- I'd been hunting high and low for a nice mint or new in box Gamecube for ages. Its always been one of my favourite consoles, with some awesome games and lots of fond memories for me.
I found this on eBay and am extremely please with it!!
Top tip.... if you're looking for a Gamecube - or any retro games console, try and find one that comes in an outer box - that will give it the best chance of being preserved and in the best condition possible!!

The GameCube was the first console my parents specifically bought for me. We had the SNES and N64 before. But this felt so special. I remember waking up for Christmas and opening it up. Was such an incredible feeling. Absolutely loved it.

I think the proof of it being unboxed before is the manual compartment. It has little flaps that should hug the GameCube, but it looks all flattened here. Love that the original owner kept all the bags!
100% correct.... I really noticed this when I re-boxed it.... I watched my video back a couple of times to check I was doing it correctly! It couldn’t have been out of the box for lol good though...

James Bind Nightfire, me and my mates had hours and hours of fun on that game on split screen with the bots running around with us, was on ps2 though. Criminally underated, bet if I played it now it would be crap. Great video, really want to pick up a game cube.

I agree the n64 was terrible. Growing up playing NES and SNES since 1986 the n64 actually turned me off from video game for about 5 years, UNTIL my mom ramdomly bought me a Gamecube for Christmas 2003. I had honesly never even heard of it and was like wtf is this when i opened it. Im so glad my mom bought me that, it got me back into vodeo games and was my favorite Nintendo console until the Switch came out
Buy a carby hdmi adapter it’s a night and day difference on the graphics.
2 main reasons why GameCube didn’t do so amazingly well.
Lacking of DVD playback. Most DVD players were more expensive than buying a PS2 back in the day. So the PS2 was seen as the perfect console for its price.
The propriety mini disk which didn’t help third party games and large amount of content which was needed for some games, it also turned many third party companies away. And Nintendo’s attitudes to Third party companies.
And a few other nitpicking. was
some of their main killer games were seen as being too kiddie, Zelda being the biggest shock. Luigi’s Mansion was a great game but was too short and not a game I would want at its launch, Mario sunshine was fun but it was very unpolished and apparently a rushed game which why it’s probably one of the hardest 3D Mario games.
On eBay brand new gamecubes are $1000-$2000, open box new are $500-$600. I would love a brand new one.

I would love to have a brand new GameCube as I wish I had bought one back in the day. I had an OG Xbox then a PS2 but I regret never buying this
The GameCube is underrated second to the Sega Dreamcast. I wish Nintendo hadn't ruined its relations with 3rd party devs, because it would've done better than the OG Xbox.
Something about the GameCube is just so "video game-y"...you know what I mean? Like I don't know how to explain it. PS2 was almost like an overglorified DVD player, and the Xbox, as cool as it was, was more or less a PC. But the GameCube, out of the big 3, felt the most like a true blue game console. And no I don't just mean because it could only play games and not DVDs, I mean the whole presentation and aesthetic of it. Even the box it comes in looks cool, like you're getting a mini arcade machine in a box. The GameCube logo was always so cool to me, simple yet bold, and that translates into the console design as well. It's simple and understated, yet when you see it you can't possibly mistake it for anything else other than a GameCube.
Our neighborhood was Nintendo back then. Played a lot, its exclusives and MP endeared fun, says this Xbox owner.
Ahh the GameCube what a great little system i was fortunate enough to get a PS2 and a GameCube manly because in the UK Argos and Dixons had to drop the price so low on the GameCube cuz no one was buying them So I was living the dream that gen :D A school friend of mine had an original Xbox as well So that was the only generation that I was able to play all 3 systems They're all worth owning in my opinion :D

It was definitely used before. They might not have used the cables but I can see some dust build up on the fans in the shots around 17 minutes. Very slight, but some dust on the sharp edges. If it were played, it was gently done and put back in the bags in such a way to not create crinkles in the bag. Which is a plus in my opinion but still not new.

But won’t the internal cr battery be toast and not hold charge after not being used for 20 years? As I have two gc and one of them the internal battery is gone and not holding charge so was less hassle for me to go and just buy another GameCube with a new battery fitted by seller and using that one instead. I don’t have the expertise to change the battery out myself I think it’s soldered on as well.
