God, watching that actor in pain had _me_ in pain. He was so good. I actually found myself staring at the screen, gripping my controller like, "It's okay, buddy. Hang in there. We can do this. It's not that bad. Don't cry. You're gonna be okay." And then every time he got scared I tried to like, pat his back with the cursor.

Here's my thing: Regardless of what ending you pick, you see trees and grass flourishing outside. At the beginning of the game, when the mom is giving birth, you hear a bomb drop right on top of them. That means that all of the vegetation and wildlife in the area would've been completely incinerated. Now, grass can still grow in low levels of radiation, but not trees. So I think most of the surface is probably safe. However, since John has a severely broken arm and grew up depending on his mom, I find it hard to believe that he'd be able to survive up there for very long on his own. Unless he finds other survivors who've travelled to the surface, he might be in trouble. His immune system is also probably shit because he's been living off of canned food and he's never had any contact with the sun, which explains why his bones are so brittle. I do like this ending because it's so open, but if you look at the facts, John might be in trouble. The only way I see him surviving is if he meets another person who can show him the ropes and treat his arm.
I know this is a 2 years old comment but... did you notice the huge modern telecom towers in the back? lol Either a huge mistake or they are making it obvious in the alternate ending that the world managed to recover itself while he was locked inside and everybody forgot about the bunker(s).
I don't remember seeing proof of actual nuclear explosions in the area, but they really had a problem with radiation on the ventilation. I just don't understand how come there was so much radiation stored on their equipment, this part makes no sense to me.
@@SatoshiTajiri I think a bomb was probably dropped, but it may have been a small bomb dropped directly over the bunker. Hiroshima and Nagasaki rebuilt themselves within 5 years of being bombed, I think something similar may have happened here. I personally think that society recovered and moved on, having entirely forgotten about the existence of the bunkers or assuming everyone in them had died like all the other bunkers had.
I assume radioactive material had gotten into the vents long beforehand.

Not that anybody ever gonna read this, but i finished this game in 2020, i realy enjoyed it.
I realy loved the setting with those old computers, documents, isolation, human drama.
Its not the longest fmv game, you can finish it with a couple of hours.
I'll hope there will be another game with similar setting with a bit more depth and gameplay, maybe the stories from the other bunkers. nonetheless they did a great job to make a story that you cant predict on first hand.

this is a really good game, i have played through once so i am seeing some new things. its a very shitty situation to find oneself in, especially if youve been mentally conditioned since birth to stay in your room. i kind of wish they worked more locations in the bunker into the screen or had a accurate in-game map. Is this kelvedon hatch?

his mother had planned to kill everyone to keep all the food for her and her son from the start, after she heard all the lies from the commander.
she told her son to release the bacteria while lied to him why everyone disappeared.
kept him in shelters for years before things went awry when her son tried to escaped.
now that's a deep story.

very interesting. i ended up getting this today, was on sale. I enjoy these concepts and the mix of being interactive and also watching a "film" at the same time kind of thing is neat. best of both worlds lol but that ending ugh! i skipped a lot so not to spoil what was going on.. everything that was going on within the bunker is the key.. not that abrupt halt at the end, even if its abrupt.. and leaves you empty and lifeless lol many games do that to you as well as TV.. i'd like to see another "episode" if you will of this game/film come out of it all. popularity wins over all at the end of the day. thankyou for this

I just bought and finished this game. It was pretty good and the story was good but I wished there was more varying gameplay other than just pressing here and there. And I wish the game would have made use of the joycons too.
I wish I watched this video before I purchased since it's basically the same thing.

They should of just done this as a short film. The point and click was more annoying then fun and having to rapid click hurt my thumb on Ps4. Haha! I gave up on the last one and just watched the ending on here. I couldnt do it fast enough and wasnt inspired enough to care. This is a new game concept and they could of done something WAY cooler with it.. in my opinion.
This reminds me of the X-Files game for PC, that FMV puzzle game, as it were. But I don't remember The X Files ending with a flashback showing the mass poisoning of a Fallout Vault.

U will get a gold trophy if u press stay at 1:33:23 but then wait and exit the game, then continue the game and u will start somewhere close (where u pressed stay) then press leave on ur left.
Since the air filters had not been replaced for awhile, that means the radiation outside is very much down. So, why is there radiation inside?

He would't survive, the bunker still has radiation, so the outside will as well. He also has quite a bit of exposure with his cut arm.

I know this is kind of a late answer but she killed them because they'll run out of supplies for everyone before they reach 30 years there.
@@annieweasley3339 Haha very, very late answer. You're right. The general story was that everyone had evacuated to bunkers due to there apparently being some sort of nuclear warfare that made the surface uninhabitable. Stuff happens (the flashbacks John has), then Margaret finds out that they lack the food needed to survive another 20-30 years whereby then the surface will presumably become safe again. So she decides to create some sort of toxic liquid and burn it into the air so that everyone would die in order for them (mainly her son) to survive off the food themselves. Fast forward 30 years later and then the events of the game happen.
Also, it wasn't safe outside. 30 years after "flashback John" was when it was gonna be safe. The only thing I'm not sure about is if the general actually killed people or went specifically for Margaret.

After the 4th time failing the QT event of his leg getting grabbed I just shut it off. Not like the game requires much "playing" anyway... I did like the twist, but both options sucked and didn't really amount to any satisfying payoff.

It'd take 20-30 years for it to be safe to leave the bunker, so he's perfectly fine to leave

Presence of trees and grass isn't an indication that radiation levels are low. Look at the exclusion zone around Pripyat and Chernobyl, the plant life there is flourishing but radiation levels are still too high for humans to live there safely.

This game makes you feel like you are in it if you actually play it rather than watch it. By just watching it, you are losing out on the tense nature of some of the sequences (especially the last part where you have to run up the steps) .
