  • Fay Da Bakery became the most iconic Chinese bakery in New York City by serving a large selection of high-quality, low-priced Chinese breads and pastries. If you’re looking for egg tarts, roasted pork buns, or pineapple buns, chances are you can find it at Fay Da. Han Chou opened the first Fay Da Bakery in 1991. It was instantly popular with its classic Chinese breads, which are its most popular items today. Since then, Fay Da Bakery has expanded to 13 store locations and become a go-to place to get Chinese bread and birthday cakes.

With all due respect, I question even if their recipe is "traditional".
Char Siu Bow originated from the Hong Kong/Guang Zhou Area (formerly Canton)
Even here on CZcams, when Westerns make the bun, like Marion's Kitchen + others, you see the cubes of pork inside.

They most likely meant the recipe. They have over a dozen bakeries and said they sell 2k of those pork buns alone in a day. It makes sense for efficiency.

I always found the stuff from the one in the SkyView Mall in Flushing to be very pretty... but it all tasted like wonderbread.

One of the Fey Da bakeries in Chinatown had closed down between late 2018 and early 2019. Will be sorely missed.
