And that’s the only way to buy in the uk if you want a uk release.

i noticed on the back, both of the slip cases say they are 4k, whats up with that? EDIT: ok i see, the blueray one is a 4K scan from the original reduced to HD where as the new one is a new scan for the 2023 release? but its just at 4K and remastered now. hopefully they didnt use the 2020 blueray 4K scan.

I have the 4K on pre-order and it’s supposed to ship here in the next three days or so. My question is, which has the better picture between the Blu-ray, and 4K in your opinion?

I have the US dvd set and Hddvd and decided to order the 4k. Pity the slip isn't as nice as the blu ray and no poster either. This has never been released in the Uk since the vhs edition for some reason. How did you manage to get yours so early? It's not out until the end of May.

The uk rights issue is a wonder. Polygram did the vhs. But Polygram was swallowed up by universal. It’s a mystery for sure.

Thanks for the review Richard! I have always enjoyed this film from the time I saw it as a little child when it first came out. I purchased the blu-ray as soon as I could get my hands on it and have enjoyed it thoroughly. In my opinion, the blu-ray transfer was quite nice already so I do not intend to double-dip and buy the 4k edition as well. The velvet slipcover on the blu-ray is a nice touch too so that just makes the decision even easier!

Such a shame the velvet slipcover didn’t come with the 4k. Not even the poster survived.

Another totally missed opportunity. These slipcovers look and feel so cheap. Arrow has done a lot of top quality rigid cases, don’t know why they refused to do so for such a legendary film.

Yeah the velvet slipcover was so nice on the Blu.

I hate this too. Why cheap out on the slipcover? Arrow is known for quality packaging and they lower the quality for the 4k upgrade? Doesn't make sense.
