I just can't get used to the arrow keys being in the same grid as the rest of the keys. I always reach down and hit 0 or 1 or whatever instead of the direction I'm aiming for. I'm also a bit salty that the "per key RGB" is just for eye candy, and you can't actually set each light for each key. I was hoping to use the lighting to indicate which keys are activated in each layer.
11:30 I both have the Air60 V2 and Logi Mechanical Mini and I also felt that the Logitech had a superior typing experience. I started with Moss switches on the Air60 which had a stronger actuation force, but still the same short travel which cause bottoming out. Also it felt a bit too heavy for the low profile design, which meant I was making more typing errors.
Next went to Wisteria switches, a lot more comfortable than the Moss switches and they sound great, but still not as good as the typing feel of the Logitech... I think it has to do with the unique shape of the Nuphy Keycaps that might have something to do with how the typing feel. Your thoughts?
The MX Mech just seems to have more travel... it feels a bit more like a full size mechanical keyboard rather than a low profile
I tried Cowberry and Aloe (linear switches); they required no force, and the space bar felt dead. If you're coming from Apple or MX Keys Moss or Wisteria is the way to go. (Tactile) . (Moss has a great feel regarding thump and force).
If you want a switch with a greater actuation force, definitely give Nuphy's Moss switches a try.
Thank you for the tip!
What’s the sound and feel like with the Moss keys? Good? Or no?
I have a Perixx 100% all black with Gateron Yellows, and it's my sweet spot for key feel, etc. I've always been a fan of low profile, with the Microsoft 2000 being one of my favorites. I wonder if this would feel better to me, but at $130 I don't think I want it.
If you're happy with what you have... I don't want people to feel like they have to upgrade just because there's something new and different
It does open up a "what if" in my mind though. I like it for that. Just like I like the LTT screwdriver, but I went out and bought a $20 one from Amazon and I'm happy for it (especially since it was two months before I lost it). @@PhillipRPeck
@@PhillipRPeck And just so you know, we are keyboard nerds, we are never completely satisfied. I've been married for 18 years, but flash a neat new keyboard in my face and I want to have a go at it.
Thanks for your review, mate. Unfortunately, this thing is not my cup of tea because I occasionally enter digits and numeric keypad is a must for me. Could you review
Cherry KW X ULP Ultra Slim keyboard? It looks promising, I ordered it and can't wait to test it.
The Air96 has a numeric keypad...
The Air75 does not
Apparently you didn't watch the video
Nice video, very helpful. What is the device with the four dials that appears at 1:19 of the video?
Thanks! The Stream Deck Plus?
I just picked up the Air60V2 with Brown switches. I love the low profile caps and switches but I think this 60% layout is a bit cramped for mostly desktop use. I don't need a dedicated Function row or num pad but I do want the most comfortable layout for extended typing. Would you say that this 96% has a wide more traditional alpha key placement for normal to large sized hands? Thanks for the review!
Hey, no problem. If you don't want the numpad you should probably get the Air75 V2. It'll be cheaper and have the same layout and dimensions of the 96 but minus the numpad obviously. I love the 96 but I'm still getting used to the layout and I've found it harder to find the arrow keys than I would on a 75% layout even though there in the same position... I think it's the numpad that throws me off. So yeah, I'd get the 75 if I were you
I have the 75 and 96. I think the keyboards are virtually identical other than missing numpad, and perhaps some differently sized control keys (like shift). I would expect the alphanumeric part of the 60 to be the same as the 96.
@@quillaja Thanks, I appreciate that. I know that Rtings reported that some people felt like the 75 was less cramped typing than the 60 but who knows if that is true. I ordered the 75 from Amazon and will test against the 60. I will also take some measurements and report back.
@@ericmcihey whats your conclusion?
@@billythecat I compare the two side by side for a few days and I can say that personally there is a difference in the two. 75% is just more natural feeling for me.
I use Control - Page Up and Page Down a lot (to support my 80 open tabs habit ;). How did you find the upper right corner position of those keys on this keyboard? Does the distance become awkward / inefficient with frequent use?
I'm not one to make frequent use of those keys, but I can see how their different placement could throw you. Given that they're the top two keys in the upper right, I'd imagine that you could get used to them with some practice but I can't really say for sure
@@PhillipRPeck Just checked out the dimensions of the Nuphy Air96. It's a 5" reach from bottom to top. My full size Logitech is only 4.5" from bottom of bottom row to top of top row (of keys). A typical adult hand should have no problems is my guess
How’s it holding up which did you stick with the most?
It's holding up great. I've been using the Air96 V2 exclusively since I got it.
lofree sounds great lol
price doesn't sound so great
@@skilxrd1203 there's not a whole lot of full aluminum low profiles at that price range that I know of. You?
@@mkit18 full aluminum is overrated just mod the nuphy with a few bucks and you get an even better sound. (I do get your point tho you are right)
