With how naive his original self was following Traveller after a few words, you have to wonder how EASILY Dottore must have manipulated him 😭I think anyone would go insane after Dottore's experiments, but Kabukimono was resilient so living through them must have been so damaging, i wish they showed us more of that. I mean, look at Collei. She's still traumatized and this is after Amber saved her, so it boggles my mind how Scaramouche here was even able to backtalk Dottore at all in that one scene in front of the sages. Like, he's so broken and desensitized to the point he could talk with his abuser calmly. I think i'd involuntarily shut down whenever Dottore merely appears.

He's easily being manipulated especially at his unstable emotion state, Dottore used Scara's rage toward Ei and trick him into becoming part of his experiment. Scara was never enjoyed became Fatui, he was used as a lab rat by Dottore since he's not a human. Was also throw into the abyss and cruel experiment beyond human capacity. Scara stay in Fatui just because he need their power to take revenge on Ei.

For me, this gives a lot of reason as to why he was given an anemo vision. Not just because of his new freedom, but we can see here that before all the betrayals and manipulation, Scara was a soft and free-spirited person, a lot like Kazuha.

or people just liked the dynamic between them two
The only betrayal was from The Doctor, the rest was a total misunderstanding since scara is a puppet and didn't understand humans and deities
You know, when the Traveler said that "There's somewhere I want to take you" and this no memory Scara just agreed with it just because the Traveler said about him being a puppet, my gosh! 🤣🤣🤣🤣 He is so naive and clueless 🤣🤣🤣
If this was Dottore and he said the same thing, no doubt he follow him. So, it's a good thing that his memories had back since it would save him from his tragic fate once again.

Everyone saying:
"Scara being kind" or "Kunikuzushi version", the name doesn't matter really.
That was still his personality even without the name, before all the bad things happened it's always him with or without a name.
Both his "mean" (which in all honestly is just trauma) personality and his previous kind personality is always him, not a different person.
It's just the before and after of his personality and it's always him, even if he was "mean" (the personality change after the trauma) he still kept the nice personality but hidden because he thought it was a weakness but his soft spot for old people and kids was there and even if he decided to hide and shut down his lost innocent personality of a kid (because of the trauma) that doesn't mean it was completely gone and you can see that after the Sumeru Archon Quest.

I felt weird seeing him be so nice, but I didn't like his traumatized, faux-arrogant self either... Now he's both of those, being his traumatized form but with the wisdom of his current incarnation. Harsh on himself and everyone else, but accepting of his emotions and prepared to face the punishment for his previous incarnation when his past catches up to him.
I love how hoyo said *unevils your scaramouche* and it left us all unsettled lol
Honestly I felt bad for him when we first met him, as he said he was lost and he felt like he had a void and he was just drifting from place to place, he was working there for free because he didn’t know what to do with his life. That’s honestly depressing..
He's just so amazingly written and lovable that i love all of his sides no matter if he's that evil fatui harbinger or the kind wanderer

I think this was the reason why he was so easily manipulated by Dottore. He trusts too easily. Which is why it was important to bring his memories back, so that a repeat of what really happened won't happen again.
I have no idea I would fall him so bad. I pulled him for funsies but the more I played with him and the more I learned about his character, he became one my faves. Although I prefer his usual self, his kind self is so sweet to see. Like he is so soft huuu.
IKR when I first met him in the delusion factory quest I told myself I don't know how people simp for him... But I have actually grown to have him be my favorite character 😭

He became so polite without his memories, even working for free simply bcs he needed a purpose. He even stuck around the merchant because the work he was being given makes him feel needed, he returned as a completely different person that I felt a little worried with mixed feelings because he was different from what I originally knew him as. I imagined the merchant as Ei, bcs he seemed so desperate to stay, thankful even that the merchant took him in.
Scaramouche's development is so cute
Pretty much this is why they said you have to be mindful of how you teach children. Children are like a blank page, they'll become like what was written in that page. He was sweet and kind at first, when there are people who take him in and be kind to him. But when things gone bad, with no guidance, he ended up taking in negativity, misunderstand lots of things and easilly get manipulated.
