  • Some of you may have heard about Disney Black Diamond VHS tapes. This was a series of video tapes that were sold by Disney between 1988 and 1993. They were called "black diamond" because there was a black diamond logo on the spine of the video case that said "the classics".
For many years, it was believed that these tapes were highly valuable, and could be sold for huge amounts of money. Some people were told that if they had some of these tapes in their collection, they could sell them and make a fortune? But is this actually true?
In this video I take a close look at the whole "black diamond" phenomenon and see how true it actually is. Certainly, any visit to websites like eBay and you will immediately find thousands of these tapes for sale. Some of them are listed for insane prices, such as $50,000 each, and even higher. But are these tapes actually selling for these asking prices? Watch my video to find out!
VHS tape collecting seems to be a big hobby for many people. Some folks seem to take it very seriously, and will shell out large amounts of money for that rare and elusive tape that they have been trying to track down for years. But are the Disney Black Diamond tapes really that rare? I talk about this in the video.
As I mention in the video, it's actually not that hard to find these old VHS tapes at various thrift stores and second hand stores. I am sure if you go to your local Good Will right now, you will find at least one of these tapes!
Do you collect old VHS tapes? Do you still use a VCR? What is the most valuable VHS tape in your collection? Where do you buy your used VHS tapes? Is there still a tape that you are trying to track down? Feel free to leave a comment!
If you are into retro or vintage or retro technology, this is the channel for you.
