For those kind of things i’m thankful i have the digital version of the PS5
FR, when i got my ps5 i thought it was broken until i looked it up and saw that it was the other way around, idk what possessed sony to have it like that

Best tip I’ve discovered: Turn on the zoom feature in accessibility. Press the ps button and square simultaneously to zoom up to 3X at any point even while still playing. Saved my near-sighted, lore-loving behind playing Cyberpunk with its microscopic text size!
I highly recommend this for anyone (like me) who wants to read every little thing the game makers have put into a game (e.g., the "marker scrawl" on the walls in Dead Space) or to scope out the enemy when they have no idea you are even there (e.g., Skyrim).

@@DakhothI do that as well! For me it’s resident evil. I love environmental details, they add so much to the overall experience!
An important tip to take into account after the first couple weeks is rearranging the control center icons when you press the PS button. Find the options you use the most and put them closer to the front. For example, I use my playstation a lot for media, so I moved the controller option up to make it quicker to turn it off and save battery.

I have to say that voice search (using voice to search for a game ) is perfect. It always gives me the right results. I never had a voice command product that worked all the time. But the voice search in PS5 never failed me even with some of the odd naming of some games out there.
Very important tip. Use the included hdmi or new equivalent with proper capabilities to have it running smoothly on your tv or monitor. Outdated ones can cause issues & cause screen timing to b off. If u r getting black screen, even temporarily, it is either that or DHCP setting should b off.
2nd tip: Nextorage SSD is a better priced option for back up ssd storage & is made by the ppl who created ssd for PS5 originally. I got a 4tb with heatsink for $200 on sale during the holidays vs the nearly $400 it would cost for the competitors. Ck for sales!

Save SSD space by turning off save video when trophy’s are earned
When i was in school, my teachers said i didn’t read enough. So i started to put subtitles on and read them as i was playing, but now i can’t play a game without subtitles on. You’re not alone ash lol

This comes just in time for me. While I didn't receive a PS5 for Christmas from my wife or kids, I DID receive one from my nephew! He's a doctor and I am going through chemotherapy, so he "prescribed" a new PS5 with Baldur's Gate 3 for my overall wellness. Thanks for the helpful video!

I will never remove the playstation beep. It’s so iconic and I love hearing it eveytime I sit down on the couch for a gaming session. It’s my little way of indicating i’m entering the zone lol

That SSD card would come in super handy for me who doesn't have enough storage for all I need. Shame it costs £130-£159 or so. May need to wait until next pay day for that.
An external can often free up some space too. I mean unless you have no ps4 games on there but if you have psplus you are likely to have a few. Can hold you over until you can snag one or find one on sale. I recommend saving a couple in an Amazon list and watch for sales. They go on sale a few times a year in the states so I presume they would over there too.

And don't forget if you change your phone number update it on your PS account, if you lock yourself out of your PS5 it's a nightmare getting back in without the 2 part verification witch they send to your phone
The only change I want to make to the beep is replace it or the startup screen with the old ps3 startup orchestra

If tou need to share the tv with someone who isn't interested in games, turn off device link in the hdmi setings. Might save you and them some unneeded frustration
note you can not use multiple extended storage devices try switching between them and you risk losing ps4 games and in some cases make them impossible to redownload, this has happened to me

07:05 No one seems to acknowledge that while it is quicker to transfer a game from extended storage to internal storage, you also can't do ANYTHING while the transfer takes place. Redownloading takes longer, yes, but at least you can play something else in the meantime?

Worried about controller battery life or how short the cable that comes with the system is? Don't want to sit right in front og your TV/monitor? Power bars with USB ports and 10' USB cables exist. Anker powerlines are great ones.

If you buy a ps5 slim Disk. You can’t put your Bluetooth usb ( for cordless headphone’s) it gets hot being at the back of the console ( so shuts down after 35 minutes! Be aware of this!

One tip that I think more people need to know is that if you want the full effect of the haptics and adaptive triggers, then you have to mute the controller mic. If you don't then it defaults to the standard strength, even if you've set it to strong.
I can only assume it does this to stop interference with the mic. Hope this helps some people.

It's the laser. You need a red laser for CDs. Sony didn't want 2 lasers in them like they did with the PS3.

I wanted to use voice commands for a long time now. But alas, it isn't out in Canada yet.
Had the console since launch and virtually every time I watch one of these I learn something new. Let's see: Yep. Had no clue I could mute all sound by holding the mute button.
I know ppl say some of these things are obvious, but my mate who had ps5 since shortly after it came out had no idea there was a built in mic to the controller that was switched on every time he was going on Cod or FIFA or whatever untill I told him a few weeks ago 😂. He just looked at the controller and goes "so ... They can hear me... Now?", Me: "every time"

i know about turning off the beep, but does anyone know if you can mute the speakers on startup? the sound never comes through my headphones until ive signed in, and i cant mute my monitor! the mute button on the controller also doesnt work until you sign in, and the menu can be quite loud!
There's somewhere in the audio output settings where you can turn off the home screen sounds. I'm not sure if you mean the sound it makes just before the home screen tho? I don't think that's muted. Mine's set up to not have music playing on the home or store screens bc honestly it's just too high pitched and grating for me to enjoy. But it doesn't affect any game or app audio

Is it me, or does the new slim model sound loud? I can hear it through my headset. What can I do to reduce this? I got it just a few weeks ago, and I'm already worried...
I have the original and it's quiet. I've heard the slim is a tad loud.
I had the og ps5 and returned it for the slim, I can concur that the slim is a tad louder. I prefer the smaller size and extra storage.

My gf bought me a ps5 for Christmas and she set it up and installed some games. She also renamed it so when we wanted to do something I went to pair it with my phone and saw it was called "Penis-5" so that's how I found out you can name it.
Everyone: Voice Command is only available for accounts registered in the US and UK. All us mainland Europeans will have to continue managing our console with these ancient devices called hands.
After a couple of weeks the voice was annoying so accessibility to mute the voice

@@ProcrastinatingGameCat you can only delete a game with 0%. Once a trophy has been earned, it’s there forever. Not a big deal for most, but I like to platinum hunt and having a game with one trophy bugs me haha
