"Evertale" Horror Game Ad Variant #1? What is this?!

- I've been getting this very weird ad lately that is supposedly for a mobile game called "Evertale" and have managed to get a screen capture of one variation of it. However, I have no idea if it actually has anything to do with the game. I would call it a hoax or something for April 1st but I did find some forums talking about people seeing it since February of this year. I unfortunately missed the first 2 seconds of the ad.
If you are wondering, Evertale has an ESRB rating of T, which would, at least in the United States, not allow for the content in this ad to be in the game.
My question is if this is an ARG, a teaser for a horror game based in the Evertale's game's world or something, or...anything. At the end of the day, someone is paying to have this shown as a seemingly legitimate ad with second variant to this one. I will be on the look out for the other version of this ad.
My personal theory is that whoever is making these ads just really wants to make their own rpg horror game.

It seems to be drawing inspiration off Omori for just about all of that, though that game isn't really pokemon, its more of a final fantasy/earthbond turn based thing.

I downloaded evertale expecting scary shit but instead it was just some anime game, my disappointment is un-measurable and my day is ruined.

Idk it might just be a long ARG cuz i judt looked in the google play store and the usual game preview pics are horror themed, but when i click them they are normal, it might be a future update teaser

Looked up this video after I saw variant 2. The scene starts with a trainer asks the professor why they keep sacrificing monsters to the lady in the house, the professor explains and meanwhile you see a a monster( pokemon) attached to a fence struggling. After the professors explanation eyes appear in the door of the house and shadowy hands grab the struggling monster and drag it into house with a shower of blood. I wish I could see it again to narrate it more accurately, but I was so entranced. One of the few youtube ads I haven't skipped.
Same, I also saw another variant where the player meets a monster at a waterfall it was so cool
I saw the same one I was tempting to download load untill I saw that people were saying it was fake

also the White Space layout from the Ad is almost exactly the same except bloody cause edgy horror i guess

I thought there were laws against false advertisement.
There is, but nobody actually enforces it. Outside of Google rarely kicking it off the store. But it's easy to avoid that by changing the games name.
Usually there are 3rd parties that makes these ads but the most of the time they don't look too much at the original material for the ads and instead make up some story for it.
Whatever game this is, it isn't Evertale. Saw the ad just now and it legitimately frightened me badly. I need to know what this actually is.

It is a bad marketing.
The only way I can see the meeting for the commercial happen would be:

It's not a game, idk why they made this ad. I think to get people to pay the $1 to buy their pokemon rip-off game.
Even I got really interested from the horror concept just to be disappointed that they're bullshit.

It's a RPG game in which the MC and his buddies he makes along the way try and stop a Natural Curse called the Pandemonium.
(Nope,Not the Ghost curse,It's a devil curse heh.)
And it's not horror,It's an adventure RPG.
So weird I was listening recently to some creepypasta pokemon videos and this popped out, it gave me the chills...
The fact that this is a real thing makes it scarier for me.
I have no idea. So basically they're using a completly false ad for a game that has none of this. They trick those who think their game is like this into downloading it and potentially disturb children. Especially those who like Pokémon which, uhhhhhh... are a lot. And Pokémon was always full of creepypastas but the difference is that most of these things are very subtile or hidden. THIS is full on nightmare fuel like holy shit.
Seems to be a new trend for fake mobile game ads after the sexualizing thing became less sucessful.

For anyone who like this trailer, go play Omori. The trailer completely rips off that game for clickbait.
I have no idea why these ads are playing. I played the game in the past and this could be a new event happening right now.
But let me tell you, Evertale is wildly different from the ad. While it does have monster capturing mechanics, you can use normal humans to fight. Like the trainer going in the fight as well. It's more of a gacha game than a 'Pokemon' type game. Even the artstyle is different as the game has the anime-ish art style you see most rpg games have
I figured as much. After checking the store page for the game, it seems to be unbelievably different from what the game is advertized to be on the store page. I did read that some people were really upset at the 2.0 update saying that is a shameless scam to get money from the player. I'm not sure how true that is but I noticed a lot of recent reviews mention it when giving a low star-rating. That may be pure coincidence though.
It hasn't changed beside making it more pay to win. These ads are just trying to get people to buy the game thinking it's something else. It's pretty messed up, cause it's legit a scam.

@@Sambath-oc8ss I'm baffled as well, but it's working. It got me interested instantly, but it's app logo threw me off cause it didn't match the art style at all. So I looked into it before buying it. Which some people don't, in turn is profits for them.
Tho, if anything, this shows if anyone did make a game like this, there's a market for it, and you better believe damn well I'll jump in it.

Half-human half-furry waifu bait ads are clearly not gonna work so evertale went with a creepy pasta approach on their ads.
There is so much about this that makes me so intrigued yet confused at the same time.
Obviously it's a fake ad and Evertale isn't at all like this, but then why do the images on the app store show glitches and hidden messages like "It seems you don't understand" and "Aren't you for forgetting something?"
It makes me think that whoever this Zigzagames are, they are either making an ARG, falsely advertising, or something else. Frankly, my interests have been peaked.

The ads for the this game could be made by another company, most likely an advertising company, it is most likely the advertisers decision after they where given the job to make Evertale ads, but they didn't stick to the original material and only took a few bits from the original game, in fact the bear in this video actually exist as a captuarble monster companion.
There was also one on in an arcade machine in the room but I noticed a computer with blood splatter on it evertale ads are weird

What pisses me off is that when it gas the learn more section it says it's free, has 4.6 stars and 3.7 million+ downloads. It has a 4.4 rating, 1 million+ downloads and it costs a dollar CAD. I'm more mad at the fact you have to pay when it says free under a video

I do agree with you. Someone besides others and me needs to bring a wider audience or at least spark more interest in this than just a bunch of people like you and me trying to rationalize this.
