    I’d say the outcast will perform better, but the Xmaxx is more durable

    Good video. Both you and the guy in the NorthEast, I love watching you guys having fun with your RCs.
    ". . Easy to do one handed. ." says Earl Moorhead, the man who makes it look too easy! Anyone else notice Earl had in his left hand, the controller bound to the Outcast which was on his right side, and the Traxxas controller in his right hand which the XMaxx was on the left. Talk about getting your brain cross-wired!

    Those Xmaxx drive shafts are pretty much indestructible if you cut em in half to make a pivot point in the middle. Gotta couple it together with a piece that fits inside of it. I saw that guy Rocky from Texas doing it. Can’t remember the name of his channel but when his chassis flexes now it never bends the drive shaft. Give it a try 🤷‍♂️

      Thunder RC. You said it. That’s the guy who cuts the shafts in half. Not sure the part number that he uses to couple it back together. It’s like the piece on the slash that connects the center driveshaft to the diff. Wish I could remember what they’re called dammit

      I did similar on one of my XMaxxs; but took it a step further and cut it into three segments. Works great, (so far).

      heck yeah awesome. His video is called “How to Build the Strongest Xmaxx” from Thunder RC. He keeps em light. Uses aluminum C hubs and a two piece center shaft with the spline in the middle and he bashes the crap out of it. Pretty legendary RC imo

    I do like Traxxas vehicals. However the company itself I can not stand. They are not supporters of the hobby. Therefore, I will never spend a dime with them. Arrma 8s are a bit heavy to compete with the Traxxas in big air bashing. Track runs I will take Arrma everyday. Redcat Vigilante 8s is an awesome alternative and as soon as the secondary market comes alive for them, I do believe it will take the basher king title.

    Hi Earl, I know you're comparing what you own, but it's not really a fair comparison, a 4 year old car compared to a 6 month old one...and here I'm not just referring to the plastic part, but also the maintenance part, springs, oil in dampers and differentials and others.. Correct it was Xmax ultimate with Outcast 8s v2 exb.. and it was another story

    All the new Xmaxx and XRTs come with the C clip now. (except for old stock in stores) That M2C two piece center driveshaft would be perfect for a hard basher like you. Not worth the expense for me as I don't bash hard enough to need one. I am still liking what I am seeing with the new Kraton EXB. Very heavy but I think it would make a good high speed ground pounder which I enjoy. It has come a long way from the previous one in reliability. I just got my Xmaxx all fixed up and then yesterday I had a hard hit on the tail and snapped out a section of the upper brace just behind the motor. Run it as is and will pick up a new brace next time I get down to the hobby shop. My Xmaxx sounds like your Outcast when it lands. It is an Ultimate though and weighs more than the regular one as you know.

    Hi Brother Earl, got a question on the XMaxx. I noticed you use the stock hinge pin set up to hold the front/rear upper/lower arms on. Do you ever notice them popping out? And after they pop out a few times, do they tend to pop out more often as the holes in the plastics get distorted or fatigued? Do you ever use aftermarket captured hinge pins on the XMaxx? Thanks!

    • @earlmoorhead5555
      @earlmoorhead5555  Před 25 dny +1

      I noticed if the pop out the hinge pin is bent most of the time you can drill up to the Losi size and it solves the issue rather then running captured hinge pins plus there stronger but most of the time I’ll just hammer the pin straight and reinstall to save money making sure the pin spins free in the arms 👍

    The rocks and cobbles embedded in the hard packed soils out here in socal really beat up on the aluminum chassis of my 1/8 scale RCs. As long as I have front and rear skids on them so the leading and trailing edges below the bulkheads don't wear down I' m not too concerned about the gouging and abrasion on the wider central area of the chassis. I think it is just what you can expect running out here. Unless the chassis gets bent, fractured, or dented, I don 't think that even heavy gouging or abrasion is going to wear out the chassis. These RCs are fast and heavy enough to knock the rocks out of the way. I have the same expectations for how my Outcast 8S will do in this terrain. I got it to use it all up and run it into the ground before I'm done with it.
