  • This is an extension to my "Granular Fx Patch in Pure Data with Neural Network Joystick Mapping" Demo
( • Granular Fx Patch in P... ) that I uploaded a few days ago.
This time, it is not about neural network mapping, but about using pitch estimation to reharmonizes incoming audio using granular synthesis.
Granular Synthesis is well equipped for this task, as changing the playback individual grains changes their respective pitch but not their length.
However, this leaves quite some artifacts, which (to me, at least) make up the charm of granular synthesis.
Here, I am controlling the frequency with the keys on my Arturia Minilab mkII, and using the knobs, I can change other synthesis parameters.
I am not going into the details of the patch in this video, but I will show how this sounds with different input sound sources: my voice, whistling, blowing on bottles, an ocarina, and a guitar. If you want me to do an in depth video about the patch, please leave a comment!
    Thank you for watching!
