If anyone is looking for this one and they are in or near the interior of BC, we have a couple of cases at our store in Salmon Arm (and I have a bottle in my cabinet 😀)
Gotta love the whiakey market, where distilleries can release things that people are barely going to find adequate, but they know those same people will still line up to buy them.
Yay Quail's Gate is a 5 hour drive in BC's Okanagan which is spectacular!! I like this Green Spot expression! I wasn't sure at first if I'd enjoy it but I really do. The Okanagan is gorgeous and to visit during the summer is spectacular - winery after winery and some whisky too!! I'm okay with the local price which beats what you paid - $100 U.S. I paid more in Canada but hey this was worth it! Grilled peach with brandy does fit! I have grilled pear, peach and used a Cognac I love! The spice in this expression is wonderful! Peaches are also in delicious plentiful supply in the Okanagan in the summer! Come and visit!!! Cheers!
I could probably talk my wife into heading up there to visit a winery. Maybe I will!
@@TheWhiskeyDictionary The whole Okanagan is spectacularly gorgeous!! Go for it!! Have an awesome day!! 🙂
Can't stand spot whiskey, especially the yellow spot !!!
Speaking of birds ... you should do a Three Swallows review!
I do love the Leoville Barton on my first impression the other day. Going to explore it more this weekend. I'd take a chance on the other ones in the series based off of that. But at the price, not going to rush.
Ive had that Chateau Montelena ( sample shot at liquor store) it was delicious, smooth, kinda fruity & refreshing !! im having trouble finding this one now, discontinued maybe??👌👍🍻🥃😎🤤
Great video Bill. Looking forward to head to head!!! Cheers!
Thank you for the video.
Absolutely!
Love the entire Spot lineup. I'd agree that if you don't like the Spots, this one isn't going to do it for you, but if you DO like the Spots, then yeah, drop the 100 on this bottle (that's just the kinds of prices we have to pay for a lot of this kind of thing these days)
😢😢😢👌🍻🥃😎✌️
$100 for non aged stated is ridiculous
@@steveno7058 To take it to an absurd extreme, Macallan M is NAS. While I don't think it's worth 6,000 that it's priced at, it's worth way more than 100.
For this one, I'd suggest drinking it first, then decide if you're willing to pay 100 for a bottle. That is entirely an individual choice.
@@steveamsp I’ll pass. I have tried the Green, Blue and Red before. A simple wine finish isn’t going to convince me to pay double of what I can get Red Breast 12 or Powers 12 for or a bunch of quality age stated single malts
@steveno7058 you managed to try 2 of their worst expressions 😀
I like the regular Green, but I also appreciate your mentality about Redbreast. 12 is a bit watery compared to the Green imo, but the 15 is amazing
Glad you ended up liking this one! Cheers, Bill 🥃🙂
Thanks for the sharp video. Lol cheers!
Nice vid 👍
I am probably in the minority but i think the Spot series is better than the Red Breast whiskeys...i have bought a lot of the expressions by both distilleries and i have consistently liked the Spots more...a lot more...
Now you’re talking!!
Enjoyed the video Bill. I am curious if you've ever seen Northcross Irish whiskey? A store near me that I typically trust had it on sale for under $20 (although I don't think the retail is much more than $20) and they were hyping it up as a bargain. I'm pretty inexperienced in Irish, only having had Jameson before and not loving it. So I got a bottle of Northcross because of the deal and didn't like it very much, but I just don't know if that's reflective of the whiskey itself or if Irish just may not be my preference. I can't find much info about it online and there is no CZcams content covering it, but I see it pop up in passing every once in a bourbon hunting video. Maybe it's something that could be on your radar at some point. Cheers! 🥃
I've actually tried it very recently. I think a couple weekends ago at a whiskey event. I don't remember much about it. Maybe ill scoop one up, and hopefully i have a better experience. Thanks for the tip!
Just bought two for 60 bucks each! Lucky me🤗
Wow! Great job!
Is it just me or is the audio weird on this video?
It's a little weird. I used AI to try to improve the audio as it recorded far too soft and louder on one channel, softer on the other... it was a mess.
Listening last night I didn't notice much issue, but apparently it's noticeable :/
@@TheWhiskeyDictionary I think it sounded great!
I wasn’t impressed with Quail’s Gate. I found it took a really long time to open up. It’s not bad at all but I still prefer Leoville Barton.
I gave up on the Spot series after the recent price increases. Yellow $140, Red $330 Green $70 and Blue $300
Those are some expensive prices. I just purchased yellow and green spots today, the yellow was $103 and green was $28. Like real estate its location, location, location.
Holy hell... thats expensive
