Got an amazing deal for my optical silver switch gk61. The red body version was on sale for $30 and got some hyper x pudding keycaps for $20 and for $50 its hella great. Will look into possibly lubing later on but not something essential to me rn. Its my first linear keyboard and i’m in love with silver silver switches i used to use brown switches which are good but just linears man feel so much better even for regular typing

Another enjoyable and awesome review MTR 👍🤩🥳! Doing a great job on the videos and reviews! I purchased this keyboard, GK61 and ultimately switched to the Royal Kludge RK84 for its awesome wireless and vg Bluetooth functionality 👍🥰. I agree thou the GK61 is a very good keyboard and the versatility of the fn-key options etc & RGB make it a terrific budget gaming keyboard. I try to get either “Silent Linear” or “Linear” for my preferred preference 🥰🤩😉. If I can’t get those, I’ll go to tactile before …. “Clicky” switches 😥🤢🤮.

thanks for your coments I didn't know which one to buy, i was thinking between gateron optical silver/red/yellow. I play and work in home sooo, i finally decided gateron red for gaming and work, thanks for the video

thanks the yellow can have more errors but i heard silvers should help of both worlds type and gaming depends how you have you hand on the keyboard

How do the Gateron silvers compare to the yellows and whites? Is the silvers smoother or is it the same?
Oh and and is it better to get the silvers and the whites cause they've a 5-pin version, or would getting the silvers with 3-pin be better?
Yellows are slightly lighter than silvers so they are faster. Silver maybe more forgiving in typing but both are pretty quick. Both are linear and smooth.
This keyboard only supports optical gateron switches so neither 3 or 5 pin
u should do more time sound testing but overall a great video keep it up

Bro, One question. In order to use the arrow keys. Do we need to press function? Or are we gonna use function keys to activate the control buttons

I would go brown and silver
Silver for gaming and brown for typing

Hey! It’s very similar since they are both linear, I generally prefer red for typing and gaming use

i bought this keyboard a while back with the same switches and i wanted to say that the software is kinda finicky despite the multiple tutorials i tried to follow. i couldn’t get it to set of of my own colours as a option but i did figure out how to use the other premade options so it’s not that bad and they have some fairly nice colour options. i’m sure the software works but since it’s a budget keyboard i’m not mad about it being not exactly consumer friendly

What if I were to buy aftermarket keycaps? I know that there are some nice rubber ones that actually look pretty cool. Do u think that would be worth it?
Yea there is a lot of options if you don’t like the keycaps! The keyboard is great

Does keycaps really matter that much.I couldn't find a keyboard as good as this one.So I am little bit confused should I go for it.
No the keycaps don’t matter much and you can buy any set of keycaps to replace them if you don’t like them as I mentioned. Overall it’s a great keyboard and I think it’s worth it :)

Got a question I got the Hk gaming gk61 and when it came in the box was white and the cable was not braided and was just a normal usd C cable and the sides are not glossy did they change it
Not that I know of! You can try another unit to check
what gaterons do you think i should get, im thinking black mech rn or silver opt.
The silver optical are better for gaming because they are faster, but black mech will be better if you use it for both typing and gaming.

Hmm I think it’s the only way
iirc you can press fn twice to kinda function lock the key so you can use the function key without having to hold fn

Silver but really depend of what your going for if your going for gaming yellow or silver and silver is cheaper so get silver
