My mom and I got on the Silver Star for our trip to Washington, DC in Columbia, SC. I started filming when we left Richmond, VA. I did a little walkthrough of the train but couldn't go into the sleepers. My mom and I had breakfast in the diner before coming into Washington, DC. I watched the locomotive change and at least saw my first EMD AEM-7's before they go out of service by 2014 along with the HHP-8's to be replaced by the ACS-64's. Enjoy! :) Feel free to rate, comment, and subscribe! - Auta a dopravní prostředky
Rode Amtrak for about 10 years straight growing up from DC to Florida, loved every bit of it, I remember when it used to always be full in the summer time and the train was almost twice as long
Yeah. Sadly though, it's not the same anymore thanks to Richard Anderson. Hopefully, the new guy that replaced him will do better.
@@RailfanDaniel1997 hopefully I want to take my kids to Florida on the train , I want them to enjoy it like I did
I love trains. Lived next to railroad tracks a couple of times. Used to sit on the back steps and dream of being an engineer. Later sat with my kids as well. At night when I could not sleep, just wait for the train zzzzzzzzzzz.
My dream is to be an engineer, too!
Even at my age, I still wave to trains and see myself as the engineer!
@@disco0752 As do I, man. Heck, I even know some of the engineers and conductors with NS by name.
That is so cool. I actually recognized a couple by face!
What a great way to enjoy this long distance train like a commuter service with all its luxury and no sleeping acomodation necessary since it was a day trip
I know! It sure was a fun trip! As a railfan, travelling by train is my favorite way to travel around the country.
So Do I
My All Favorited Obsessed Part About Amtrak Train 🚊 Is Walking Through The Sliding Door’s To Other Part’s Of The Train 🚊
Yeah. And listening to the wheels rattling as you walk through the doors!

That Conductor is hilarious! Great video.
Thanks, man! What was so hilarious about him?
Maybe he was just funny to me. But he was funny
In the Cafe car? Or the one talking when we were going into Washington?
Back when the Silver Star had a diner..........:)
Yeah. Personally, I think it was a mistake to remove the diner.
thatguy263 u mean the silver starvation!
It was round trip when I rode from Bakersfield Ca. To Sacramento Ca.
Not to long ago $52
Nice!
very nice
Thanks. And it sure was a fun trip! You may wanna go there sometime!
im thinking about the trip to see Disney world onme day its a three day trip from my home tonwn san jose
OMG! Looks like you'll have to switch trains at certain areas! lol
yes four trains all together
Y @ Times Does Amtrak Train’s Switch From Diesel To Locomotives What Is The Reason For That Just Curious
Because the Northeast Corridor, which runs between Boston and DC, is electrified. The electric locomotives can reach up to 125 MPH.
Eastern Railfan Footage THX ☺️ For Explaining The Reason Y This Happens
That is a completely routine procedure which is done every single day for all trains coming from the south and entering the NEC. Under the FRA, the NEC is electrified so the Diesel engine is exchanged for an electric heading north and then heading south, it’s the other way around.
Did they have those mini chips ahoy cups?
+The Train Maniac I don't think so. Not that I've noticed.
Ok just wondering Thanks I appreciate it
How much is it for a One-Way premium ticket to D.C.?
Well, it depends on where you are going from and how many adults or children you are taking. It cost me and my mom from Columbia to Washington over $200.
The one into Washington.
I think that was actually a car attendent.
Well, you were on the train. Even though I like the way he presented the info.
Next time show the train leaving Richmond Main Street Station
+Chris Tucker The Silver Star doesn't stop there.
Did they tell you to go back 3:35
No, they didn't.
