- We brought @AndreaMengucci back to reenact his Pro Tour Shadows semi-final match. Slinging spells like back in the good old days of Khans of Tarkir.

The only channel featuring this calibre of pros playing paper magic while giving an insight on their plays... Hats off to the Cardmarket team.. Watching Arne win the pro tour was what brought me to follow the pro scene and Mengucci is just a legend.
The hand/board/graveyard info is so cleanly presented! It's super helpful to understand what's happening!
Agreed! Production value feels even better than the pro-tours etc!
All info is presented so much cleaner :)
(I know the PT's have to deal with the fact its live etc though!)
Exactly!
This matchup was a real treat! The dynamic shifts in power were amazing. Value everywhere. Strong lines hidden in the weeds. High end play at its finest. Really loved it!
I can't decide who is more handsome but it is Toffel
Truuueeee
So true bestie
A man of absolute culture
22:16 Incredible. Two Ojutai in hand, one on the board, and one in the trigger. Arne can see his entire playset right now.
Love these flashbacks, so much nostalgia.
A flashback matchup I would love to see is ptktk final between Jeskai and Abzan. There is something really iconic to me about that matchup
That's very doable! :)
@@mrfresh9589 no, but we are having a guest over this weekend to film it :)
Wow what a masterclass! Such understanding of the match up, so many moments where they could legit read what’s in each others hand based on what they play, ah so much fun to watch !!!
Nostalgia matches are great! Please do more!
Love this. Your channel is unparalleled in the quality of paper magic it shows (even compared to WOTC and actual premiere play events). Also great to see other eras of magic. Thanks to all involved.
Thank you! That is very kind of you to say :)
Man thats just the dream duo right there! Love from Berlin to Arne and Andrea ❤️
This was the very first Pro Tour that happened after I started playing so the nostalgia is hitting me hard on this one!
Man, I love your paper gameplay content, even if I am not interested in the format at all I watch all of them. Good job!
Thank you! :)
It's true! I'm learning a lot about formats I don't play with these videos.
What a match!🔥 props to Arne for finding those lines!
I love everyone's enthusiasm in these games. It feels a good bit like they're back in the old formats, playing for stakes. Great job, y'all!
It feels wierd going back and seeing mengucci in pt journey into nyx's top 8, but seeing him growing quite a bit over the years has been great.
I loved Esper Dragons because of the synergy the deck had with it's removal and threats.
The level of play, the explanations and the PASSION for competitive mtg that these players bring is amazing. Might be the goat video from cardmarket for me.
Esper dragons was the most fun deck I've ever played!! Nice to see this callback :)
Seeing these two absolute legends play and explain their thoughts, is making me a better magic player! AND the videos are very entertaining. More pls cardmarket
Creating this youtube channel might be the best descision the cardmarket team ever made
Mengu turning into Rick Flair once he hit the Reflector Mage was hilarious XD
These are so fun! More please :D
And losing the game because your counterspell can't actually counter their spell has to be one of the most frustrating things in the game
8:36 Victoriya-The best I never had. great song whoever edited this great man
Thank you for the name! Tis a banger of a song
I love the time machine matches, especially when someone involved in those matches is playing them
As someone who had the most tournament success in Khans of Tarkir block, this was fantastic to watch and made me so happy just watching
Haven't even watched it yet but this gets me so excited. I used to go back through and watch old pro tours and this was one of my favorites and I loved watching Shota play so this is awesome.
That was incredible, so nostalgic as well
I miss the forced reveal mechanic from the lands and spells dragons was playing the deck. Information is such a valuable resource and trading power for information was a great skill testing mechanic I wish we would see more often
Watching you guys is always fun, but seeing how happy you were playing old decks you loved was amazing. More please.
Awesome video, with AMAZING production values. You guys truly put out a great product for the community.
I miss the days where you can casually play 6 mana cards with no issue.... Makes me miss playing Standard in person.
What an awesome video! Love the pros, the historic setting, the commentary... perfect. 10/10
Loving these episodes. Interesting decks, great players, solid editing, and an entertaining watch. Can't wait for the next one.
would love to see more like this, old decklists are great to watch! great work
Please do more of these! Old competitive magic is so sweet!
Wow what a play at the end to play around the negate. What a control master
Watching for the card asmr, love hearing them shuffling around and slapping down on the board.
Andrea top decking is always the funniest thing. That's the kind of excitement I want to channel when I play games.
That second Silumgar was amazing!! Never would have thought of that
started playing around this time, so much nostalgia for these times. such good content, keep it up!
Man this brings back memories. Languish was what wizards gave black players who wanted a damnation reprint. Man-lands were in rotation. And people very much underestimated the flip planeswalkers, especially Jace. What a nostalgia trip.
Nice! I’ve been binging these. Glad I’m catching a new one! Thank you!
Thank you for watching them :)
That was awesome having Katha there. I would NEVER thought that cantripping was better than a free 2/2. This is what i love most about your channel. I learn new tactical ideas that i would never have even considered.
I love this series of older standard decks! You should keep the series going
Those games were amazing! So glad I rewatched this match !!
