For some reason YT put your video on my frontpage. I love that I sometimes get smaller creators suggested, I think you did a great job at explaining it.
Just one point: you might turn down the music volume a bit compared to your voice next time. It would make it easier to understand you.

We are playing with settings and it was a little louder this video but next video we
are backing it off as I can see your point. Thanks for compliment on the explaining, its taken me a while to find the right pace for CZcams as teaching trades live is a lot easier.

I've been thinking of getting into woodworking and have watched a ton of cutting board vids. But I always left slightly confused. Your video explains everything in detail and you made it understandable for a newb. Good stuff subscribed.

Im glad it helped you as this is the whole point of the channel! I(Matt) teach trades for a living so I like to think I can explained overviews of the projects and then go into detail while going through the project. I have been getting better as camera is a lot harder for me then in front of 20 people. Good Luck on your Woodworking adventure and post some pictures when you finish a project!

This is meant to be friendly advice. From a safety perspective and assuming this video is targeted at beginners, im not sure its a good idea to show you reaching over the blade at 3:44.

(Matt) I normally would agree with you but in this case I have a blade guard(poorly seen) in place and a push stick. Where I work and my degrees/training occurred this is taught as safe. They do prefer the full guard that I normally see but I need 2' of wood cut to use my setup. I will say your comment is fair and I do miss information as I have to be under 18 minutes or people don't watch. I am going to be filming in depth on how to use the machine with links so I can deep dive on safety. I hope you enjoyed the video otherwise!

Just my opinion but lose the music bud especially while your talking it’s incredibly annoying this sounded way ruder then I meant it now that I read it back sorry about that bud but yeah the music whilst talking isn’t great good stuff other then that tho keep it up best of luck

Interesting I (Matt) personally like back ground music but can see why you wouldn't like it ether. hhmmmm what is the middle ground here?

@@Random-Maker I’ll add on that I think the background music distracts too much. Middle ground could be to lower the volume while you’re talking or use a soundtrack that is slower? I’m not familiar with music terminology but the song you use is too active, if that makes sense.
On a different note, as a beginner myself I would really like an explanation on how to get this done without the professional tools that you have, like a planer or jointer.
      Otherwise, good content and narration.

@@Random-Maker Most video editing software allows you to apply a ducking effect so that the volume drops any time another audio track (in this case, your voice) is also playing.
I agree... nothing wrong with music, but was distractingly loud relative to the voice track.

@@NicolasAntonioJimenez (V-Editor) I didn't know about this.... any software names as that would be amazing as currently I level manually and tried a new balance this video........

@@ivangonzalez3576 (Matt) Fair comments in regards to the audio as for the type of music its supposed to be active motivation but I think it became too busy. The hard part for us currently in regards to music is we are currently using free licenses so very limited as all the money is currently going to projects and video editing software. One day when we are making money off this I dream of having access to more resources to have better quality videos.
On another note your comments as a beginner in regards to tools this has been something rolling around in my head since when this channel was a idea in my head. This project can be done with a hand plane which is very old school and the funny part is I don't own one as I do have a jointer and planer. A lot of projects even the most basic do require a few tools and I see the barrier to entry for most projects is space and cost. I wish public shop spaces were more common but the problem is you need shop spaces to build skills so you want to use the space and you need users who are skilled enough to pay to use the space regularly.
On to another topic since this project has tools your average person may not have . In your eyes what tools would your "average joe" have as I can gear another video with those tools in mind as that as that seems like a great idea for a video!
