  • This Jet Ski has not been started for a few years. I am going to try to get it running and get it back on the water. Will it run?

    Great video! I've got the 2000 model of that Kawasaki. I had to put a motor in it a few years ago and this year I wanted to replace my oil injection lines to the carbs. No other video shows how to do that...but YOURS DOES! Thanks! We only use ours for two weeks each year on vacay on a lake and love it! Looking forward to Part II...thanks so much for doing what you do...enjoyable!

    Oh man, that Kawasaki looks like it has had a hard life. Glad to see someone giving it TLC, while you got the engine apart I'd look into why there is so much oil coming out the exhaust pipe I know 2Strokes are heavy poulters but dang this 900 takes it to the extreme.

    That circle clip holds the Piston wrist pin in and without it the wrist pin will slide out and contact the cylinder wall and lock the engine up with catastrophic results. Hopefully you're not out on the water when that happens and you're in your yard piss reving the hell out of it like you do.

      So, somehow, the wrist pin retaining wire ring came out, and got wedved in between the piston and cylinder wall? If so, it may be from a rebuild where the pin was not fully installed into its seat, and eventually popped loose, and on into the gap. Ugh.
      I wonder if it would have been even more destructive had it been puked down into the block.
      Anyway, I fault an inadequate assembly of the clip. Good on you to recognize what it was. I was thinking it just fell in from the intake, or was dropped in accidentLly and was "always" loose. Likely you had it right.

      Find a Kawasaki 750 SS sitdown. Just about the cheapest ski you can find and Kawasakis are the easiest to work on. Avoid the Seadoos. Lot more hassle if the engine needs work.

    I would pull the engine and inspect the crank bearings before putting any money into it. If the bearings are good replace the crank seals and have all three cylinders bored to the next size up do three new pistons and rings. No point putting money into the top end and then have the crank go out and ruin the engine.

    Mine keeps over heating quickly. Any idea what could be causing it? Pipes have been blown out.

    Why is there so much sludge coming out of the exhaust?

    Did the white rubber roof coating help with summer heat deflection in your house?

      A little. Hard to tell really.

      I have heard of a roof over a roof being a feature in shacks in the SW, in hot desert country. With air able to free-flow between the "sunbrella" roof and the house roof, it seems it would be a good idea. Maybe with some foam insulation on the underside of the sunbrella roof...

      And where does the oil come from 😂 There is no engine oil in a 2 stroke.

    • @paulyshore98
      @paulyshore98 Před měsícem

      People dumped the oil down the plug holes to try and unlock the engine. It then drained down the ports into the crank case.
