I’m also 38! Taking the bar exam at this age. Shifting careers, still unmarried, the list goes on. Thanks for not letting me feel alone at this age. Blessings to you 🙏
I’m 44 and have a husband and son. However, I am NOT happy and wish, I was you…. I wish, I respected myself more and not settle. Also, wish I didn’t push myself at work so much, now I’m disabled and in a vulnerable state. Balance would have been better. Don’t feel bad for where you are at 38, many of us are even worse off… honestly!
Just turned 35 this month and I'm in the process of preparing to make big changes career-wise and some aspects of my life. Happy to know I'm not alone in thinking about these things. Keep it up!
Honestly, I think this video helped me realize that I don’t want to be an entrepreneur…I don’t want to think about work 24/7, and maybe that’s okay. I like clocking out and leaving work completely behind for the day. That being said, I can see how entrepreneurship would increase wealth…I think it would be worth it if I had that kind of drive in me.
So true. When people hear entrepreneurship they think they have to bring in millions to be "successful" which is far from it. Just being able to do what one enjoys doing and make 70k-100k from the business while on your own terms/time it's a huge underrated win.
As a 43 year old this really hits home. You study hard for a good job but what is a good job? I ended up in engineering thinking it's a good job. It's good pay but it's not my passion! I've started my own channel now. I'm wanting to work for myself doing what I'm passionate about and interested in. 90 subs so far but it will grow I'm certain of that! Great message and great video Poppy. Thanks
I'm so happy you made a start and I'm sure you can feel already that gaining each and every subscriber is so rewarding! It's the kind of feeling we don't experience in a typical job.
I quite high school at 10th grade because I didn’t want to fill my brain with things I wasn’t interested in, but like you wanted real world experience and learn skills and be mentored. I achieved everything I wanted to do and exceeded my expectations for careers. I started in the auto industry as a auto technician, then was a professional photographer traveling around the USA for Marriott Hotels, then I owned autobody business’s, got married and built a hair salon for my wife, then the recession hit we down sized, she sold the hair salon. I’m changing careers gradually to aviation educational courses I will teach future drone pilots and future private pilot certification programs with simulators. I’m 68 currently & I just survived prostate cancer and now the best health I’ve ever been, I hope to eventually travel and get back doing my biggest passion which is travel photography, and vlogging from around the world. 🌎 I wish you all the best and follow your personal path for choices, that are right for you. ❤🙏
I quit my corporate job in my early 30's and it was scary at first because I've never done it before. I was doing my business on the side while I still worked full time at my last corporate job and eventually made the leap to full time entrepreneurship. I agree with what you said about everyone's situation is different and people do different things to make entrepreneurship work for them. It was the best decision ever. Happy for you too!

Fellow entrepreneur here! Got up at 4:30 am today (and did not sleep more than an hour due to allergies) and I'm not upset about it. I'm excited. I love what I do and I know I'll have plenty of energy to make it through the day. Getting up at 5am every morning to get ready for my day job last year NEVER left me feeling excited like this. Entrepreneurial adventure aren't necessarily easy, but man it feels good knowing you can do something you care about. So good. I hope those watching can also find something they love and make it work for them. Life is too short to suffer! ❤
Just found your channel and I’m grateful! I’m 35 and in my worst shape physically and mentally. Trying to rebuild a healthier foundation for myself and your journey gives me energy 🙏
Good video - the first of yours that i have seen. Keep up the good work. You relay your ideas well. Your personality really connects thru the camera. Not everyone can tell a story as well as you. Be thankful. I had very similar feelings on starting a business. I was 49 when i retired from corporate life. Started a landscaping business, partly by random coincidence , and LOVED it!! I gained independence, adequate money, flexibility and joy. I did something i was passionate about. My customers and employees saw this. And i was always busy. I always give extra without a feeling of needing a return. I retired again 9 years ago, when My wife reminded me that we could do other things. I don’t miss the paperwork. I gave the business to my key employees that were a reason for my success. I have more ideas on activities than i have time to do, sometimes it’s just about taking a small step in a new direction. Inspiring, as usual. I put tons of effort into switching careers thinking I could find a way to avoid being miserable at work. I'm working at what is probably my dream company, but the dread of rolling into the office is starting to slowly creep in again.... I think corporate life is just not for me
Congratulations on making the leap! Incredibly inspiring to hear about your challenges and milestones along the way, from working on your first CZcams channel on the side to buying the grooming business.
I felt this I'm 39 I have a 9 to 5 I can't complain about but don't really want it I just started a amazon print business with no luck yet I'm also a massage therapist in training I realize most recently I really don't want to work for other people but we do what we can to survive 🙂😎🤷🏾♀️
I was lucky to be able to witness this early on my career, started my entrepreneurial journey at 21 and left the company at 25 and now am in a corporate, and because my circle were mostly entrepreneurs previously, they still try to pull me back, and that I’m wasting my time working for a corporate. While I do miss the perks of entrepreneurship, I’m glad that I don’t need to work 24/7, but who knows what’ll happen in the future But it’s your life, you can do whatever you want!
