    This analysis of his footwork is an excellent detailed breakdown of his flaws. However, he has such a size and strength advantage over nearly everyone that I still wonder what percentage of NFL guys can even take advantage of it consistently. Even with his footwork issues, he gets his hands on you and it’s over. And even when he’s out of position, a defender still has issues getting by him because he’s a mountain and has those long arms to reach you and those strong hands.

      Exactly and the guy is 6'7 350 so his play is not going to look like your NORMAL 6'4 320 O LINE body movement and play....... THINK ABOUT THIS HE ALLOWED 0 SACKS WITH BAD TECHNIQUE THAT SPEAKS VOLUMES some guys has great techniques and still get beat...... 4 a O Lineman I will take a a 6'7 athletic and Powerful Player who already allowed 0 sacks who is young and can b taught technique over a 6'4 player who has technique but still gets beat 4rm time to time an allows SACKS bcuz the guy with great techniques can't get better with more techniques he has to wait years or constantly weigh lift to try to gain power and learn to play using power........

    yeah I agree with everything you pointed out and I feel like he killed it at the college/uni level but he might have to share some time in the NFL cause a few of his errors/flaws will get eaten alive by NFL caliber players. They are much faster, experience, trained, smarter than some of the comp he faced. Even the bottom of NFL talent will be tough.

    We always say “Technique can be taught” which is true. But also most of the monster tackles don’t pan out because of years of muscle memory. To be frank he should’ve been a 4th round pick. The lack of pass rushing talent in the Big Ten was evident. I like how he improved from 2021 where Hutchinson was bull rushing him and the ot into the QB. But he’s not an NFL starter today. It all comes to development

    Every time I see a film on OT Paris Johnson, what I notice the most is how Ohio State RT Dawan Jones totally dominates and bullies anyone in front of him. Furthermore, 6'-8" 375lb. Dawan Jones did not allow a single sack, or pressure, against his QB. Paris Johnson is great, but he can get pushed back...never the case with Dawan Jones. He has the biggest wingspan of any player in NFL history and the strength to rock anyone. Bears GM Poles can trade down to around the 22nd-25th pick, acquire additional draft picks, and still draft a future pro-bowl Right Tackle for the Bears.

  • @robertborgeson1821

    I can see him being a real project. Fast long guys in the nfl like montez sweat are going to rip those high arms down and spin him around like a turnstyle. If your team drafts him it will be a bumpy ride for a few years. He will shut some guys down all game but then other games some guys will be running by him every play.

    Weight is major problem for me.. he needs to sit for a year and get accustomed to NFL weight room. Technique can easily be fixed by a good offensive line coach. If he can stay at around 335-340 pounds. Improve his technique a little and he would be a elite right tackle in a few years.

  • @williesims5887
    @williesims5887 Před rokem

    In the run game he gives his running backs holes the size of an ocean. Just run his way whoever he's locked on too is not tackling you or getting loose. I hope the bears get him in the second round or trade back with the 9th pick and pick this guy up.

  • @williesims5887
    @williesims5887 Před rokem

    He's a project but his size and his length saves him from the things he's not good at yet. If he get the footwork, hands in the proper placement, lose weight and become faster this guy would be the Best Tackle in the NFL. Rushers will switch sides to avoid him.

      I think holding is usually called when you get your hands outside the shoulders. Or also when the defender is turning to run away from you and you grab and pull them back. Usually in the trenches if you keep your hands inside the shoulders it's legal even if you're holding onto the jersey.
