    That Brian May type one, is one of the nicest looking guitars I've ever seen.

    I've always loved the old japanese "extra" that they used years ago. The switches, the pickups all had a "we're trying too hard" look that i actually love. Im glad someone is applying that vibe to some newer guitars.

    That Colt HH Hardtail would be perfect with a blade switch! I might be tempted to order a custom pickguard, provided the nut is not wider than 42mm. The other Vintage REVO that caught my eye is the Integra; I wish Vintage Guitars would publish the bloody nut widths!

    I love that vintage are bringing something new (old?) to the market, alongside their very capable takes on the “classic” T, S , LP and SG designs. I have 5 Vintage guitars and they are all great. Perfect mod platforms too

    Hi Andy - can I just say I love the way you pretty much always post positive "feel good" thumbnails for your videos! The absolute opposite of the angst-ridden click-bait that's become all too common on some major channels. I don't always agree with you, but I always respect your take on things. Keep 'em coming!

      @TheGuitarGeek  Před 5 měsíci +2

      Thank you. My channel is based on honesty, positivity and authenticity. It’s the only way I know.
      I could get more clicks by being different but I’d hate my life.
      I really thank you for saying that you don’t always agree with me but you respect me. It’s rare to get such an intelligent comment and I really appreciate it

      @@TheGuitarGeek Cheers Andy! "I'd hate my life" sums it all up. I built a reputation as an on-line reviewer of scale model kits - and then I hit a point where there wasn't anything new I could write anymore. I really admire the way you've found a balance that works. More power to your playing! 😎

    I have a Vintage Av6. Its a wonderful guitar. The fret ends were not upto modern standards but its a really good strat. The first V100 was a fabulous but heavy LP copy. I hope they do well,but its a very crowded market.

    • @TheGuitarGeek
      @TheGuitarGeek  Před 5 měsíci +1

      Very crowded indeed Peter. I’ve had a few of their guitars over the years and they were always impressive and even more so if you put some work into them. I really like these alternative designs

      @AndyGuitarGeek Definitely the time of the offset. I still think that the Gretsch Electromatics are the kings of the 550-800 euro price point.

      I love their designs, just wish the QC was a bit more consistent. I have what's basically their Hendrix tribute model S type (I forget the model name) and setup and fretwork was pretty solid. I bought a V65 (their Jazzmaster type) recently and several frets were rough with a few sharp ends

    They should change the name to Cheese Log. It's what they are. A certain '70s Japanese charm, but without the history. A couple of them can give you a headache if you look at them too long.

    'unique' resonating spring chamber.. Yes, that'll be early 1970s Hayman guitars... Entwistle is a guitar historian who deserves credit and respect for his dedication to resurrecting bold ideas and designs of the past, and making them affordable. It's a shame the quality control of the factories he's using let him down. Latest Burns reissues have terrible fret work. He should have headed the Shergold revival, to give fans of those quirky vintage guitars what they really wanted.

    • @TheGuitarGeek
      @TheGuitarGeek  Před 5 měsíci

      interesting but i don't think Alan was involved in the latest Burns releases since they got bought out.

    • @1man1guitarletsgo
      @1man1guitarletsgo Před 5 měsíci +1

      In the early 80s I owned a Hayman Modular. I didn't know its rarity, and part-exed it against an Ibanez Roadstar, because I wanted a trem. It gets worse: I decided I didn't really like the trem, so I tightened it down and used it as a hardtail, like the Hayman. If I'd kept that guitar, I could retire now! Well not quite, but they're extremely rare and worth quite a bit.

    • @garycrant4511

      @@TheGuitarGeek At the very least, recent Burns imports equipped with Entwisle pickups, If he was involved beyond that I can't remember right now. But we shouldn't' be too surprised if he was ???. I'm also fairly certain he was behind the affordable Alden retro guitars of a decade or so ago. One was definitely a cheeky Burns inspired design.

      Does that spring resonating chamber function any differently than the tremolo springs would in a strat?

    I love the feel of my Brian May guitar but let it be said, It's the most uncomfortable guitar to play sitting down.
