Dan kenfolk!😮
Yep! Looking at this video, I need to DIY my driveway. After getting a 16k estimate for 30 yards. I gotta get busy myself. Thanks for the look! 👍
The transformation was cool to see! Concrete work is brutal if you’re not experienced. Those guys did a good job on the pour.
Now that's a hard ass working man right there that's what I'm talking about
Thank you 🙏🏾
Man, what an epic space! Hope you enjoy it. Look forward to future shop tour videos.
Thanks man! Yea I’m loving the new space
Looks great!
Great job Nolan. Concrete work is tough. You did alot of work prepping the pad. Turned out great!
Yea I got to the concrete part and chickened out! Lol 😂
Awesome job!!!
Yeah, that was amazing! DIY on the excavation! Should of done the pouring and finishing....I've been watching (researching) videos on how to do the entire process myself (on a much smaller scale) and this really helped me! I've watched several professionals do it and nice to see how it's done.
Nice job, the whole thing looks great.
Thanks Jeff, I wish I would have connected that last section. But I guess I’ll have to add that on later.
Good job young man!.❤️
Cool! Good luck!💪😉
Thanks
Your work is amazing!!!!
Thank you Sis! I really appreciate that! God is really good to me!
Looks good, keep doing awesome work
Thanks Cam! I really appreciate that! God is good, I’m just trying to build this thing one step at a time.
Brought the buggy and said f that! Build a ramp over the curb and lets go!
Great job bro it’s looking great!!
Thanks Trav! There are a few things I wish I would have done differently but I am really happy with the outcome!
Awesome video my brutha, gave me alot of ideas...
Thanks man! Good luck on yours!
You did a phenomenal job brother!
Thank you 🙏🏾, wish I could have finished it myself
Great Vid Nolan. Your wife is the real MVP for talking sense into you.
I am actually going to be extending my driveway, but my knees won't let me do this, so I will subbing it all out. lol
Lol! Yes she is! I would been in a world of hurt trying to pour that much concrete! 😂😅
Doing this for my 17×55 parking pad. Thank you for using aggregate. I've seen that's a corner contractor's like to cut often to increase profits. That's why we roll up our sleeves
Does this require a permit, I’m doing a driveway pad of 17x60 I was told I don’t need a permit as longest I don’t cross neighbors owners line
@@ZeusL1989 You don't need a permit if it's an existing driveway.
Killer work !! Super exhausting I’m sure but really paid off!! Loving the videos my boy
I see your whole dream coming all together. Keep up the great work my brother.
Thanks man. Yea it was some grueling work but it paid off in the end! God is blessing me so much!
@@fredspratley8279 Thanks Fredro! Indeed the dream is starting to come together! God is really moving in my behalf!
What did it end up costing to have the concrete poured and the tool rental? How did you haul the John Deere?
Mannnnn that looks great bro! I’m definitely going to be renting some equipment from Home Depot for an upcoming project now.
Thanks Bro! It was lot of work but paid off in the end! I really enjoyed the process
It didn't show how to put the metal in or if it need a wrought iron or how to put the Expansion Joints in
Amazing work! was this done with a permit? I would love to try to do this but I'm afraid to do it without a permit.
Bruh, congratulations. I can’t wait to have enough $ to pour the slab I so desperately need. No way in heck am I gonna do it myself
Yea it’s a daunting task. It can be done, but I had to punt this one!
Good job. Im too old to do to much. You run mini before
Looks really good! Is there a reason why you did not add re-bars?
Added fiber glass reinforcement
how much did you pay those guys to do the concrete work?
The only thing I would say is that the base for the driveway should not be round stone, but so called class five compatible gravel. You need a base that compacts down hard. There are recycled versions from ground asphalt that are very cheap and compact Great.
Thanks for the info. I would like to get the original driveway replaced one day.
Chulada
Bro please tell me how much does job cost you don’t tell me about the labor but just what did all this cost? Thank you sir and God bless you.✝️✝️✝️🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Looks amazing. We'll done. Did you need a permit for this?
Thanks, for the shop yes. Not for the driveway
You need to thank your wife !!!
I definitely did! 😂
how many days need to dry please
Typically 7-10 days to cure enough to drive on
Did you mention the cost of the project?
I did not, I was about $8k
Does home depot deliver that machine?
Yes
And pick up
What was the cost par say?
The driveway was about $8k
Looks like a skid steer eoulda been better that the mini excavator
Yea I think it would have been too
How did you do your grading? At 6:43 you mention building forms and checking to see what's high and what's low but you don't go into any detail and the next thing we see is all your forms already built and you're pouring already with no mesh or rebar/reinforcement in place. No rebar/mesh reinforcement?? No mention of cutting expansion slots? It feels like you left out a lot of important details...
One guy around 7:13 has sandles on 😂
😂😂😂
So DIY now means get 5 dudes to do it for you?
Ok, good to know...
Yea I was convinced not to try doing that much concrete by myself. I bailed at the end 🤷🏾♂️
Where's the rebar??
Used fiber glass in the concrete
I thought you said you was gonna DIY
Yep I started out with that intention until I was convinced to not mess up that much concrete and money by trying it alone
You didn't really " do it yourself " but as a fellow home owner I understand.
Lol yea I belled out at last minute! My wife (the smart one) convinced me that it was a little much for one person! Lol
@@NolanBuilt you had to have cut some costs doing all the packing and grading yourself tho. I think you did a great job - and you did it the smart way!
@@schellywagoner8264 thank you, yea it definitely made it more affordable
fkn BEAUTIFUL!!!
im glad your wife talked you into bro 😂
are you worried about future cracks... i didnt see any rebar, i gues you dont have to do that?
So am I, I went without the rebar and used fiberglass reinforced concrete
I'm glad you admitted at the end that it wasn't all diy
You wish you had the money, but the video is sponsored by, and you call it "DIY" while later on in the video a concrete truck is appearing and like 5 dudes are on the scene to finish the concrete off. Hmmm, initially I had high hopes for this video because I have a worn torn drive way myself with already broken (very) old concrete blocks, some tiles and grass patches, and my idea would be to hammer those blocks to pulp, make them act as foundation and then just drag in concrete bag by concrete bag, by hand and make that 20 by 3 meter driveway that I also wanted for so long. I just hate the weed...(ing).
The title is misleading for sure..but in the video he does say he hired a bunch of people cause he couldn't do it himslef..so he came out clean and told the truth...he definitely should change the title tho...
@@mr_4point681 yes but he said he didn’t have the money to hire a contractor to come pour the concrete hey go figure 🤷🏾♂️
I was so excited to finally find a DIY concrete video, but then I found out it's just a clickbait video. I'm so disappointed. Came out nice, though.
should have loaned against the house and torn up that old driveway too
Why, so he can pay 3 times the amount for his new driveway. Never a good thing to borrow against your home, you need to pay it off first.
Not a DIY video
Yea I definitely bailed out at the end.
Thats not a do it yourself driveway when you have a crew laying your concrete.
This driveway is going to fail there is no rebar to give it strength he probably has fiber in the concrete but that is not strong enough or long-term that sucker is going to crack like a cracker in pieces . I give it six months to a year before he sees the first major crack sorry dude you need to tear it up and start over what a waste of money . God bless you you get educated before you do a project you need rebar big time.✝️✝️✝️🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
You know you give Jesus a bad name, right? You don't know what this man did! For the record, people who read see that he answered about reinforcing the concrete in another reply. Man, where is your grace at?
