Union station is awesome. So awesome that when we took the train back home, we arrived over two hours early just to explore the place. It’s the most beautiful train station I’ve ever been to.
Union Station was a great place to visit when they had random exhibits or vendors in the great hall. While not the most amazing food, we used to pop into Johnny Rockets before returning home on the Amtrak Silver Star service.
Johnny Rockets - what a throwback.
Glad to see new eateries have opened up .things are looking up 😀
We love Union Station. Excellent and convenient place to park, too! Thanks for the video.
You're welcome. Glad you liked it!
Excellent video!... My son is traveling into there and now I see and know what it's all about... Live and learn thanks to you!...
I have been to D.C. twice(pre-covid) and Union Station was absolutely awesome! Getting around the city as a non-local is pretty easy, hoping that everything gets back to normal soon!
This was super useful! Also I love the sound of your voice 😊
Thank you Rob for a very good, informative video!!
Thanks, Debbie!
Excellent video!
Great video! I’m planning a trip to DC soon. It will be my first time riding a train so this video was beyond helpful.
Excellent!
Very Helpful Thank you
You're welcome!
Great video!!!
Thank you!!
The Walgreens is a great and cheaper option to grab snacks and drinks for your train ride!
Great tip!
I'll be there on Wednesday (May 25)!
Have fun!
I'll throw in Crepe Lena for food in the food court. Super underrated, usually short line, and no 8th graders
I’m arriving in DC via the C&O Towpath on a bike trip and will be taking Amtrak back to Pittsburgh. I’m assuming it’s the same for us as any other Amtrak rider and when we get to the track, bikes are loaded accordingly? I feel like 2023 is going to be a big year for biking this route.
Miss Yo Sushi. That location was excellent.
Yo Sushi - what a throwback.

Hey Rob, I'm from Costa Rica, I've been watching your videos for a week on a daily basis. I love your YT channel, I'm going to DC this summer and your videos have been very informative. QQ: How long shoud I be in advance for a train to NYC?
If it's your first time using Union Station I'd arrive an hour early to be safe.
Buy Amtrak tickets 2-3 weeks in advance for lowest price. Leave Union Station at 6:30 am arrive NYC T 10am - full day in the Big Apple!
GREAT GREAT VIDEO!!! 👏👏👏👏👏 do you know if is there luggage storage??? Or amtrak’s parcel check? Thank you!!!!
@Steven Kelley Thank you so much!!! 😅
We are in DC this weekend and used Union Station yesterday to get to the Postal Museum.
How'd you like the Postal Museum?
We love it. I have been there a few times. The new baseball exhibit is very cool.
Nice! ⚾
hi quick question do they have lockers here i can put my backpack in since I just want to watch a wizards game and ride the amtrak back going to philly. thanks
Pls help..will a sprinter van fit at union station for parking for the day? Does anyone know the clearance?
You forgot the DC streetcar at the other entrance. I know the tram line lack luster, but is still to be desired but still.
u didn't show the beautiful stairwell. Did they knock that down?
Hope Magnolia Bakery will decide to return and give Union Station another post-COVID chance!
Magnolia was one of the best treats around. It was a sad day when I saw they closed.
Union Station has the worst car lanes in the country for people who are dropping or picking up travelers. The two closest lanes to the station's entrance are only for taxi cabs. And the next two lanes are clogged by Uber and the occasional private car that made it. An absolutely nightmare.
What microphone do you use?
Sony lav mic.
Don’t forget MARV goes to West Virginia
hehe final destination
thinking about going to DC by Amtrak for one day.....where are the food trucks park and are they close to the Amtrak Station....also love gyros....any suggestions
Going to DC (also by Amtrak) next month. I'm a nervous traveler so I've done a ton of research, even putting on my oculus to go virtually and map things out in my head. I saw a ton of food truck on the street in front of (south side) of Air and Space Museum. Not sure if that's what you meant. It's just a line of trucks.
@@Shiny101 just got back from from east-west Amtrak travel this February on a Rail Pass ($499)...couldn't remember if we had 4 or 6 hours of layover in DC....but yes, i was able to find the food truck down the hill from the Capitol
My children want I take by Airplane
Are there any kosher or halal food options at the station?
Going next month but looking at the maps, I do remember seeing some kind of middle eastern restaurant, I would assume they would be halal.
Chopt has *great* salads!
Are you team Chopt in the Chopt vs. Sweetgreen faceoff?
@@TripHacksDC Chopt all the way!
Greatest station in the US. Second best if you include the demolished Penn Station in NY. FU New York!!!
