    So glad you enjoyed The Dutch House - I loved it. I'm curious to read The Most Fun We Ever Had too but it is quite long. I wonder if it would be better on audiobook. And I'm looking forward to The Glass Hotel as well.
    Sounds like a really good line up of books - hope you enjoy them!

    Hi Helene, so glad you love Karin Slaughter. I also love mysteries and plot twists. Another author you might want to check out would be Mo Hayder. I heard that Karin Slaughter also loves to read her books and that's how I came to know about her. Mo Hayder is a fantastic author! Anyway so good to see you again on CZcams. Hope you stay safe and enjoy all your books!

    Hi, Helene, thank you for sharing, I know NONE of these books, I’m not into horror, only a tiny bit into thrillers, so... but I picked out two interesting names: Ann Pratchett and Claire Lombardo and will do some research. Haha, how I missed that: listening twice to a video, first listening, then again, grabbing the next pencil and a newspaper and scribble some names on the edge of it😁📝... let us know, whether and how you liked the read ones. Love from Germany, stay healthy, Monika❣️

    Thank you for another video! I remember that you enjoyed The Butcher's Hook and I've been meaning to pick it up. Now I'll have two Janet Ellis books to read. Incidentally I'm a big Sophie Ellis-Bextor fan!

    So glad to know I'm not the only one who couldn't connect with Three Women, I understood why it was so acclaimed, but for me personally, it didn't strike me as incredible or life-changing, which was what I was expecting. I knew half of these books and they all sounded so intriguing, I took a particular interest in The Most Fun We Ever Had cause I too am big on big books with a lot of character development and the one by Grady Hendrix. Thank you for sharing and good luck with getting around to reading all of them!!

    I loved 'The last time I lied' by Riley Sager a bit more than 'Lock every door' by him. The 'twists' just blew me away.

    I've read Pretty Girls by Karin Slaughter and yes it is good. I seem to remember finding myself astonished at the sleezy depravity of one character

    What great recommendations! I just ordered The Glass Hotel from Amazon and they say it won't arrive until April 22 because they are prioritizing other orders ahead of mine due to the COVID-19 situation.

  • @theanalogueadventure6824

    Recursion was the first book I read in 2020 and it was very stressful! It was a very good book, but my nerves can't take a second read. It's not about mindreaders, but about memories. Very suspenseful.

    I was looking if you posted yesterday, glad you are here today. I am reading a bunch of books by Tami Hoag, she writes about horrific crime ( murder) kind of gruesome description of murder scenes but good. Good character study always and always with a surprise conclusion. They run about 400-500 pages but you can't put it down it's so enthralling, and you think you know the murderer but you are always ( well, I always) am surprised. These are fiction by the way. See you soon and take care. 🌻 💕

    I read "Lock Every Door" and it's outstanding! This is a book you have to make yourself stop reading when there's something else that you have to be doing. It's about being a house-sitter in New York and get things really creepy. I used to house-sit for people, staying in their homes and looking after the pets while the owners were away, so this book especially interested me.---Speaking of vampires, I once read an anthology of vampire stories and one of them was written by Edith Wharton who is known for American classics such as "The House of Mirth", "The Age of Innocence" and the famous short story "Roman Spring". I've been looking for the title of the vampire story and when I find it I'll let you know.

    I have a silly question. How do you find time to read so much? Do you not work? I have a full time job and hardly find time to read.

    • @helenejeppesen2133
      @helenejeppesen2133  Před 4 lety +1

      That's not a silly question! I do have a full-time job, but I think it all depends on how you prioritize your free time. I often prefer to read instead of watching TV, for instance... It's also a great way for me to relax my head after I've been looking at a screen all day.

      Helene Jeppesen cool. I respect normal. I am not normal so I like that. I’m a mercury retrograde in Sagittarius so writing is kind of my thing. Mostly my thing. It is my thing but since it’s a lot of people’s thing I try to share. Mentally. Anyway. Thanks.
