  • Elon Musk has announced that Tesla's new AI supercluster will grow to over 500 megawatts, making it one of the largest in the world.
Initially, Tesla aimed for a 100 megawatt cluster by August.
However, Musk redirected resources to expand the Gigafactory Texas project.
He now claims the supercluster will reach over 500 megawatts within 18 months.
Musk also revealed that Tesla is achieving record-breaking performance with its next-generation AI chip.
The new AI5 computer is expected to have ten times the capability of the current HW4 computer.
Tesla plans to use a mix of its own hardware and Nvidia's, along with other suppliers.
This approach aims to balance Tesla's AI hardware with Nvidia's compute power, enhancing the supercluster's capabilities.
Despite these ambitious claims, skepticism remains.
Eric Ellsworth commented, "The reason Tesla's stock didn't budge on some random Elon announcement is not just FSD - he says all kinds of stuff all the time."
The market remains cautious, awaiting tangible improvements in Tesla's AI efforts.
