Today, its share price has dropped from 100 dollars in 2022 to just $1.6, thats a drop of 98.4% in just 1 year!!
But did you know that back in 2019, this same company was considered to be revolution in the American start up ecosystem because they were valued at a mind-boggling 47 Billion dollars!!
Fun fact, they commanded a 47 billion dollar valuation without ever making a single dollar in profits!!

Wework India is actually doing very well and is generating growth and profits according to their CEO Kiran Virwani ,
"WeWork India’s Virwani said that despite the challenges brought by the pandemic, the Indian arm emerged profitable early last year. He said that it ended FY23 with a revenue of INR 1,400 Cr and INR 250 Cr in earnings."

Yeah, I’ve read about it that WeWork India is actually profit generating business, and steadily increasing despite their bankruptcy natively.
IDK about USA. But WeWork is the only (single one) company in entire India that gives decent coworking/shared office spaces, there is no alternative to it. So it's easy to make it profitable.
Real estate prices in India are very fair, the prices are very much proportional to what real people can afford while keeping their affairs profitable. And unlike USA & post 2015 India, where you can not survive without loans or other forms of cash to burn.
@@notgoodtime A lot of big companies use WeWork too.
For example the WeWork in Malviya Nagar, has NO coworking space, is only for offers large office space like entire floor or officer area for 50+people.
Weather big, small or startup. After working in WeWork anyone would hate to work in traditional offices, and WeWork is not that expensive (their margins is probably very low), so it's always a better option than building/managing your own office.
@@riscnxLol their are so many coworking companies in India. In my city Surat there is no Wework but many other amazing coworking spaces.

Hi I graduated in 2021 and since then I'm preparing for bank exams but I don't really like to pursue a long term career in it but due to the responsibility of a typical rural youngsters and the first gen of my family to get proper education I couldn't risk it . And yes i did get the vibe of cinematic screen and unique sound effect in this video but realised it after reading it in description. 2. Never mess with supply and demand factor, otherwise it will mess you up.
3. An org can never survive when the roots are corrupted, in this case, Neumann.
4. Always be on the lookout for developments that are about to mess up your business model, in this case, covid lockdowns and rise of work from homes.

This was a very good case study. Would ve appreciated more if the emphasis was on unit economics failure. As in, total sqm under management.l, revenue per sqm and cost per sqm, debt per sqm etc economics in reality for Wework and it's peers would ve improved the viewers understanding. SPAC was a new concept.

But one request, please make a video on how to do research? even though things got clearer as I kept on learning, I thought something was lagging to make a big decision out of it, if you help us by making a video for that, It will be very helpful for us.

Amazing analysis! Will just add another point, in this era of high valuations for Tech businesses, everybody wants to be a tech business. However, you cannot ignore your primary business. In my opinion, the biggest reason for downfall of Wework was that they considered themselves a tech firm till the very end but in reality they were a real estate firm. Founders need to understand that just by using technology in your operations you do not become a tech firm!