Great great Content! Thx to the two guys!
Loved that format! Keep up the grind, thanks gentlemen!
I watch all the card market videos anyway but I am super excited for this one! My favorite decks.
Wow what a fun video would really want to see more of these super fun to watch and for many people a trip down memory lane. Please more!
Haven't been around back then, but that looked great, thanks also to these two awesome gentleman.
Wow spooky. You uploaded this video the day after a friend and I went and looked at a bunch of old standards and decklists including this one.
Definitely would love to see more like this!
I love Arne and Mengucci. This is the content I love, keep up the great work!
I love content like this!! Any standard is always fun for me, and anything with Arne!
Love the flashback videos! Great job team!
Absolutely incredible games! I wish I’d been around for these sets!
Great video, would love to see more of those!
What a fantastic set! All games were super close
As usual, great editing, great players and very interesting decks. This video is a real treat for any mtg fans.
Super high quality and production value. Nice to see Andrea play and Arne is the best!
This was such a nice throwback I forgot I even missed, ty for doing this!
Sooooo hype seeing this pop up in my feed, great way to spend lunch.
Keep up with the great content guys and gals! It's really enjoyable and a treat
That was such a great display of higher level thinking in Magic. Wow. I'm speechless 👏🏻 👏🏻 👏🏻
More nostalgia matches please! I love seeing formats I didn’t play pulled back out and played.
great players and great production. very interesting to watch nostalgia decks
I loved this! The nostalgia games are great
That Avacyn ohhh Avacyn oh no. LOL. I had to replay that part three times. Great move.
That was a fun match-up! It was very back and forth.
I remember watching that match. One of the best finals I've seen
Past standard games are something else, this was amazing! Hoping you guys put out more videos like this :D
I like how prominent the cardboard noises are when cards get played/moved around
18:36 the eyeball on the right perfectly matches up with his button. Pure magic (not of the gathering)
Please do more of these, this was so fun. I remember playing G/R Elrazi Ramp in this standard with Kozilek's Return and shit. One of my favorite magic memories is getting one of the local sharks bad with a Winds of Qal Sisma post board *chef's kiss*
Those matches were incredible ! I didnt play magic during that time but the content was great nonetheless, love this "nostalgia" videos, it gives more perspective to the game and showcase cards who don't see much play anymore, also love Mengu and Arne ❤❤
My favorite standard format during my time playing. I miss it so much
Great content!
I remember playing a 3 player mirror match with an the same Esper dragons deck on a school field trip once. It wasn't this exact list because it had Elspeth and Dig through time with no Jace (we ruled that the cards exiled to delve were shuffled back in to the shared library so we wouldn't deck). It was a 45 minute game and had some great back and forths.
Esper dragons was my favorite deck at the time. Glad to see it in the hands of pros again!
all games were very interesting, standard must have been so fun with these card
One of the best Mtg channels! Nice content and always interesting.
Hey fellas, love the content. Great players, great decks. I think tapping into nostalgia is a great niche. Keep up the great content!
i miss my esper dragons deck so much, never had more fun than when i played that deck
Really nice content! Definitely top tier! Great guests and decks!
Look at baby Arne & Mengucci though! So fresh faced 😄
This is the best post-production I've ever seen for a paper game, good job
The best paper magic content on YT, bar none
Hey mister boss man give this content creator team a raise!
I beat Esper Dragons to win my first big game day for Dragons Of Tarkir. I used mono red Goblins, with rabble master, and a bunch of burn spells. It was a big turn out at channel fireball. Legendary time of Magic
These truly were the best years of standard. I hope blocks and card designs like these make a return.
this shows me why magic years ago was so good. how do we ever get back to those days
Wow - what great games. Always love to hear Arne and Mengu's reasoning on why they're playing a particular line.
Another banger! Let's go :D Thanks Cardmarket!
Your pro players coverage is some of your best content. Please keep it up!
That is very kind of you to say :)
That was AWSOME!
I love how you added the "visible" icons when the two negates were revealed after game 3
This is the best UI I've seen on youtube, great job editor
Thank you! :D
The Silumgar play was great!!!
Love the contents in this channel
love this, play theros standard! rtr and theros was so cool and was my first time paying attention to pro magic
Oh man, this is a good throwback.
Love the channel guys. I really would like to see more pioneer and pauper. Thanks.
Pioneer and pauper are our favourite formats! We only get one gameplay video per week, but we'll have pioneer in 2 weeks :)
I've been binging the vs content lately, and I have to note: Whoever is editing these videos and choosing the music is doing an amazing job. Some games have some really tasteful and funky house music, and some have some jazzy tunes like this vid. Really exceptional, and the sound level is really good as well. Super good job.
Thank you! I put a lot of time into selecting the music to match the tone of the game :) it's nice when people notice
@@CardmarketMagic Cool. I do wonder who does the editing? Carl, Jamin, Thoralf? Or are you an unseen editor?
@The Miller it's all Carl. Jamin does Social Media and Thoralf runs the first ever cardmarket shop
@@CardmarketMagic Very cool! Doesn't seem like a three-man operation at all.
