    There is usually a gasket that goes on the threaded part on the inside of the barrel. Prevents leakage.

    Good for you. I bought everything except cinder blocks but never set it up. So dumb of me especially since you proved how easy it was. I will be getting another trash can and get it done. Thank you!!!

    The only problem is you’ll have a lot of water you can’t get out because of how high up the spigot is. We put all our barrels on top of cement blocks.

      Yep, you are right. There is water in it now, but below the spigot line. 😭 😂 next time I’ll put it much lower.

    What size gallon barrel did you use? Would a 32 gallon one be good?

      I actually did use a 32 gallon trash can. It's still holding up!

    Could you have not just attach the cloth to the top to keep the debris out and then folded it back and dip your watering can into the Barrel?
