  • The proven vet John Elway faces the young gun Brett Favre in the first career meeting between the QBs, as the 3-1 Broncos make their first-ever trip to Lambeau Field to face the 1-3 Packers, in a Sunday night matchup.

The thing that always stood out to me about this game was the postgame show; when TNT covered football they did a postgame live from the stadium set and had interviews with players, usually just from the winning team. For this one though, Elway came out in street clothes and the Packers fans, of which thousands stayed for the postgame show, gave him a huge cheer. Then, after his interview ended and he headed back to the locker room, the same Packers fans gave him a standing ovation and he waved to them and thanked them. One of the classiest things I have ever seen in sports.

    Classic:
Elway vs Favre before their Super Bowl.
    The NFL on TNT? What?
Broncos never played in Lambeau until 1993. That's a "stump your buddies" nugget of trivia right there.
    Great job, Bart!

@@matthartleyjr9180 Prior to this game, the Broncos and Packers had played only 6 times, as they only played every 3 years (roughly) due to the AFC/NFC rotation. Of those 6 games, 4 were in Denver. The other 2 games (in 1971 and 1987) were played at Milwaukee County Stadium, not Lambeau Field, as the Packers played part of their home schedule at both stadiums until they started playing at Lambeau full-time in 1995.

Way back before NBC threw Carrie Underwood and all the bells and whistles they could muster at Sunday night...when the concept of Sunday Night Football was still so experimental that the Sunday night package was split in two--half to TNT, and the other half to ESPN. And back then, the biggest games would rarely be on Sunday night, because so much of the country still didn't have access to cable yet!

I feel like Terrell Davis shouldn't be in HOF cuz he only played 7 seasons, but Terrell Davis first 4 seasons was his great years I think rest seasons he was hurt. but if Terrell Davis get in HOF cuz of 4 great seasons he had, if that is so I think Sterling Sharpe should be in HOF, Sterling Sharpe 7 seasons he played he had 3 First-Team AP All-Pro and 5 pro bowls, with over 8000 yards and 65 tds. and winning a Superbowl is a team not one player. and I'm not packer or bronco's fan.
