It was the " inner child". Raffique definitely has a Sweet Tooth. Gotta love the sneakiness... Here in US, simple thing. I used to make these 40yrs ago. Hard to forget that some don't have blender and just do thing uniform style, no sampling or mixing.

Im 52 , live in the UK , I was the same till in my late teens , up til then it was milk bottles delivered by a milkman
It is odd to me as well to see milk packed in cartons, I am urbanized but it's a cultural thing here in India to distrust packaged food. Also people avoid packaged food to avoid paying taxes on it 😆
I had had a heinous day, but when I clicked to watch this video and saw the smiling faces and gracious attitude of these gentlemen, the cares of the day faded away with their gift of laughter.

@@melaniekendall4903 milkshakes have ice cream. Milkshakes were invented in the usa and if you look; youll find that all the recipes have ice cream.
But... I always make what they made and add some vanilla extract. I always called it a banana milk shake as well. Adding ice cream just makes it better.

In my part of Canada, we have milk in bags!! We buy a large bag that has 3 pouches of milk inside, 4 liters total, and we have a special jug with a handle at home. The pouch fits securely in the jug, then we snip off one corner, and use the handle to pour! It costs about 1220 rupees for the 4L bag.
Cracking me up how they are praising one another🤣🤣 fun times ! It seems they are all much closer and that's nice to see.

This is a smoothie, not a milkshake. A milkshake is made with ice cream and milk.

I agree. One exception though, if you use frozen fruit instead of icecream. A milkshake should be a frozen, airy, smooth drink.
In India and maybe in Pak too we guys often refer to this as a milkshake 😅
@@vishavjeetsingh732 Yes when I visited India and ordered a milkshake it was not the same as an American Milkshake. We all have to learn that things are different in other countries and we as Americans need to stop assuming our way is always the right way and other countries are wrong.

Hi I am from the USA, we call this a fruit smoothie, a milkshake is made with ice cream,milk . For breakfast I make smoothies blueberries, strawberries n bananas n add vanilla yogurt.

Milkshakes are mostly ice cream but this "smoothie" looks pretty good. You can get a richer taste if the bananas are frozen and don't use any ice. When made this way, I don't even feel like they need extra sugar. (To freeze - Peel the bananas first and break into a few pieces. Then put them in a plastic bag or container and freeze them. This is also a great way to preserve bananas and keep them from being wasted.) When you want a smoothie just add frozen bananas to the blender. Add milk and sometimes a little vanilla extract or cocoa powder and blend as usual. You can also add peanut butter to make a peanut butter and banana smoothie.

A "milkshake" typically has ice cream in it, guys. I mean, this is pretty common throughout the world. Yes, you could add milk to anything, blend it, and call it a "milkshake" I guess. But by not giving them at least vanilla ice cream to mix with it, I feel like they were robbed of the true taste experience lol.
What they made is more like a smoothie than anything. Even though smoothies are typically made with ice (and maybe yogurt), there was nothing sweet in here except for the banana.
Don't forget the sugar. Especially Mr Chaudry's extra scoop.

Ice cream is milk and sugar at low temperature, agitated repeatedly until it hardens into ice cream. This method will MAKE ice cream as it blends. It's a common thing to do even in the US. I used to make homemade ice cream at camp every year.

@Hitman I guess the thing that I envy is their innocence of the outside world because Lord knows with the hardships they face as poor villagers that's enough to have to think about, if that makes sense.
But I also feel like the hard work they do every day isn't something that they complain about a lot. I think it's just what they know... how they were raised. Knowing that to succeed you have to work hard and life isn't always easy. Like they just take it in stride.
That's why modern conveniences are such a shock to them. Those of us in the West could probably learn a lot from them about being more humble and grateful. I think most of us have had it so easy that we've lost that kind of drive and ambition. Of course, not everyone in Western societies, but enough.

Forty+ years ago, my husband and I were in England, walking on a side street. A restaurant was advertising milkshakes. It was hot and it sounded so good. We ordered two. We got shaken milk.😢 Not long after, a McDonalds opened up and milkshakes took off.

I prefer Smoothies to Milkshakes most of the time, they tend to quench my thirst better. But both are a real treat.

The Crazy Hobo is correct, these were smoothies & milkshakes are made with ice cream & milk. But fruits may be added for different flavors of milkshakes as well as chocolate powder or chocolate syrup.
I adore these gentleman and respect their religion and the parameters around Ramadan, which I am only just learning about. Did they film, prepare and drink their shakes between dusk and dawn? As a North American, I look forward to learning more about others.

milk shakes are some of the best things in the world, it will be a treat to see these fine gentlemen try such a classic food. not what i expected, in america we make things called milk shakes but we use blended ice cream and milk with other toppings like chocolet along with fruit.
Or even bananas, like they used (or *chocolate* ) in the milk/icecream mix. That’s how milkshake’s commonly made in Norway too. Unless it is a vegan milkshake, then it’s often made with vegan milk and frozen fruit (e.g. banana to make it creamy, alone or with the addition of other fruits for flavor variations) - technically it might be a smoothie…

@@shardinhand1243 Especially with chocolate or strawberry shakes. The salty and sweet go so good together. I've had fries, eggs, even macaroni and cheese on a burger. Unfortunately, I can't eat onions, they turn me into a gas factory and give me an upset stomach.

This drink is called a Smoothie because it contains no ice cream. Milkshakes contain ice cream and milk with either fruit or chocolate powder or melted chocolate. They all did a great job of working together!!! I just think they are great God praising people.....❤❤❤❤

Not a milk shake but a smoothie. Milk shakes are basically softened ice cream mixed with a touch milk and ingredients if you want them.
