I main Terry, but I think my favorite tech is definitely Coils/DTCoils. It only works with characters that have inputs, and is most useful on Terry. It allows you to store a directional input while walking by selecting the direction you want to store and holding the c stick. Now, as long as you hold the c stick, your input is stored until you want to use it. To use the input, let go of the c stick and finish whatever true combo you want to do. The downside to this is that you cannot attack and special moves undo the coil. This is where DTCoils come in. If you hit the c stick twice very fast, you will still store the input of your choice, but you can attack too. This is very good on Terry because of his Rising Tackle input. You have to hold down for 24 frames+ and hit up and a/b. So, you basically have to charge his up b. And with DTCoils, you are basically able to throw out a frame 5 invincible out of shield option instantly. This is mostly used for recovery and comboing out of very fast aerials, at least for me. It makes some complex inputs really easy, so I think it's at least an 8/9 out of ten.
Hey there SoloJones, very nice video and thank you very much for the shoutout, it's much appreciated o/ The techs displayed were very interesting (the Sheik one omg ???), so I tried scrolling a bit in the thread but 300+ replies is *a lot of scrolling* so I'll leave that to your discretion and I'm looking forward to the next episode !
I can't help myself, here's some more character specific tech for kirby lmao. Kirby has a thing where if you drop ledge and hold down for exactly four frames, then jump and hold towards ledge for exactly one frame, Kirby kind of does a normal get-up with virtually no end lag. Super practical right? Only two frame perfect inputs, super super practical. But being serious, if you can master this Kirby can seriously punish people trying to ledgetrap him, it's kind of nuts just how lagless it is. Here's a video on it (hopefully CZcams doesn't delete this comment because I posted a link): czcams.com/video/DoWtqJmNVgw/video.html I'd put this on Twitter but I don't use it so I'll stick it here instead lmao
Kazuya can shield cancel his DTilt. It can be used as a good mixup in shield pressure, like DTilt Cancel->Grab or Down B. It can also be used as a funny looking taunt if you mash it
I played a bunch of games against a Diddy Kong in qp yesterday named SoloJones, was that you? My tag was s u c c and I was playing as Dedede. If so, good games! That was fun. Your content is underrated imo, you're the reason I picked up Ike as a secondary!
Interesting thing about c-stick ground buffered specials is that it comes out on frame 1 off the ground... combine that with SCARB which requires being frame 1 off the ground and thats scary... 2:50
Ness exfire: czcams.com/video/D0hCFSISMno/video.html A way to get grounded pkfire with the endlag of aerial pkfire. This means that you get an unSDIable pkfire with only 11 frames of endlag. You can get crazy confirms after it because of the frame advantage and it can be extremely safe on sheild (-3 to +17 depending on spacing)
ArcthunDair isn't a DI mix-up because it's not actually the sourspot of Dair, it's the sweetspot combining knockback with the Arcthunder burst. It is *actually* just that strong. Edit: guess you saw it was more complex from the video, but yeah that's the summary.
SCARB is not THAT hard all you gotta do is do the backflip jump and do RB low to the ground, if you practice you can get it pretty consistent. The only thing is it's really telegraphed if you do the backflip so mix it up
I like this series idea! The olimar one scares me though…

Flying Magnets are pretty fucking sick

950 isn’t much but that’s 950 robin mains that he helped
on the sheik vanish - you can sprint off a ledge or platform to go horizontal on the start up and get vanish snipes

Monado Art Cancels into faster moves.
you'll eventually see snakedashing 😈😈
Pit has… uh… ledge cancel Upperdash/Electroshock? It’s only really useful for mixups or style
Wow this is so cool!
Falcon tech? Time to show fatality
Bruh lets talk about mega man's yoinky sploinky
maybe i'm biased as a ness main but i think flymagging is some of the coolest tech in ultimate personally
