LYRICS:
Please don't ever let me down
'cause you know I'm not so sure
Do I have the speed to carry on
Burn you out of my mind, I know
You're a flame that never fades
Jungle red´s a deadly shade
Both ends burning, will the fires keep
Somewhere deep in my soul tonight
Both ends burning
Burning
Burn
Now my course is plain as day
Running bold across to play
Both ends burning with a strange desire
That feeds the fire in my soul tonight
I will dance the night away
Living only for today
Both ends burning while you're counting sheep
Hell-- who can sleep in this heat this night?
Tell me will I ever learn?
It's too late, the rush is on
Both ends burning and I can't control
The fires raging in my soul tonight
Oh will it never end?
Put your foot around the bend
Drive me crazy to an early grave
Tell me what is there to save tonight
Both ends burning
Burning
Burn
Keep on burning till the end, until the end
Keep on burning till the end, the very end
man they were all on fire that night! wish I had been there!
Roxy’s era in ‘82 was an exceptional time for the band.
What a nostalgia, Bryan and Roxy at their best
Bryan Ferry - once again You are magnificent. I have watched this video on You-Tube hundreds of times!!!! I will always love Him!!! Also Neil Hubbard at his best as usual!
I particularly like watching Roxy concerts in France ..... I imagine driving a Citroen SM to Bryan's villa after the show and talking to the band over Champagne and Gauloises !
pure class
Viva Bryan Ferry !!!
The song's best version ever!
I agree with you 110%.I am always hearing everyone say that the version on viva is better but i think this is the most kick ass version
Without any doubt, you are 100 per 100 right.
Oh boy, Manzanera was hot, I can tell you. Was it one of 100 best guitar solos ever?
It's great, but I love the energy and pace of the version at the Apollo in 2001.
@@1359401 ....naaaaa .... !Viva! ....
It was a great song played perfectly (with inspiration) by extremely good looking band for infinity
Saw Roxy back in 77', Detroit, what was billed as the 'Bryan Ferry show'...great concert, if I remember, Ferry was very wired, going through cocaine addiction, which he was able to kick..
❤❤❤ROXY MUSIC FOREVER ❤❤❤Fantastic
The Kings of England viva Roxy music
I saw them in 1981 in New Zealand, can’t remember a lot of detail except them being great , I guess it was a similar show/lineup being one year earlier from this
I was there, with a girlfriend : it was so great !
my favorite also out of the blue and many more
Saw same tour in boston live of course. Was in awe....avid fan ever since....out of the blue fav of mine too
what a band ! all their discography was flawless
Magnifique.
Bien sûr!
I have Live at the Apollo and Live in Lyon but I wish more Roxy shows be released on Blu ray especially the Dylanesque period or Live in Oslo🔥💯🙏💯🙏🙏🙏
Thanks for the post! Roxy is a great group and Bryan Ferry is super cool and elegant! This sounds so great loud while I am on a bumpy train ride!
Thank you so much, Helene! IMHO, this live version surpasses the original song and it really showcases each band member's talent: Bryan Ferry's voice, Andy McKay's sax and Phil Manzanera's guitar all shine here!
@@shutzenko73 yes piotr...Bryan Ferry was on fiiiiire!
J'ai eu la chance d'y être et ce fut une soirée extraordinaire, enfin presque parfaite ! 😅 😂
Stll great after years
Agreed !!!

I was 3 at the time. This aggrieves me.
yes
His voice disintegrated later. This was definitive.
What I find hysterically funny these days watching this again, is how almost nondescript the rest of the band is dressed compared to Bryan. It's like, Phil's like, I'm here to play guitar and sod all else! Same with Andy! Not wearing a fucking tux unless I"m getting paid to be the frontman which, I ain't!
Shows His unique CLASS! Also shows that He was not a control freak just let everyone be comfortable and play on.......which they did beautifully!!
That was his m.o. thou, Frank Sinatra of new wave...suave and classy...lady's man...james bond of rock...lol
@@danaruggia3241 Of course.
Both Ends Burning - eating at Chipotle?
Freaking hilarious😃🤣😂😁
Andy Newmark is an amazing drummer but no one propels this song like The Great Paul Thompson does.
real rock stars wear dinner jackets.
You're so right
[17 August 2021] I don't know about that, though. Real *POP* stars wear dinner jackets (smoking jackets) (gold lame suits a la Martin Fry of ABC), but I'm not sure about rockers. The thing about Bryan Ferry was that (at heart) he was never really a rock'n'roller - and certainly never that tawdry vulgar thing a "rawk staur" (the sort of creature who trashes hotel -rooms and wears sunglasses at night) - and always a *POP STAR* , an idol, an icon, a Pop Artist (who'd studied Pop Art, under the great Roy Hamilton) who turned himself into his own work of walkin' talkin' singin' dancin' pop art. You know what I mean? Bryan Ferry - on his own and with Roxy Music - sang the Mutant Pop ("mutant pop" is pop music *AS* Pop Art; it's what "Roxy music", as a descriptive phrase and not just the name of a band, really means), and not the Mutant Blues (the mutant blues is what rock'n'roll really is, before it's anything else). So he was always a pop star and never a rock star. Pop stars wear dinner-jackets, fancy suits, pommaded hair, cufflinks, etc., but rock stars don't.
@@elizabethhann4028 💯 👏👏👏👏
where's Paul Thompson goddamit?
He left after Manifesto, I believe.
This is Andy Newmark,
who is no slouch.
Newmark played with Sly and the Family Stone, John Lennon,
and he worked with Pink Floyd on the last album done with Roger Waters.
There’s a nod to Sly and the Family Stone during this Roxy show, in fact...
@@jasonlefler3456 hey also played with bryan ferry in the 80s including live aid with david gilmour.
Who was on bass guitar ?
Mr. Alan Spencer!
@@shutzenko73 thanks..
@@MrPomdownunder My pleasure!
Alan Spenner
Simon LeBon of Duran Duran sounds a lot like Bryan Ferry.
They have been a inspiration for a lot of people.
Terrible concert, not a patch on their early years, should of packed it in then, this tarnishes the memory of the great years!
worst version I have heard, but this is still my favorite song by RM
Mine too.
j'était à Fréjus un régal l'année d'après bowie
