The dad honestly looks sorry for his daughter and they look like really nice people. I hope the dad gets his addiction sorted out for him and his family
This is one of the saddest episodes to me.. The girl is super optimistic and smiles a lot even though she is going through so many hardships :(. She is such a strong and intelligent girl with a bright future💘
hyunjean for me this is the 2nd saddest episode. The saddest for me is the one where the dad favored his younger son. The oldest there even said he doesn’t think that his dad loves him.
BUT THAT GIRL IS SO INTELLIGENT AND STRONG. I really hope the dad stopped smoking so that they can have a stronger bond.

That little girls friends sound more like bullies, throwing her brand new scarf and telling her who would want to be friends with her is truly heart breaking, I feel so sorry for her . She was excited to show off her new scarf and having it thrown because of the smell of cigarette is just plain mean.
Tbh,true friends won't stop becoming friends with you because you smelled. But maybe they are still young and not mature enough to think
You can tell how upset he is with himself. Its been happening for so long and it's so hard to stop. He is missing the will power. Thats a hard thing to gain. Hope he finds strength after this.

I kind of felt sorry for the dad because he kept putting his head down but one pack and a half of smoke each day. And the girl cried so much.ㅠㅠ
You can't just force him to stop smoking by guilt tripping him. Smoking is a serious addiction which is tied closely with your mental state. People smoke so much that they feel that they can't function without it for too long. He's not a bad father at all and you can tell he feels bad about making his daughter's life hard but quitting smoking isn't as easy as seeing a few tears. It'll take a while but with motivation and support, he'll slowly grow out of it.
I don't think guilt tripping is their main intention. I think they just wanted to state the facts. If you don't remember what's at stake, you might not have the determination to quit. That's what I'm thinking at least. They are mostly speaking from the daughter's POV
Yeah I agree, I think those kinds of shows should have professional help from an objective third party that knows what it is like to be in this kind of situation, I think the father started smoking more when his wife walked out on their family since the daughter mentions she noticed this behaviour when she was 6 which coincided with that event.

My husband used to smoke. We have been married for five years and I made him stop as soon as we marry. He had been smoking for 9 to 10years.. Back then, he could finish a pack per day, which are 20cigs in total. I didnt know him smoking before, he also never smoked in front of me. It was not easy at all. But thanks to Allah he made it right away. Some time ago, he wanted to try vape. But I forbid him as it would create another addiction.

Someone have been smoking since 18, and am sure that man right there is 50 something now, and you think his making an excuse by saying his addicted. That aint an excuse, thats real addiction right there. Once your addicted to something, its hard to do away with it. That man is really addicted to smoking for him to be smoking two packs a day. I hope he quit smoking, and be healthy for your daughter, yourself, and family.

Bri-Anna Mitchell This is true. I lost a relative to secondhand smoke related cancer more than a decade before the actual smoker passed from cancer.
this breaks my heart, salute to the little girl, she's really mature in her age and the way she talk about her dad tears me up. i know quitting is hard because of the nicotine and other stuffs in the cigar but it doesn't mean that it's impossible, before something even bad happen which makes us regrets even more, her dad really should quit. for the sake of his family and also his health. i hope her and her family are doing great now :)

i love how the big woman (sorry, don't know her name) tried to easy the situation once in a while. like when she was crying she started asking question about the ramen. i believe she did that on purpose to ease the situation. she seems like a very lovely woman. she knows how to make kids feel at ease. she laughs at herself wich is something if find super amazing. these days everyone is so self offended, its refreshing to see someone who isn't.

I read somewhere that he suffered from mental illness and he was diabetic. He was struggling. You can tell for the last few seasons that he was down and looked kinda distant.
he knows what he's doing but his mentality isn't strong enough. i really wish he'd fight that temptation for his daughter :(
My Dad was a heavy smoker since I was young. I'd always tell him to stop but he'd always make an excuse for it. 10 years later he got diagnosed with throat cancer and is now going through Chemo and Radio therapy. He stopped smoking completely without an excuse but now is suffering through the numerous amounts of doctor appointments and therapies. I feel this girl because I was once her, I just hope her dad realises because it's not too late, it's never too late.
My Mom is a smoker too, she started when she was 20 untill now, she's already 46. It's makes me so sad and I was worried for her health but the most hardest is we didn't do anything just to stop her addiction. The thing is she drinks a lot of water, almost 10-15 glasses everyday. I'm still thankful cuz her health is fine and never had to go in hospital. I feel this girl, I'm also worried and more frustrated because right now my eldest sister and older brother are smoker too. I feel so sick seeing and thinking for their health. That's why I grow up for being sensitive when it comes to smell. 💔😭😭😭
No hate or anything but drinking that much water is actually bad for you, she's going to dilute her blood and have low sodium levels. It will cause serious health problems. Please do try to help her quit smoking, I lost my grandfather to lung cancer from smoking.

The dad seems kind hearted and it looks like he does love his family. As someone who has suffered from a drug addiction before, just know that once you're addicted to something, it's really hard to stop it. People saying he should just quit, doesn't understand that it's 10x harder than that. This poor father needs medical professionals to intervene or step in and he also needs help around the farm. The stress could be encouraging his addiction.
It always annoys me how drinking alcohol everyday is no problem, but once somebody says they smoke everyday everyone in the room gasps. What the dad is doing is not right, but they shouldn't underestimate what alcohol does to the body.
I think it's more because alcohol causes a lot more problems for families if if its abused. There have been multiple stories on this show about smoking problems and at least the father in this one has acknowledged his daughter's concern and wants to try quitting.

