Would have been so useful if the blue screen doesn't come on when there's no signal. But I guess that's the issue of the FS receivers. They kill the output when there's no reception. That's really bad when you're flying and you suddenly get blue screen instead of at least some level of static so you can make out something.
The AV in port looks like a 3.5mm port. If so, you can take an advantage of the third unused pin as power output, thus no dangling wires and neater look. And oh yeah, love that JB style "I'm from the future" correction.
Thanks this helped out a lot great video. I had some very slight bit of fuzzy or grainy video in mine so I used a shielded wire and removed the yellow and now its clear as day. Thanks again. I also did a small fan on mine just under the rear part cause my glasses would keep on fogging up and wired it to the external battery plug. Now no more fogging.
The link to the FatShark module from the EV800 video is dead, is it still obtainable? Is it possible to do the same mod to work with HDZero or even DJI? Are there simmilar modules available for these systems? I'd greatly appreciate if you could share links to such modules. Thank you, you did a great job with this video, I'm new to the hobby and to the soldering, but I'm sure I'd be able to do it myself. Cheers!! :)
This is a good mod. Saved me hassle to find out where to connect what after my internal RX started going haywire. One suggestion is to install L/C filter in the power line to fatshark module as without it I had some interference/lines. I used a super micro L/C filter (www.myrcmart.com/lc-filter-super-micro-for-micro-multirotor-14s-1a-current-02g-p-11036.html) and now the signal is perfect.

There is an open 3.3v pad on the board. The RTX6715 chips(inside our favor rx5808 modules) runs off a stepped down 3.3v. It will work fine off the 3.3v open pad near the second antenna.
I recommend adding kapton tape to entire back of the screen. The back of the screen looks like thin-steel or aluminum, and it's is conductive. One youtuber demonstrated in his battery mod video that this metal back is charged at something like 5v, so it causes bad interference if the screen touches the circuit board. (It was happening to me.) Yeah, so about 2 or 3 single layer pieces of kapton tape did the trick! (depending on the width of the tape. I think I have a roll of 2" wide kapton.) I hope this helps someone!
Awesome. To take it a step further, instead of using the av jack to route the wires thru, drill a small hole to run wires in and leave the av jack open. Then you can still use it to run other av inputs into the jack, but I imagine you will need to unplug the module before doing that.
Is there latency difference with them ? Also where is the 5v regulator and right pin or scheme , that should be the best place i think ,? ((or itsuck power from the screen, i don;t believe.)) ??

I feel like I can answer this. Yes, the av in will still work if you route the wires differently. If you leave the jack open and you can still use it to plug in other av compenents .
