  • Dream a Little Dream of Me is a 1931 song written by Fabian Andre and Wilbur Schwandt with lyrics by Gus Kahn. It was first recorded in February 1931 by Ozzie Nelson and also by Wayne King and His Orchestra, with vocals by Ernie Birchill. A popular standard, it has seen more than 60 other recorded versions. I personally love Ella Fitzgerald singing it, but Doris Day also covered it.
It was covered in 1968 by Cass Elliot with The Mamas & the Papas and achieved its highest-charting success with Mama Cass's beautiful voice. More than 40 other versions have been recorded by the Mills Brothers, Sylvie Vartan, Henry Mancini, The Beautiful South, Anne Murray, Erasure, Michael Bublé (ANOTHER ONE OF MY FAVOURITES), Tony DeSare, Eddie Vedder, Karen Fukuhara and Italian vocal group Blue Penguin.
I hope you enjoy my rendition of this beautifully simple song.
