  • Gilbert Arenas Says The NBA Does NOT FEAR LeBron James as Gil's Arena reacts to Mario Chalmers & Shaquille O'Neal's comments that nobody in the NBA has ever said they feared King James and discuss why LeBron is not put in the same conversations as on court killers like Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant and Allen Iverson despite being widely considered the greatest player the game has seen.
Gil’s Arena premieres every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at 11:30am PT / 2:30pm ET.

They miss-using/understanding what is meant by feared a player in the NBA. I think Gilbert explained it best when he said afraid of style of play but there’s more to it because players talk about how MJ/Kobe would never let their foot off the gas and was always in attack mode! That is a big part of it too.

The promos that man would cut on players combined with the way he would turn them into nightly highlight reels had a direct impact on their checks even more so back then. If you were the guy and it was your team you were supposed to have some sort of answer for 23. Teams had bonuses directly connected to how you played against Mike. The social media age is wild. Bron ain't even retired and he's already getting pulled down. Bron isn't feared... Bron doesn't have a bag..... ect. In about ten years all this is gonna be washed, rinsed, and repeated. There will be a younger group of viewers saying the 2000s and the 2010s were trash. They didn't have as many good three point shooters. They never had a player like Wenby ect. Not even the new media like Gil's Arena is aware of this. Bron played against Paul Pierce, Tracy McGrady, Kobe Bryant, ect. Those same players played against Jordan. Yet Jordan also played against Bird and Magic. The new fans are biased and don't really know the NBA as a game, as a business, or it's history. The old media is biased and storyline driven. The new media is biased for the players but they are already old heads themselves and don't realize it.

i do think the 2000s is gonna remembered as a very unique era every players have different styles that defines them which made it not only amazing but also leveled the talents was insane i only need to say 3 guys (KOBE,DUNCAN,LEBRON)
the 2010s for the Tactical side of things The revolution of The Pace and Space offense, the rise of the needs of Versality in defense where off ball defense is as important as iso.
I think both eras are gonna talked about because it can Help shape our styles.
both era have Paradox goin on so even me who's didn't grasp the 2000s i know enough those players bring different taste to the game i came around the pace and space era i gotta know my era very well. im not saying the 90s suck but Respectfully comparing the volume of talents i just think the 2000s and 2010s is top tier Tactical and Uniqueness wise.

If the teammates were soft, then Jordan and Kobe wouldn't respect the teammates. Or opponents.
