- South Africa will today ask the International Court of Justice in the Hague to instruct Israel to stop its offensive in Rafah.
The hearing at the United Nation's highest court is the latest intervention by the South African government in its legal case accusing Israel of committing genocide in Gaza.
As the conflict shows no signs of ending, the International Court of Justice will have public hearings today and tomorrow. For more on these hearings we cross live to SABC News Correspondent Alex Cadier in Paris.

What is the European zoinest doing on palistines land 🤔
EXPECT BEAUTIFUL LIES FROM ISRAEL❤😊
South Africa ignored Omar al Bashir, as well as the African union. But they want to talk about Israel?
@@Joe-pc3hs Yes. This case is about Israel. Which is why they talk about ... Israel.
@@Vorname_Nachnahme
The issue is accusation of genocide. Whereas Israel only has only been accused, where also the UN had to amend their own claim via hamas on death counts. But the UN had verified the issue with Omar Al Bashir, and South Africa ignored the warrant.
ANC only standing again Israel but ICC only respond for west
You can apply till the cows come home..we not done till we say we done
the "International Court of,its own version of, Justice (ICJ) in the Hague". accusing a country for defending itself against genocide. not a word about hamas, which has openly declared it will kill all jews. what is this telling us about the "hague"
Honestly, the people of South Africa are suffering in their own country - How can this be the priority of the government!?
Imagine the world had the same attittude in the 1980s then Apart heid in South Africa would never have come to an end
South Africa's barking up the wrong tree. The international court has no teeth.
Please give the ANC a history lesson on the conflict and Israel's fight against terrorism
hamas must lay down arms and surrender the hostages and then it all stops immediately ICJ or not - so if there's ICJ then should also be some pressure on hamas to do what its time to do for their own civilian's sake - the war is both sides -so time to end this and ball is basically in Hamas's court to decide- further loss or an end to the war - not hard at all to understand
So what you are saying is that the people who are oppr essed must just accept their opp ressors? I can see now why the Apart heid government was in bed with Isr ael. Same ideology
@@MegaMegadude101 No im not saying that- and you make assumptions that are clearly wrong- you don't have to support hamas to support the cause - what you are saying is they must continue to be bombed and sacrificed because hamas refuses to surrender - they clearly have lost the physical war and people continue to suffer - surrender and then other ways can be found but military resistance clearly has no further point to it as it is endangering the civilians - what is it that is so unclear - its just simple logic
@@adrianjones7197 I dont support Ham as but who else is there to resist against the opp ressors?
@@MegaMegadude101 resistance takes many forms right now by not surrendering in my opinion hamas are oppressing their right to life by encouraging attacks - its over - should they continue a futile war until no one is left in gaza cause that's what it seems to me hamas are encouraging - and there are many many ways to resist - for a start - this is now decades away from resolution because of war- if the dialogue had continued instead of attacks- and so many are now dead anyway that will never be part of that - its just senseless - now there is both parties wanting a 1 state so its further away than ever before and whole of gaza destroyed and many lives lost - does that seem like a victory? no one wins here but the devil himself
Dude -. Hamas will not lay down arms. If they lose militarily they will warp into something else and the fighting continues. Also - how do you reason with a group who holds dead people as hostages and steal food from the people they proclaim to fight for. What is not generally known there is a lucaritive drug trade in the south of Gaza - so drug lords also have an interest there. As a another commentator said - same devil and it will remain there.
We should take the ANC to the ICJ.
Clearly you are ignorant of ICJ and what they prosecute
@@KashifKhanZa ICJ is a kangaroo court with ZERO enforcement.....
You forget that their is a party in this country calling for genocide of whiyte people. But that we expect that from them. It is well known SA did this for money not because of thwir love for the Palestinian. I suspect SA owe the BRICS bank plenty of bucs and the ANC if not the contrary is close to banckrupt - now suddenly they all are smiling. Why would that be......and tata to medical health care today as well hey 😂
Lemme guess, English white from the Western Cape?
South Africa should admit that Iran paid them to do this. Not all South Africans agree with what the government is doing when their own people is suffering and being killed every day.
The world christian and the world jewish org,
South africa stop attacking court of justice, israel has his right to do.
