    I was before a researcher involved in somaclonal variation in rice..the focus was stress tolerant crop...acid and drought tolerant crops. We were able to produce F1 seeds and did field trials for 2 seasons...wet and dry. We were able to do selections and produce the F2. We both able to produce acid tolerant and drought tolerant plants from our somaclones. But what we failed to do was the nxt field selection which should have been replicated so we can submit to Seed Board Committee so we can have our own variety. We run out of funds. I was sad..but our research won Best Paper Award ...which I was thankful
