@@AppalachianDIY Thanks. Everything is going smoothly except for the fact that there no bottom dot on the crank sprocket for the timing belt
Edit: Found a picture of one with the dot and counted the teeth lol.

Found this recently... That has to be the oddest design for an idler pulley I've EVER seen. Who came up with the brilliant idea of "Let's run the coolant pipe through the pulley" ?

  • @jakethetool698

That's a breaker bar, on the crank pulley, and I'm actually attempting one of these today, because the previous mechanic didn't change the water pump, idler, and tensioner. Bad idea

You can check to make sure your on the correct rotation with a screwdriver down the #1 Cylinder...

also...if you decide to work on the timing belt...just take out the 4 bolts hat hold the radiator in....

Hey bud thanks for the video. No critique here but from the angle i saw it didnt look like the right cam was toatally dead on. Was it the angle or is there a tolerance? Thanks

It's mostly the camera angle. I've been asked that a bunch of times. On the premarked belts, I don't pay much attention to the marks on the back timing cover after I initially set it. The marks on the belt tell you all you need to know

90 4runner with a 3.0 for sale it had the belt replaced and he was driving down the road and it died it had no water . It's for sale it has 90k miles in nice shape. What damage could it have done? Is it fixable?

3.0 is notorious for blown head gaskets, sounds like you found one. Could have warped heads or cracked heads or block if it got hot enough.

is this a non interfernence engine? if the timing belt breaks will there be damage to engine?

The 3vze is non interference, a busted belt ruins your day, but not your engine
