Description:
1 minutes and 38 seconds faster than the previous record by Dsparil.
From the above table it's pretty obvious where the time was improved by so much. I don't have nearly enough info about my times to actually say if the time I got on each level was good or not.
It's been almost 4 years since I last did this run and 2 years since I last had the record, but after doing nm100s and together with the new route it was easy to find the motivation to get this quickly out of the way.
This run is far from good and there are still some tricks that can save quite a bit of time, but that can wait another 4 years :)

Run comments:
Map 01: Used the blue key grab trick which I discovered years ago, should save a bit of time if it's done fast. Shortest distance you can get to the key is just over 24 units, max speed with SR50 is 23.57 so you'll need small damage boost to make it, I've been able to get it with only 6 damage taken.
Map 04: Had really low health and I didn't manage to kill all 3 shotgunners, probably shouldn't have gone for the weapon switch.
Map 05: Low health slowed me down.
Map 08: Not much damage taken.
Map 09: Enough mega armor to skip green armor.
Map 12: Horrible movement.
Map 18: Missed the rocket jump to the soulsphere, but it didn't matter.
Map 19: "Don't forget blue key, don't forget blue key, don't.." I did 2 practice playthroughs and forgot the blue key both times, and it happened again, but I didn't go too far before I remembered.
Map 23: Lucky revenant rocket damage roll at the end.
Map 25: Quite a big change to the route here with using a void glide instead of a rocket boost to skip the linedef which closes off the exit. Need to be careful not to do double strafe inputs.
Map 26: The rocket jump to the exit used to be quite a challenge to do with TAS when I first did it, but I eventually found a nice setup for it. The first rocket jump is also easy, but it can fail sometimes. Together with the void glide from map25 I have enough health to survive which means I get to keep the BFG for the mastermind on map29.
Map 30: I 100% should have died here, I completely forgot about the icon of sin cube spawns and nearly got myself tele-fragged. No need to kill the 4 lost souls at the end, just wanted to be safe as I wasn't getting under 34 minutes anyways. - Hry
Absolute insanity. I watched Civvie complete this over 30 days and you've just done it in little more than 30 mins. Astonishing work, and a great contribution to what has been a really strong year for TNT. You, Civvie, Dario Casali and decino (albeit playing through the TNT From Memory wad) - us doomers have been treated to TNT getting a workout from every possible angle in 2023.
When did civvie play this?

i had a wickedly vivid dream last night where i was in the Slough of Despair just going around shooting demons like doomguy lmfao it was wild, nothing looked weird or out of place, my brain really accurately recreated DOS DOOM in my head LOL i even died to a cacodemon at one point and reloaded a save, but like, i was IN the game 😭😭😭 it was crazy man i got to get up close and see a pinky's face get blown open with the shotgun as if it seriously just occurred right in front of me, in all its 16 bit glory. the human brain is a fuckin enigma

@@WorldofFoodNah bro that void glide was clean but that wasn't what got the run at all. 27:50 was totally the new strat with a crazy setup. Both rocket jumps were insanely precise and absolutely insane because just wow.
The platform to make it with the first jump is insanely small. You fall off very easily with the amount of speed the rocket throws you. And the second boost angle and distance is insane.
Man, after all those years, DOOM still slaps.

It is a marvel to watch how gracefully you play this game. You often make the AI look downright silly in those close quarters situations. Doomguy effectively becomes Barry Sanders whenever you play this game.

Pretty wild to watch this run after I played through TNT in like 7,5 hours. Granted I used Project Brutality so the game is harder and I had not played TNT in like a 7 years.

Hey, there is the mod for Doom Eternal called Kaiser Campaign. Would you do a 100% Nightmare playthrough of the Kaiser Campaign? You could even do 100% Ultra-Nightmare if you are familiar with and confident enough.
So in the nightmare run you used a void glide on map 08. Here you did the map normally which was about 20 seconds faster. Do you reckon you could setup the void glide more quickly to improve the run?

Quick Q. Why is there a series of monster telefrags on the bottom spawn point in the final room on Last Call? I noticed it in your nightmare run too.
in the hallway before that final room there were cages with monsters that are allowed to teleport once the switch is pressed, but they all teleport to the same location and telefrags are only possible on map30.
@@ZeroMaster That's what I was thinking. I don't speed run so I never see that as I clear those monsters out before I get to the final room.
Impressive. I understand what TAS is, but still interesting how do you manage not to be shoot by all these fires even with a slowmo? Do you have a 360-view in the tool? I just watched another video "how to play TAS", and when he records his screen it looks like a usual slowmo, and when playing it in a normal speed, it looks kind of unnatural: too fast turns, very crazy. I don't see these fast turns here though. Is this another tool has been used?
I'm assuming you completely misunderstood my comment about map 26, as it's the only place I mentioned TAS, but still I have no idea why you would ever confuse this with a TAS which would easily be twice as fast as this. (edit: or you are commenting on the wrong video? if it's the okuplok video then I have already spelled it out several times, just read the description)
Map 26 rocket jump would have been extremely difficult to do as you need to find a certain position and angle for it to work combined with certain inputs and timings, but I managed to find such a setup using bruteforce which I could use in a non-TAS run and similar for map 25.

Yes I read the Okuplok description, however, as I completely newbie in tas, I can not imagine what exactly it looks like when you play it. Is it 360-view, or just slow-mo?
upd: the TNT and Plutonia Experiment, along with all others speedruns from you are very impressive. For me as for the huge fan of an early Doom this is a very big pleasure to watch.
@@3dvizer "whenever I got hit I would simply re do it until I didn't get hit." it's that simple, you take damage -> you go back a second or so and try again -> repeat until done.

I like the Plutonia MIDI Pack, especially because every single MIDI without it is just from Doom 1/2, but the TNT MIDI Pack seems completely unnecessary, since most of the MIDIs in TNT are already original anyway. Also, it doesn't sound nearly as good as the Plutonia MIDI Pack.
@@Legatron17 i dont know i still prever TNT midi pack. the new Plutonia Midi pack i am not really a fan of as well. they have some good tracks though not going to lie. but its just not for me. Then again i like TNT more then Plutonia anyway maybe thats the reason as well. and the fan made mod of TNT 2 is amazing also got some great tracks as well. not sure if you played it? its called TNT Evilution.
