Once heard a story about a ship that sank some time in the ‘30’s I believe, when the navy attempted to help but it was too dangerous to try and rescue the survivors. The water was very cold, and anyone in it would die within minutes. One man, knowing this, floated past the navy, waving and yelling to the sailors “taxi, taxi.” True courage.
If this story is true the navy should be ashamed. Water to cold? Wtf you don’t have to jump in the water yourself to rescue someone.
