All living creatures need and deserve a quality of life no matter what your views on eating meat ....some of the below comments are callous beyond belief ..not surprising really 😞
I think that if you need to eat animals, then they should not be keep inside and in an as natural environment as possible.
But then if u do that people will protest how they aren’t living in a field that spans 10000km in the next generation and so on
@@user-vv7ir1pl4j there needs to be a limit. Theres a free range farm near me where they just roam, and they had protesters cut the fence, because fences are not natural. Property was so wide it took half a hour there and back. Funny thing? They let out bulls. In mating season. Was chaos lol, apparently one dude even died.

At 1:59 we say that 'by law' all pigs should be able to lie down ON THEIR SIDES at the same time. The legislation says that pigs need to be able to LIE DOWN at the same time. The industry code of practice, which farmers are required by law to know and is used by enforcement bodies, says that all pigs should be able to LIE DOWN ON THEIR SIDES at the same time.

I'm not against painlessly and ethically killing an animal for food, but I am 100% against torture and cruelty of an animal before it is slaughtered. The quality of livestock needs to be improved

So it's more ethical to let a pet suffern in agonizing pain towards the last stages of his life rather than put him or her down? You can't be serious. So allowing an animal to suffer is ethical and denying suffering is unethical. According to your logic.

The UK literally has the best animal welfare law on the planet. Our treatment of animals is the best on the planet. If you actually take the time to look into the law you would see that farms cannot just sit at the minimum standards for long. You always have to be improving the standard of care of your animals and farms are commonly fined for just sticking to the bare minimum.
Humane slaughter is an oxymoron. You can’t compassionately kill someone that wants to live when their death is unnecessary (I.e humans can survive and thrive on plant based foods; therefore killing animals is unjustified and immensely cruel). Before anyone says ‘we’re designed to eat meat’... we’re really not. Those canines you think make you a meat eater... guess what? Hippos have the largest canines in the animal kingdom and they’re herbivores. Plus, just because you CAN do something, it doesn’t make it moral to do so. Spare these innocent beings and switch out meat, eggs and dairy for beans, legumes, nuts, seeds, berries, root veg, greens, grains, vegan ice cream, vegan cheese, vegan pizza etc etc. It’s SO easy. Do you really value the taste of a rotting carcass over an actual life? If you do you’re a straight up prick. If you don’t then do the right thing and go vegan

@Owen Haynes ever been to a free range farm? Vegetarian people pick the worse farms to make a point, some free range farms are just that, free range, they roam in the fields, with a shelter they can leave when they please, for when its cold or rains.

@Owen Haynes no actually, that would be out door ranged, free range has a size requirement, and we actually stopped pigs going extinct by breeding them for food, so it does actually have some positives
I live down under and our SPCA is also called RSPCA, and my family is very careful about what they're buying, so free-range eggs and locally sourced meats. Apparently, factory-farmed meat isn't as healthy and doesn't taste as good.
RSPCA approved means nothing. Free range means nothing. It’s all incredibly cruel.
At the end of the day you still contribute to cruelty of animals. Vegan lifestyle is the only proper way.

RSPCA is bs. Look at the undercover investigations.
Animal rights acknowledges that domestication, breeding, inseminating, confinement, and slaughter of animals is inherently cruel to them. It gives animals equal moral consideration based on their abilities to suffer. Welfare fully allows these cruelties and treats animals like personal property, which rights rejects as it objectifies them. Welfare is used by farmers to make inflicting pain and suffering on them permissible, just so long as their suffering isn't too abusive by welfare standards.

It’s only going to get worse for farm animals and I shudder to think of the animal standards such as the Far East and evening parts of Europe incidentally when these animals are slaughtered en masse the people who work in this industry who provide this meat are some of the highest risk groups for suicide , I couldn’t think of a worse place to work , and don’t start me on Halal/Kosher slaughter as that’s just plain barbaric.

Did you know that much of the meat sourced for the nhs and schools consumption comes from halal slaughter why is this ? Was your opinion sought ? Thank you for the education, I've always disagreed with animals being kept in such small spaces and deffinantly being kept indoors for their whole lives. I think if we are going to USE these remarkable animals for our food, then we should provide them with a decent standard of life, and a long life at that.. I'll certainly be on the lookout when choosing what to purchase in future

@@lizardblue2022 agreed - there are plenty of vegan options in the UK for 'burgers' and 'sausages' that don't try to mimic the taste of meat, but improve on the patty or 'tube of food' idea. Try "Strong Roots" and "Cauldron" - also as cheap or cheaper than meat

Love the way you begin with a subjective animation. A pig, spilling out of a shopping basket. Presented prior to an explanation. After the wholesale debunking of the Netflix 'documentary' on Veganism, I'm taking everything, any Vegan says with a huge pinch of locally sourced, renewable, Kosher, Halal, Racially pure salt.
Our animation and the whole video is entirely based on facts and is in no way subjective. That bit you mention is merely demonstrating visually that most people don't buy whole pigs. The video has nothing to do with veganism and is purely an examination of what the different labelling systems available for meat in the UK actually mean for the welfare of the animals they represent. We did this to ensure consumers can make an informed decision.
