Class act. Amazing on his guitar, introduced him to my middle son years ago who was learning to play and he spoke to him, and really pushed him to practice and learn. Awesome dude.

Sounds like the singer is a little sick here. I mean this as a compliment. He sounds like he is singing over a cold which is admirable.
Can you imagine if Journey would've gotten this guy? It would've been an AC/DC situation. Arnel is amazing but how the hell do you replace such an iconic singer in an equally amazing band and not put new songs for almost 11 years.
From what I understand Hugo did try out for the spot with Journey but they felt he looked too much like Steve and passed him over. Their loss.
He may look like Steve..a little bit he can't hold them notes. I'm not impressed.
He cant hit those notes like Steve could. He sing in a lower key then Steve.
Steve and I are from the same area of Calif. He is a few yrs older. In fact where he grew up

No...not as good as Arnel. Otherwise he would be singing those songs instead of Arnel. This guy is competent to be sure but he is more a look alike and he alters his natural voice to fit Perry's. Arnel is not an impersonator. He uses his natural voice that just happens to sound a great deal like SP's

Strongly disagree. I don't know if we're watching the same video, but Hugo sounds nothing like Perry. Sure, he has the same look, but can't sing nearly as good as Arnel, and definitely can't touch Perry in his prime.
Actually Neil passed on Hugo as the replacement because he was too close the the real thing! @@kskisser
I feel "Voyage" is the best tribute band for Journey. Hugo Valenti lead singer is very good; the closes to Steve Perry; but no one can perform songs or sound like Steve Perry #1 vocalist. Steve Perry was and will always be the voice of Journey. ❤😊

I’m hoping this guy takes over for Arnel when he gets tired of Schons and Cains games. Maybe he can shakeup those two toads that got a free ride on Steve Perry’s Voice. You don’t hear” no Johnathon Cain they are just a cover band” It’s Steve’s Voice and those incredible songs that made that band.

He looks like Steve Perry but the voice sounds weak like an aging Steve Perry very labored. Arnel's voice is a lot powerful and happened to be like SP' younger natural voice. I wont mind watching them though, fun is fun.
Well he is almost 60 years old. Perry didn't let us see or hear him slowly age, and his voice became raspy at the tail end of the 80s and Arnel is also beginning to wear down. Hugo started over 40 years ago.
Arnel is in his 50s and has been singing since the 70's with the AMO band then later the ZOO band.
Agreed. I think the other commenters here are friends of Hugo. This guy doesn't even come close to Arnel or a prime Steve Perry when it comes to his singing voice. He's got the Perry look, but that's it.