Hi from Thailand! Your story resonates with me so much. So reassuring to know that there is someone out there who is going through the same journey. Keep going, and I'm rooting for you ka😄
Thank you for such an honest and informative video again! For me, living the corporate life my entire career, entrepreneurship was always a dream, yet felt so intimidating and ‘too late’ in my late 30’s. I quit my job to go back to school a few years back, now with thoughts of choosing corporate vs. entrepreneurship. Your inner perspectives connect with a lot of us, which we would otherwise never hear first hand. Grateful for your videos.. good luck on your journey. 🙏🙌
I'm also 38, ran business since before i graduated. 2 years ago i closed it because I couldnt bring it further, and drained too much of my energy. Made some money in between, lost a lot in the end. Rested for 2 years and now here i try something new again. Wish you good luck for your business.

Amazing video I can relate to this a lot as a South Asian American and felt very depressed because I was forced into engineering like an other south Asian person but want to pursue my passion.
I've been working at my corporate job for decades and I remain unhappy even though my schedule is flexible and my team are amazing. I think in my life I'm continuing to search for my passion and I haven't discover it yet. But I do know I don't want to work for a corporate for the rest of my life and I do want to run my own business one day.
2:15 Yes it does resonates. Even this months, when I'm kinda between jobs, I've made confession to myself, that any job I apply to, won't be good for me. As previous was not. Theres always something wrong. And that's because 9-5 is not my path. I should do entrepreneurship, again.
I changed my job from a manager and a top manager to a tutor of English for children at 32. The best choice ever! Being a tutor for 9 years. Never regret
Good to do it ! You don't have a choice !! You all gone with the jobs opportunities and high competition and lack of opportunity.. take it and plan first 🎉🎉
i really wants to quit my job but i'm afraid to quit cause i already have mortgage, hence i'm doing my side hustle while i'm working 9-5 but i have no life :(
Turned 37 this year and feeling like I have 0 clue what I’m going to do. I’m so miserable at my corporate job. I rented out my house and moved in with my mom with the plan to travel and figure out where I want to move. I’ve done a little traveling, but that hasn’t been fulfilling. My mom has around 12 acres in NC she said I can have. I would LOVE to buy a small home I can quickly pay off to put on that land, have an amazing space for my dogs to roam and maybe do my own dog sitting business but the catch is it’s land locked and my mom hasn’t been able to get permission from the surrounding landowners to get an easement. I know getting a lawyer would be long and drawn out and most importantly, expensive, a cost I don’t think I can afford. I don’t know if I really want to have to run my own business, that’s a lot of work too even though it’s for myself. I just want a simpler life not having to worry about this rat race. But I think I’d give it a go at CZcams if I could get that land.
I’m 40 and have been a stay at home mom/ work at home mom for 20 years. I’ve had several small business ventures (wedding photography, jewelry, tee shirt designs, instagram content creator, reseller) so many things… I am now ready to find a more stable income producing job. I started insurance (mainly life) in January but haven’t found my groove in that yet. Idk what I want to do but I want to work remotely and have a flexible schedule. I feel overwhelmed thinking about it. I’d like to create content full time but don’t enjoy the editing process AT ALL and would need to hire that out if I go that route. Anyone else in a similar situation?
Im 27 and still don’t know what i want to do, I’ve had a few different jobs and I’ve hated them all because of mostly the toxic work environments I’ve been in. I’m still stuck in a job I hate and I’ve worked for 3yrs, gave my resignation last month and they’ve begged me to stay. I’ve now started to do a side hustle on the weekends so i see if i will enjoy it. But i want to leave this job once ive saved my 6 months emergency fund.
I am still discerning which business I want to start, I want something in lined with my interest. In this way, I don't need to struggle in doing a business that I felt forced / uninterested resulting in hiring people to do it for me. As of the moment I can't quit my job to go full entrepreneur, I think it is still better to do it simutaenously at least to have a fallback in case one of these options did not succeed. Thanks for uploading videos that spark realizations worth pondering about. 😊
In 36 years of work or job not a career I have never liked any job I have had (I like the paycheck). simply put, I didn't keep any job because of the company the folks I met any of that I just used my skill set that I learned to move on to the next job (never have been scared of work the distance none of that) once again the money kept me working. I have a simple life not over indulging in it just living.
I never worked corporate job apart from 2years since I graduated. I think I might give it a try. I think it is not so hard. Government jobs are good too. They can't fire you even if you never show up. How good is that?
