  • A long while ago I released a quick tips video describing a fracture ward known as the "Sawtooth Fracture Ward" After much testing and experimentation, I think I've been able to make a more efficient, effective fracture ward without sacrificing too much in terms of space. Hosting the same 5x4 footprint as the power ward, this packs 4 traction beds into an efficient package that a single nurse can keep up with.

    Thank you for all your help. While some of your designs won't work on the Switch version, due to the doors refusing to place anywhere that isn't directly in a square, your builds did give me a basis to tweak and work from to make some room that were much better than I was doing previously! It's really helped in my game.😀

    You have helped me so much with this game; I consistently drove my hospitals into the ground, getting shut down due to debt, and I couldn’t get above 2 stars on the last 5 hospitals. Now since I starting using some of your ideas I have had so much more fun! This setup is actually working great for me in Grockle Bay right now so thank you!

    Thanks Pinstar, I tried it on tumble and the plaster casters catch fire regularly. I have added a fire extinguisher. I have to a level 20 Tumble and the best for this was a very large sawtooth ward as the ineffeciencis of it mean fewer fires.

    This is one of the best builds I have in my hospitals and I've yet to find a way to improve upon it. While it can depend a bit on your Ward Nurse skills I've had it handle a full load, a 6+ queue, and an emergency on top of that and get everybody through before the emergency timer runs out. The key is that step efficiency because the savings really builds up over time and what it can handle at once.

    this is my first time playing a game like this since it just released on switch, and man this playlist has been super helpful just to give me a general idea on efficient room placement and staff importance. I thought I was really smart when i first started playing by giving my doctors a wide variety of skills, thinking the coverage would be more important lol.

    Why don't you put coffee maker and candy dispenser in your room anymore?

    • @acavamiusuario
      @acavamiusuario Před 3 lety +3

      exactly what I was thinking! I managed to fit brain chair, coffee, sweet, giggles and fire extinguisher by moving the radiator in between the nurse station and the traction bed. The brain chair is placed behind the plaster caster (where the radiator was) right next to it I placed the sweet dispenser and to the side of the plaster caster is the coffee table (right in front of the wall monitor). Below the the wall monitor I placed the fire extinguisher and to the left of the monitor is the giggle pump (you have to fine tune it using left ctrl in order to fit in)

    I would like to see what version of the fracture ward you would make for the maximum throughput of patients if you could go up in room size a little. keep it as small as you can but patient throughput is maximized. like does adding a second plaster section help if there are 2 nurses. etc.

    Great video. What type of nurse is best for the fracture ward, treatment or ward nurse?

    • @Pinstar
      @Pinstar  Před 4 lety +3

      Ward nurse for certain. Each level of Ward skill gives them a +20% treatment skill in the fracture ward. This is better than the 10%/level of vanilla treatment training and while the diagnostics bonus doesn't apply to the fracture ward, you can allow your ward nurses to work either type of ward so they can go to whichever room they are needed in. This lets you also add fracture wards to regular ward for determining your number of ward nurses needed.

    Any tips on corridors? Also Im struggling on the University Hospital level

    • @Pinstar
      @Pinstar  Před 4 lety +2

      Minimum of two tiles wide is best for high traffic areas. Three tiles for areas that have vending machines. The university level is tricky due to the narrow building space. I'd build rooms on either side with doors facing an arterial corridor in the middle. It might use up more space and require earlier building expansion but traffic flow will be smooth.
