- What a lovely ride - a lot more windy and colder than last year but I still really enjoyed it.

As much as I appreciate coming along with you guys via your videos, I think it's very wise of Kyle to insist on regular camera free rides for yourselves. A camera always changes the dynamic of the moment and at times it must be tiring, especially when you are the one being filmed. Cycling in the moment with those around you is what is important and everything else is a bonus built on top of that foundation. Happy riding!

I'm a bit behind with your videos 🙈🙈 but I loved this one, just hearing you sing and hearing how happy you are. I was really into my cycling a few years ago would go out and do so many milones and loved every minute of it, it was my happy place 😍 really want to get back to it ... And even though I do get out and cycle in doors I'm not where I want to be .... So hoping I find my yippeee very soon ... Cycling is quite therapeutic I like to ponder things while looking at the sights. You have to appreciate the little things. In death there is nothing so there for everythng is a plus.

How are the cadence drills Amy? If you can put less load through your legs with a higher cadence your legs will be a bit less fatigued towards the end of rides overall. Maybe you could get to Derby velodrome for a video? A session there would certainly help improve cadence

Tip for pouring liquid from a mug to a glass - The method that I always use is just to pour down whatever utensil I'm using (e.g. spoon, knife, rubber scraper, etc.). You just press the utensil onto the lip of the mug as you pour and the liquid will follow the utensil for the win!

Be interested to know if you both actually went riding on Sunday? I slept in the van on the top of the Strines, it pissed it down all night and morning so I prompt had a hot drink and porridge out the back of the van and went home. 0km.

Most audax events publish a paper route sheet you can print and use to navigate
Yes you can do it with a route sheet that you can follow - I have never tried this as I think I'd get lost! But if you're doing a popular Audax and have route sheet as well as others around to follow I'm sure you'd be fine!! My following of directions isn't the best! 😂
I'm great at directions...but can't afford a ride computer...I do have a smart phone though so if I can get it on google maps that might work! @@amy.cycling.adventures

Hi Amy! You talk a lot about mental health issues. Are you aware of the growing amount of research work taking place on the link between the gut microbiome and the brain (and the emerginig new field of metabolic psychiatry)? People are experiencing huge imprrovements in mental health by reducing/cutting out sugar and ultraprocessed foods, which the majority of cyclists seem to favour for fuelling their rides. Some with very serious disorders are even reversing their conditions and getting off all meds. It might be an interesting N=1 experiment for you to try and also document in a video series. Doubly interesting because you would need to try alternative fuelling for your cycling too. My own mild bouts of depression and negative self-talk have disappeared. Brain fog and negative inner voice have been replaced by clear thinking and silence.
Hiya!! Yes I’m aware of this research ☺️ tbh I don’t really eat ultra processed food and one cafe stop a week I don’t want to give up haha! My cycling snacks are mainly bananas, homemade oat bars, veloforte bars & peanut butter pittas ☺️ great idea though! Glad to hear it’s worked for you ☺️

Why does everybody's bike look far too small for them?? Because they are fitted wrong!!
According to professional bike fitters like Phil Burt, James of Bicycle Richmond & others, most people buy bikes that are too large/long, before getting a proper fit. I know, in hindsight, that I've had a few bike frames that were too large. It's far easier to adapt a smaller frame to fit than one which is oversized.
