      Best wishes from NI. Half Scottish here. The pipes with the “Highland Granny” best part of the parade.

    Cant wait to welcome all you into Ireland. Its important you celebrate your history but we all need to be open to the fact that a New Ireland is around the corner and theres nothing you or I can do about it. Let our chuldren prosper. Its not us and them for 364 days or the year. It needs to be us.

      New Ireland is not around the corner. It’s over 8000 miles away. And I don’t really see how our kids would better prosper in Papua New Guinea. It’s literally a developing country with one of the highest crime rates in the world.

      @@morrisondavenpowerAnd you want a UI 🇮🇪 😂😂😂. Oh dear I need to get the popcorn 🍿 and watch this unfold. The UK 🇬🇧 will probably be glad to hand it back. Then we can sit and watch all the problems unfold when you try to force someone who's 'British' be 'Irish Only' when they're both. Ireland and EU will spend a fortune with it's up keep and you will need Garda on every street corner cause s**t might hit the fan more often than not. But hey you enjoy your UI 🇮🇪.

      You'd need to sort out your countrymen first.
      A United Ireland will no longer be an irish nation state and unfortunately no Republican or nationalists seem to be ready for that.
      New flag? Blasphemy to yous. New anthem? Outrageous.
      Maybe get your own house ready before deciding to try invite ( drag) your neighbours into it.

    is the burning of Irish flags condoned ???

    • @allanwilson
      @allanwilson  Před rokem

      Not sure about flags but seen effigies etc. on some Belfast fires. As far as I know council’s have banned these acts (which are probably illegal in the first place) and local community organisations will lose funding if they break them. It was similar with burning tires etc.

      @@allanwilson respectful answer spoken like a gentleman, other question - what is the modern day view of catholics in protestant communities of the north ?

    • @allanwilson
      @allanwilson  Před rokem

      @@shutup2751 I’m from a Unionist background not so much a Protestant community (it’s Bangor) so I can’t really say much. Brexit was obviously a kick in the nuts as it’s fairly divisive across the board including the staunch loyalist communities. Estates etc seem to be more diverse given the mix of lower incomes and (at least from my own view from the fringe of society) is that religion and views on Catholics are the least of people’s worries outside of the stubborn PUL communities.

    • @tjclarke1892
      @tjclarke1892 Před 11 měsíci

      @shutup2751 I'll answer that as best I can,
      There's a view that PUL communities obsess over hating catholics and its the only thing on their mind. It isnt and never has been. The view on catholics is that their catholics and I wish them nothing but the best.
      What may help you to understand why you ask that question is that the sectarianism in Northern Ireland is not based off hating the other but having a conflict of interest in terms of political interests, values and aspirations. The PUL community wants x y and z, the CNR community wants a b and c, both isn't possible and conflict comes from that and the view that the 'other side' are being anti-the other and attacking their views
      So simply views are no different than any communities views of others.
