- We're building a pair of B5M / SC5M drag race cars! No Prep Street Eliminator RC drag racing is an up and coming segment of the hobby that's really gaining a lot of momentum, and I decided that it was time to get involved. Since it's no fun to drag race along, I'm building a pair of similar cars for my son and I to race against each other.
Both vehicles are utilizing the following hardware:
SC5M / B5M based platforms
Hobbystar 4300kv Sensored 550 sized Brushless motors:

Castle Monster X Electronic Speed Controls:

Sweet!! Look forward to seeing them done, would love to see the bumper build.
I can't wait for a update
me too! I hope I get some time to start working on them again soon. I haven't had time to touch them since I posted this video. I've been busy with a lot of guitar projects (one of my other hobbies).
Even if no one watch the videos it’s all for the FUN and you get to keep a recorded memory to share and releve those moments. 👍👍
Dude your video is awesome. Very helpful and thank you
That IRock is bad ass! The mustang is ok. Lol Awesome stuff!
Thanks for the info on the z28 body. Currently have an octane body on my car, looks like a new body is in the works.
Omg love it. Been looking for a 3rd gen camaro body for a long time. I will be looking forward to c where it goes. 👍
thanks for making the video. id love to see a comparison between the mid motor and rear motor drag cars. im currently deciding what configuration and chassis i want to build and that has been on my mind. also id definitely watch the bumper fab video
Straight line, how hard can it be, lol that's funny, there's so much prep in no prep drag racing that I do not understand the name
Nice builds! I'd like to see you make the custom bumpers....building a jconepts Grand National and need to fill the space..front and rear.
Can’t wait to see the next video. I’m also making an iroc drag car.
11:07💪🏼✊🏼 right regular street car not typical drag look
Nice video. Question, what is the wheel well diameter on the IROC? Considering the IROC body and need to determine the overall tire diameter to make a proper fit. Thanks again.
Not real sure, but a 95-98mm diameter wheel would look best, but they aren't really a common size. I went with D Boots tires, which are a little over 100mm diameter. They look a little big, but they're the best that I could find.
Nice Video👌 I subscribed
To make it look more realistic @ 1/10 scale, not bad. 1/8th or 1/7 would be perfect for this car👍
DE racing has some good options for SC wheels. Even TLR offset in many styles.
Did you get them finished and running? Would love to see a follow up video! Thanks
Nope. Still haven't run them. 😕
@@BudgetRC_Channel sometimes we have other things that either come up unexpectedly or weren't planned. But hey that's life! I'm sure you'll get back to your projects before you know it. Think positive, you'll live positive.
Great video! How much does the setup cost?
It depends on a lot of factors, but when they're both 100% finished, they should come in at around $500/each.
Greetings I have a question I have a buggy and use the 12mm hexagonal tires, will the tires that your 1/10 scale mounts use it?
Yes, these wheels all use 12mm hex. It is important to understand offset though, because as I showed in the video, that has a significant impact on fitment.
there is now a iroc drag body
ya man do um up for sure watch...
This video is slowly but surely pushing me to build a no prep drag car. Looks like lots of fun ahead!
Where did you get that shirt? I want one!
I picked up the shirt here: www.libertariancountry.com/

Hi brow i Would se The bumper Build
So any updates? It’s been 7 months.. I hear going straight isn’t so easy 😁
Unfortunately, no. They haven't been touched since. ☹️
@@BudgetRC_Channel Why not!? Seems like this video got a ton of views. Lots of people interested. Would be cool to see what the outcome is.
Back in the day pegusas hobbies had 1/10 scale iroc body wide body fit traxxas bandit or the 1/10 buggies.
HAHAHA nice shirt bro!
What happen 2 these cars where's the new update
Been too busy to RC. ☹️
Guess I need to find a Low Budget RC youtuber......... More then I got.
I do a lot of low budget builds and reviews of low budget vehicles on this channel, but low budget doesn't always mean "cheap". As far as building a No Prep drag car goes, these builds ARE budget based. I started with inexpensive used RCs, used budget servos, and budget motors. The only area where I splurged was in the ESC, and unfortunately, that's necessary when running huge 550 motors on 2S, because the current demands are pretty extreme. These builds could have easily cost 2x or 3x what they did.
@@BudgetRC_Channel Saw price of motor and that had me.
@@BudgetRC_Channel Saw $65.99 for motor and was turned off buy that price. Wow and the speed controller: USD $164.95
@@ke0ourwilliam982 Most sensored 550 sized motors are extremely expensive. If you look at a comparable sensored 550 from Tekin, they're $160, so $65 for the Hobbystar is a great price. But yeah, the ESC is expensive, but that's an area where you can't skimp. Big 550 cans on 2S are going to pull massive current, and as much as I like cheap ESCs, using one in this kind of application is like lighting your cash on fire and watching it burn. Sometimes the more expensive option is the best option, and when it comes to ESCs in this kind of build, this rings true. I saved money everywhere I could, but a cheap no-name ESC just won't work here.
Show it
Show what?
Budget RC how you build with the kydex
@@rcmindset2876 gotcha! If I get enough interest I will. In the meantime, here's another video where I show the process for working with Kydex: czcams.com/video/wLydy2boG4A/video.html
Made it to 8:49 when I realized what shirt you were wearing. I already deal with too many politics to stare at a political shirt in rc videos.
Maybe you should have stared a little bit longer until you saw that it says "don't cough on me" and that the snake had a mask on. It's a funny shirt, not a political one.
Budget RC that’s what makes it political not funny
@@coreybeaty8528 you can find political outrage in anything if you're trying hard enough. My advice to you is to stop trying.
