was a city of the rich. So there are far more beautiful things to see, and since the buildings are far more preserved, you definitely would feel like you're back in time. Another bonus, since Herculaneum is far less known than Pompeii you don't get the crowds.
Though note, Herculaneum is much smaller than Pompeii, so personal judgment to what you would like to see.
Quarty Herculaneum is much better than Pompeii,in my opinion.Less touristic, more beautiful.
I went to college and lived in Italy for half a year. I completely agree with your list. Great suggestions. - I LOVE your shirt!! ✌️
This video came at the perfect time. I'm actually planning my trip to Italy now.
I am planning on exploring Italy as part of my backpacking trip across Europe and I am definitely looking forward to it! Plan on going to Venice, Bologna, Florence, Rome, Naples, Pompeii, the Amalfi Coast and Milan. :) Great video and great recommendations, Nadine!
THANKS for the great education, Nadine! I enjoyed your video very much and believe it or not.. actually took notes throughout the video.. pausing at various places :) .. you can tell I'm totally serious about Italy as I'm destined to go there in this lifetime.. your video is a good guidepost!
Amalfi Coast is my favorite!!! And Tuscany for sure!!! Montealcino is wonderful!!!
We are going to Venice in June for the first time
Hey, Nadine! Just have to say that I really enjoy your videos. Keep up the great work!! My partner and I just got back from Italy (we visited Venice, Florence, Pisa, Cinque Terre, and Rome). Florence and Rome were our favorite cities! We were amazed at the beautiful architecture, the history, and culture. We will definitely visit Italy again. Have you visited Naples or Sicily? I think we want to experience south of Italy!
Can anyone help me make out what she says in 1:07 please. It's for an exercise. Thank you so much.
I wanna go Genova, Pisa at Rivera region or Northern side and Roman
Thank you for your videos
Hey Nadine❤I love your videos& vlogs and I really wish to let you know that you're one of my favorite youtube personalities, like ever.I was really interested in knowing what kind of job do you have that allows you to fly flexibly around the world? Thank you for just generally being awesome and sharing your traveling experiences, it has helped me a lot honestly💕
Toscana and Firenze are so amazing I want to go back so bad!
I need to go to Italy asap.
For me my favourite Italian places are Sardinia and Sicilia.
If I could recommend something for future videos like this: Showing the location you're talking about on a map for reference would be helpful for those who don't know Italy that well. Have a close up of Google maps with that red dot then have it zoom out for reference to other cities.
Now it is time for you to visit south of Italy:)
