    Would have been so useful if the blue screen doesn't come on when there's no signal. But I guess that's the issue of the FS receivers. They kill the output when there's no reception. That's really bad when you're flying and you suddenly get blue screen instead of at least some level of static so you can make out something.

    The AV in port looks like a 3.5mm port. If so, you can take an advantage of the third unused pin as power output, thus no dangling wires and neater look.

    The link to the FatShark module from the EV800 video is dead, is it still obtainable? Is it possible to do the same mod to work with HDZero or even DJI? Are there simmilar modules available for these systems? I'd greatly appreciate if you could share links to such modules. Thank you, you did a great job with this video, I'm new to the hobby and to the soldering, but I'm sure I'd be able to do it myself. Cheers!! :)

    This is a good mod. Saved me hassle to find out where to connect what after my internal RX started going haywire. One suggestion is to install L/C filter in the power line to fatshark module as without it I had some interference/lines. I used a super micro L/C filter (www.myrcmart.com/lc-filter-super-micro-for-micro-multirotor-14s-1a-current-02g-p-11036.html) and now the signal is perfect.

    I recommend adding kapton tape to entire back of the screen. The back of the screen looks like thin-steel or aluminum, and it's is conductive. One youtuber demonstrated in his battery mod video that this metal back is charged at something like 5v, so it causes bad interference if the screen touches the circuit board. (It was happening to me.) Yeah, so about 2 or 3 single layer pieces of kapton tape did the trick! (depending on the width of the tape. I think I have a roll of 2" wide kapton.) I hope this helps someone!

    Awesome. To take it a step further, instead of using the av jack to route the wires thru, drill a small hole to run wires in and leave the av jack open. Then you can still use it to run other av inputs into the jack, but I imagine you will need to unplug the module before doing that.

    1. Does the av in still work if you route the wires differently?
    2. When using av in I notice the goggles have bluescreen. Is this a big issue?
    3. Is there a lot of added latency? Could you maybe test it?

    • @RCinginSC
      @RCinginSC Před 6 lety +3

      I feel like I can answer this.
      Yes, the av in will still work if you route the wires differently. If you leave the jack open and you can still use it to plug in other av compenents . You must unplug module first though.
      Second, the blue screen is normal when av in is selected with no input . Once an input is given , it will display.
      Third, there should be no added latency. All the Google is doing is internally switching inputs.
      Hope that helped.

    So got a question. If I have the 2nd version of the ev800 that has the av in like the ev800d version. Could I do it just like this except for voltage regulator to part for the ev800. Well Idk now I'm worried that if you go into bad signal the screen would just turn blue like it just did there at the end. That's scary

    Do this work with the ev800? like, if I put the Boost Converter, and solder the yellow wire to video in?

    Hey! I did this mod recently and I got diagonal lines in the feed, when I changed to internal module, there were no problem. Is this because the video wire needs to be shielded? But your feed was good in the video. Let me know what you think.

      @FenyxFyre Před 4 lety

      KARTHIK R whenever possible try to use shielded wiring. For most applications, it normally isn’t required but when working with wiring so close together having shielded wiring is almost a requirement.

      Hi, did you solve your problem? I have the same issue, i changed the yellow wire for shielded wire but it doesn't remove the diagonale lines...