@@LoveRauraAndAuslly I believe they do, or at least to cut down on drinking. But drinking has become such a culture there, not to mention some of the hosts enjoy drinking themselves, that they can't really say stop. Just to make sure that you don't hurt those around you with drinking habits

I hope that there’s a follow up to see if the dad really reduced the amount of cigarettes he smokes and also the daughter has such a nice personality and the dad seems to love his daughter a lot so i wish them the best❤️

This episode really got me, they both seem like really nice people that don’t deserve the pain that targets them. I also noticed that the little girls finger nails are literally yellow at the ends, I hope everything works out in the end for them as I know quitting smoking isn’t something you can just simply do, especially when you’ve been smoking for so long.
Stories like these just shatter my heart into pieces cause it is a lovely family but its just we all struggle with our inner demons :(. The little girl is so precious and cute I hope she grows up well :(

my main concern with this isn’t at all that others may talk about her, or that her dad may get sick. my main concern is the effects of second hand smoking. she’s living in a house where her father is constantly smoking, she’s constantly breathing in the smoke and there’s nowhere else she can go. he’s made his decision in smoking, and i know it’s hard to quit, he’s made the choice. she has no choice and she could very well seriously suffer medically because of him. i hope he’s able to get the help he needs, because he isn’t the only one at risk when he smokes.

I can relate because I went through a stage like this when I was young with my & trying to get my dad to stop was impossible for me so I stopped asking him. Seeing this little girl, sending her concern in for her dad makes me so proud as a person who has went through this. From experience, I know it's hard but she's overcome that fear of just asking him to stop & sent in her concern to make sure that he stops and gets his health on track. If you know, you know but for anyone who relates, we needa take notes & make some changes!

She reminds me of my niece, she recently lost her dad (my brother) and they were the bestest friends and now my niece has to grow up without her dad, I really hope he keeps his promise to her. i'm sorry but i don't agree when he said you're using addiction as an excuse. i was a smoker as well, i went trough some shit when i was 18 and i started smoking. i was a chain smoker at the age of 19. at some stressful days i would smoke 3 packs a day. i decides to quit halfway my 20th year. believe when i tell you that the first week without smoking was worse than hell. didn't sleep for 5 days. couldn't eat and started overdrinking (water)and throwing up. i drank 2 liters of water in one sitting and end up throwing up. the whole week was like that. i was annoyed the whole time. got aggresieve for no reason. i would have never pulled it off withiut my friends. i had 2 friends sleeping with me every night because i tried getting out of the house with force if needed to buy a pack of smokes. i'm never touching that shit again, not after experiencing that.

I can see the amount of love between the father and daughter. It is heart-touching to me, however, the thing is I was surprised that she can’t smell the cigarette due she used to it. I see so much through her hardship and endure the worry and pain of her father’s health issue. Thing is, the father said to promise to quit smoking as soon as possible but I doubtful he can’t promise to quit soon but I meant he can reduce to smoke little by little.
aw poor girl. she's sooooo cute, like i can not express it enough. i love when kids have her kind of positive attitude and charisma, and care about others. the family is very sweet and expresses themselves in a very clear manner, however the smoking is a huge no. i might have a hard time understanding the addiction because i smoked ONE cigarette before (as an act of rebellion because i'm stupid) and it was the most disgusting thing i have ever put in my mouth. my dad is a heavy smoker too. my dad dotes my brother and i a lot but he does not care about anyone but himself. he smokes about a pack to two packs a day as well and i've told him many times on my birthdays that my birthday wish was for him to stop smoking but he never did. that was when i was patient. the thing with us is, we live in a small apartment with one bathroom and he smokes in there a lot. and in the car as well. my mom, brother and/or i can get very sick from it but i don't think my dad thinks secondhand smoke is lethal and extremely dangerous. i know he does not care about his own health because my aunt once told him he shouldn't smoke so much and that he could die faster but he jokingly replied "that's the point." i also hate his sense of humor.

The girl reminds me of my younger sister and my uncle, who smokes a lot. She is a very smart girl, when she was younger I would teach her how to be more optimistic and share our problems freely without burden. Our uncle smokes a lot and that concern us, I live in Korea while they live in Japan. I'm currently working for my little sister who is performing well at school, I feel like a mother. I'm always proud of her and her achievements.

14:11 I would love to be her friend eventhough im like a few years older. she can cook omelettes, bibimbabs, and more when i can only cook instant noodles with sausages and boiled eggs from 7-11. She endured the smells for almost all her life and even was very worried about her father when 2nd hand smoking is also bad because of the chemicals released. i know that its very darn hard to quit smoking but he should because of his daughter. gosh, i need a girl like that in my life. his habit could be brought down to her daughter too which is worser . i hope everything works out !

I can relate to her so badly. My dad has been smoking ever since I was young. I think even before I was born. He smokes everyday and same like Daeun's dad. He smokes in the car, at home and the bathroom. He also smokes like every 20 minutes or even lesser. Even though I tell my dad to quit and that he will die early, he doesn't care. My dad is really stubborn so it is difficult....
