Hmm, I do want to give credit where it is atleast due to pursue objectivity on these controversial issues. He did atleast acknowledge the positive points Rafe made at the start of the video, so he showed he can atleast listen to and respond to points. An error in his way of thinking is exposed afterward however, in which he pushes all those positive things aside to focus primarily on negative things, unwilling to see balance between them. And at the end he particularly showed his hand, in which Rafe told him to do more research at the broader context because he's quite certain he's incorrect in his perspective, but instead he just says: "The quote speaks for itself." In that instance he showed he was unwilling to perceive anything outside of what he's already decided is correct, and that no-one telling him otherwise can change his mind. We'll see if maybe a seed can be planted here to change his mind in the future, but he's showing a more religious spirit in his beliefs than one that looks for truth.

@patrino I would heavily question the notion that the British thought of themselves with the racial connotations the activist is pushing onto them, as cultures used to be far more homogeneous, in which when one would mention an ethnicity, it was more of an association with their various cultures than a purely racial context like the race marxists say today.
There is no doubt in my mind Churchill ahnd muhch of England had a superiority complex compared to the rest of the world, but I question how much of that was a racial perspective. It looks far more likely to me to be primarily afeeling of cultural superiority than having muhch to do with the racial perspectives talked about today.

@@shadowbanned1999 There's a thread of truth in there, but only that.
Hitler didn't expect the Brits and French to act when he invaded Poland, and when they did he expected to be able to force the British to accept a negotiated deal, as he did with the French. Ultimately, he wanted to push East, and did not want an open Western front at the same time.
However, due to lack of naval and air superiority, he couldn't invade the UK, so he settled for a strategy of regular bombing and a fortified coast in France to hem the Brits in, hoping to keep them there till he won his war in the East, enabling him to gather enough resources to be able to turn his attention back to the British at a later date. In effect, he placed the British Isles under siege.
So yes, it's true to say he didn't want to fight Britain, at that particular moment in time. He wanted them out of it so he could plunder Europe uninterrupted.

My American, history loving ass will always respect Chruchill's Legacy. It's truly impossible for anyone today to properly understand the immense burden he faced. In just nine months time, he'd watched Nazi Germany triple it's territory. Defeat his closest ally outright and occupied it's country which was just a hop skip and away across the English Channel. Germany in a relatively short time had amassed the largest armed forces in the world and were now at his doorstep. This is the environment as he's taking office like wtf. In his first speech ever as prime minister he stood there and told the British people the truth no politicking, "I have nothing to offer but blood, toil, tears, and sweat." The British people owe this man untold gratitude for their liberty as does much of the world because as any historian knows; like Rafe and others have pointed out, without British blood, without the Battle of Britian; operation Barbarossa succeeds and Russia falls. The whole world looks much different today if that happens. A cherry-picked quote by an activist with an agenda will never erase the amount of good Churchill did for the world.

The same thing is happening here in the states. The left is taking over control and the freedoms that both countries fought for so valiantly to protect is WW2 are being taken away. It's happening a bit at a time, so the people continue to accept incremental the loss of freedoms and continue to vote into power those who are diminishing freedom. You mean well meaning but selectively knowledgeable and culturally uninformed right? Just as we strive today to understand other people's actions through their cultural lense as well as our own...we must view the actions and recorded words of historical figures through the cultural lense of the time and place they lived. And remember there has never been a perfect human bring and therefore no hero is perfect viewed under a microscopic lense. And FEMI as all woke are revealed these days as being just an unveilled (before Oct 7 I would have said thinly veiled) and insidious example of racist and antisemite.

It reminds me of people comparing footballers of old to modern day. When it was okay for physical contact, drinking after a game and no VAR, the pitches were mud pits etc. It's two different sports under the same name by this point. What happened in those games in the 40's can't be judged to todays rules.
I'd love to see Rafe do a nice long break down of all these points, with a nice history lesson of the context.

I have read his books on the second WW and i have read lot of books on the matter , and i can say that we european and most of the world must tanks him to have opposed Hitler and his governement. If it was not for his stubbornes and the fact that he undestood , very well ,Hitler and decided to oppose hit whatever the cost , the european history would have taken a very grimm road.

Britain made most of the important industrial advances that brought about the modern world but, my God, Italy is surely the greatest nation in the world in terms of culture, art, architecture. The Trevi fountain, Micheal angelos works, so much. I love the passion of the Italian people. Even to pick one more modern item which I'd say encapsulates Italy in an object, for instance, a ferrari 250 gto, no other nation can make such beauty. Each European country has something to be proud of, it would be a crime to let it all be subsumed by the plague of humanity sweeping over and engulfing it.
      Best Wishes from Great Britain.
