I can see how this game may have partially inspired Mega Man. The protagonist and musical style seem pretty similar, and it was developed by Capcom after all.
Excuse me? There's piles and piles of information on the internet about the origins of Megaman, and none of it has anything to do with Section Z. Don't make conclusions based on how things look, feel or sound unless you can't find any other information.
Everyone base their remake from the nes version of the game. I guess people forgot that Section z was a 16-bit arcade game before it was a 8-bit nes port... And the arcade version also used FM synthisis so the music was outstanding. Arcade section Z has outstanding music.

Yeah, I waited years to see this guy return so I could thank him for making the Porky animation. I hope he doesn't disappear for another 4 years. I wanna see more from him.

keiji inafune or "INAFKING" did not work on section Z, this was the same team that brought us GNG n the 1940's series