This video lost my attention almost immediately because it skipped one MASSIVE piece of information. This is like a textbook process for me. All i was immediately looking for was something like a ring on that finger, not because you're married but because having a second individual around affords you MASSIVE MASSIVE benefits for additional income or chores, meal prep, etc. Im just under halfway through this video and im shifting away now because it appears to be an obvious time grab....
Love this video babes. This might be personal and you don’t have to share but I wondered what happened to your house in the UK? Did you sell it on or hold on to it ? 😘
At the age of 38, I moved from Thailand to the US. I did try so hard to get 9-5 job here. It was so difficult for me since English is not my first language. But at the end I got a corporate job here. Don’t scare of things that not happening yet. Cheer up ❤
Please advise what courses on CZcams you have taken or what books/sources have you read, what helped you to develop your CZcams channel? I want to start a channel but my knowledge is not enough.
as a women living in country where men lead women where i dont have the right of job because im women eventhough im educated where i have no life i could not wear clothes that i would like i could not go out time i want. im lost i want to immigrate i dont have money no help i want to start business online the problem im facing im stuck i dont have ideas its blurb so any one here if could suggest ideas ill be gratfull thank you ❤
How did you shift to the US doing entrepreneurship? Is there a pathway for that. I really want to start my own business (two possibly) but just need to start my plans..
Hi @ReinventingPoppy 👋🏽😊 I’m about to be 40 yrs old in Oct and I started my FIRST company in March 2016 and I FAILED miserably bc of my lack of knowledge and wisdom about operating a business. I’ve started other registered companies and it did get a lil’ BETTER as during the pandemic in 2020-2022 things changed drastically for the “Corporate Landscape of working for someone else and building their dreams” I OFFICIALLY got into the (Commercial & Corporate Lending Arena) I started a NEW corporation company in July 2023 and we’ve built a small corporate executive leadership team and we’ve grown and partnered with several nonbank commercial lending partnerships and WILL BE SOON having our own network of “Direct Commercial Lenders” as we're currently closing on submissions on BIG Construction Development Projects. I SUBSCRIBED to your channel and looking forward to possibly speaking with you or scheduling a Zoom appointment if you’re available in August 🙂 -Coach Paulie D

I am here for this, Im 32 and quit 3 wks ago
I'm also 38 now and just quit my job last July. Now, I am studying how to do trading and looking for something to invest in.
Congrats!
Great to see your video ❤
Thanks for the video. It came in a good time ❤
You're welcome 😊
Can you talk more about the dog grooming business you purchased?
This video lost my attention almost immediately because it skipped one MASSIVE piece of information. This is like a textbook process for me. All i was immediately looking for was something like a ring on that finger, not because you're married but because having a second individual around affords you MASSIVE MASSIVE benefits for additional income or chores, meal prep, etc. Im just under halfway through this video and im shifting away now because it appears to be an obvious time grab....
My soulmate. Greetings from Costa Rica
Love the reality and the tips ❤
I'm glad to hear hun ❤
I am finishing universitt begin 30s after that ill leave for japan, im from europe netherlands but i dont feel there is a future for me here
Love this video babes. This might be personal and you don’t have to share but I wondered what happened to your house in the UK? Did you sell it on or hold on to it ? 😘
Don't mind sharing at all. We rent it out via letting agency ☺️
@@reinventingpoppy thank you doll, that’s very helpful information 😘
At the age of 38, I moved from Thailand to the US. I did try so hard to get 9-5 job here. It was so difficult for me since English is not my first language. But at the end I got a corporate job here. Don’t scare of things that not happening yet. Cheer up ❤
Please advise what courses on CZcams you have taken or what books/sources have you read, what helped you to develop your CZcams channel? I want to start a channel but my knowledge is not enough.
Ali Abdaal offers a good course.
@@rhythmicelegance4670 what`s your results if he offers a good one? or its just your hypothesis that he has a good course?
Love your hair so pretty
Thank you 😊
You have to make a video about the bull terrier.

Excellent advice madam ☝️
How did you shift to the US doing entrepreneurship? Is there a pathway for that. I really want to start my own business (two possibly) but just need to start my plans..
Hey I applied for an E2 Visa.
E2 is great. I'm a Canadian so I'm looking into it as well😮
how many times have you quit your 9-5 job? I thought you were already full time entrepreneur / influencer for a while now.
Nope been doing social media on the side of my full time job this whole time. I quit in May this year and took over the biz as soon as I quit :)
Its still a job. Yay
Wow, just subscribed
Hi, I studied master's at the age of 36...really want to connect with you..
36 same here
Hi @ReinventingPoppy 👋🏽😊 I’m about to be 40 yrs old in Oct and I started my FIRST company in March 2016 and I FAILED miserably bc of my lack of knowledge and wisdom about operating a business.
